Detailed Reviews
We had a phenomenal time staying for 2 weeks in this lovely hotel situated in Courchevel Moriond 1650. It is a ski-in ski-out so location is very convenient and just a few minutes walk to the free shuttle that takes you around the other villages. It is also walking distance from Aquamotion and all other shops. The interior is a rustic chalet that provides a warm and cozy feel. Our room was the same. It had a balcony with a view of the mountains. The food, drinks and service at the restaurants were amazing. They have the best burgers and pizzas and I also loved the special cocktails! What makes this hotel so special is its staff. Everyone was very well trained for their job and so friendly, helpful, courteous and welcoming. Matthias and his colleague at the ski-rental were the same. Very warm and helpful! Communication at the time of booking was excellent too and we were provided with everything we needed as well as other requests granted. They also surprised us with a Christmas basket filled with goodies on Christmas Day and helped us book restaurant reservations at 1850 and arranged taxis with so much ease. It was our first time in Courchevel and we were blown away by how friendly everyone were wherever we went! Unforgettable Christmas and we will surely be back next year!
Just one room for improvement on the mode of payment during booking. It would had been better if the hotel could provide a secure payment link rather than paying by phone and giving all our credit card details.

This hotel is absolutely fabulous in every aspect. From the impeccable service to the delightful accommodations for children, every detail exceeded our expectations. The ski room was superb, complete with attentive ski butlers who made our experience seamless. The rental equipment provided was of top-notch quality, ensuring a hassle-free skiing adventure. With its convenient ski in/out access, hitting the slopes couldn't have been easier. Having stayed in numerous 5-star establishments in 1850, including the renowned Aman and Chabichou, we can confidently say that this hotel rivals them in every way, offering exceptional value for its caliber. The rooms were meticulously clean, adding to the overall comfort and satisfaction of our stay. We will be back!

Portetta is simply the most fantastic hotel, with an amazing team of people that made us feel hugely welcome and valued as customers. We are a family of 4, with two teenage boys, and each of us had the best stay at the hotel.
The accommodation is beautiful, the lounges are fantastic and really cosy. Roaring fires, lovely sofa areas and a brilliant bar.
The location is amazing, and so well supported by the best Ski shop and storage we have experienced yet! Ski hire and storage was first rate.
The food was great, always of fantastic quality and served by a genuinely brilliant team. They really go out of their way to ensure every different type of customer has the best experience for their requirements.
The New Year’s Eve party was fantastic, with an amazing band and atmosphere!
We have already booked for next year and can’t wait to return!

Having eaten at Angela’s restaurant regularly, my last two visits have been such a disappointment. This season something is off. First visit: three extra drinks totalling €60 appeared on the bill. Naively I paid and only checked the bill afterwards. It took 45mins to get a refund with the team offering three glasses of champagne instead. Today we waited an HOUR for our food to arrive (4 diners). 50mins after ordering the waiter came back to check what we had ordered. He said the restaurant was very busy which it was not. During our wait, no bread appeared just frost my defensive attitudes. A real, REAL shame. Ski time missed. Witnessed a couple of other tables enduring the same painful experience.

Charming hotel and friendly helpful staff…. Mostly!
Whilst it is a lovely hotel and location, I would advise that you do not visit during the last week or so of the season. Unbeknown to us before our arrival, it becomes a very different level of service at this time. The restaurant closes early if only a few tables booked and you
May not ask for anything at all once closed. The bar closes at 10pm and again there is no opportunity to get anything after this time.
There is no room service offered at all either.
Spa has children running in and out of the hammam and sauna with only one staff member on the reception desk- not bothering to mention anything. Including the use of outdoor shoes in the spa.
I am sure it could be spectacular here but we have been left feeling (still here actually) disappointed that we are expected to go to bed at 10pm.
The spa is underwhelming and not as the photos have shown either! Not particularly clean nor stocked with any refreshments except water. Not a luxury spa as Limewood hotel is (every visit here has been perfect).
Limewood should be reluctant to put an association to this hotel if they knew how it was this week!!

My Christmas stay at Portetta was truly magical. The service was exceptional, with warm and attentive staff. Our room was cozy yet luxurious, offering breathtaking mountain views. The Christmas Eve dinner was a highlight, very tasty dishes in a beautifully festive setting.
The Hotel ski-in/ski-out access made every ski day effortless.
We really enjoyed our stay and will come back !!

Such a beautiful, homely, quintessential mountain hotel with lovely staff who are a credit to the hotel.
On arrival, we were greeted by a really friendly concierge and reception team.
We found every member of staff friendly, helpful and always greeted us and others with a smile. It can be hard work and draining dealing with the public but if they ever felt it, you wouldn’t have known. What ever model Portetta have, don’t change it, your staff are keepers!
Our room, double and piste facing was nice. Tea or coffee making facilities in the room would have been a nice touch but not a big issue. We’d certainly stay in the room again.
The breakfast, lunch and evening menu were absolutely brilliant and tasted beautiful! The chefs are keepers too!!!! The staff in the dinning room, bar, terrace and lounge were so efficient and seemed to have a good team relationship.
The live musicians on a Tues & Thurs were very good and lovely to sit and listen to after the slopes.
We will be coming back again and this time for longer! Thank you for making our holiday!

Le Portetta is truly a gem in Courchevel 1650. This is our third visit to the boutique hotel and it does not disappoint. It gets better and better each time. Mehdi and his team (in particular the reception staff) went above and beyond to help us during our family holiday in December 2021. Despite all the confusion and paperwork around Covid, testing and vaccine pass, the team at Le Portetta was always helpful in trying to find answers and accommodate us.
Le Portetta is at the base of 1650 with the ski school and south facing slopes right in front. The ski shop located at the hotel has a strong team looking after the guests. Our ski equipment was always ready each day. They were truly amazing!
We did have a couple of hiccups at the restaurant, as it was the first week of the season. However, I suspect it is sorted now. The spa is fantastic and Mathieu, the masseuse is fantastic after a big day of skiing on the mountains. Lastly, the lounge with its big and welcoming fireplace is great for drinks before dinner.
Many families return year after year and it is understandable why they have a loyal client base. It just works so well.

So cozy and calm, great ambiance, the lounge is like your home with a fireplace. Families with kids dominate so hope you are a kid lover. Spa is beautiful, calm and clean, everything works. The breakfast is like a huge brunch, you have avocado toast to omelettes, pancakes, it is a feast and super healthy.
Ski room and all services are top quality. The food is delicious and prices very reasonably, we could eat there every night, top quality steaks.
The staff was very kind, friendly, always smiling and helpful, with a very natural positive attitude.
Ski to door was very convenient.

We had a fantastic week at the hotel.
The positives- staff are warm and friendly and very helpful. Hotel is clean and tidy. The room was nice and clean with separate bathroom and toilet with nice views of the piste. The spa was lovely. The masseuses were very good and friendly. The ski room is the best we have experienced anywhere. Always nice to pull on warm boots in the morning!
Breakfast and lunch were extremely good. We ended up having a full meal, most days, at lunchtime. The soup and pizza were exceptional.
Room for improvement- a whirlpool or hot tub in the spa would be great to refresh tired legs. The evening menu wasn’t the best for vegetarians/vegans. Some of the flavours were overpowering, particularly with garlic.
Overall our stay was great and good value for money. We would probably go bed and breakfast rather than half board due to our dietary requirements in future.
A big thank you to all the staff, particularly the bar and restaurant, who went the extra mile. Even getting coconut milk I for my morning latte!
