We had an excellent spot right on the river with plenty of shade and lovely river views - remember to ask for the bottom campsite when booking. It meant a bit of a walk to the ablution blocks but worth it. The other campsites are on a grassed area between the chalets also shaded. A complimentary bundle of firewood was a nice touch. Not so nice was the fact that the rubbish bin had not been emptied. The ablution blocks, while clean, could do with some attention to detail - one understands that chalets bring in the money and probably not camping but a detailed inspection of the facilities by the owners/managers (very friendly I would add) would be recommended. All in all a good spot to spend a few days watching the river flow by.

We stopped here on way to Kgalagadi. After 10 hrs driving the heat we needed a break. Wanting to camp but Spokie and Ockert convinced us to take a chalet which had air condition. Best move. The place is on the orange river so we could walk and wade in the cool water. It has abundant bird life, with geese walking around. The Chalet was for 4 people, One bedroom on suite and another bathroom. Self catering , so we had and evening braai. There is a restraunant, but we did not use this, but it was neat and the menu was simple but inviting. The surrounds beautiful, and it had a clean neat swimming pool. You could make this a place to stay for a week with much to do around. However we only used it as a stop over. Would highly recommend it.

Although this resort is located in one of the most beautiful spots, we will not book here again. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. Filthy bathroom and shower. Broken and missing tiles. We had a lovely evening meal delivered to our chalet - please build on this standard.

We visited Kheis Riverside Lodge for the last weekend of July and booked 3 Chalets. What a wonderful place to enjoy the quietness of nature and the river flowing in the background! The atmosphere was just great and the service was the best. Would recommend anyone to come stay here for a weekend and have fun.

We stayed in chalet 8 for one night on the way back from the Richtersveld Park. It was a super-restful experience. There is lots to do on site: bar and restaurant, fishing in the river, lovely swimming pool which is elevated to have a river view. The chalet was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. This will be our stopover point of choice in this area in future; but for a family wanting to have a pleasant experience in nature: stay longer !
