We did camp in a tent, and the tent areas, primitive areas by the bird sanctuary is so beautiful!!! Kids love every minute of it, it is also a short bike ide to the beach, only reason i give it 4 stars..and also is difficult to find availability due to being a smaller place..is mostly booked year round,..so if you wanna go may have to book in advance! It is sooo beautiful and relaxing and such a great price too!!!1

I saw this listed as a Trip advisor 2021 top pick and I am baffled as to why. Camp spots are on top of each other with no privacy, it’s basically a swamp where mosquitos rule. There is no access to water / beach. It’s packed so it’s very noisy all day and night. They sell firewood for $12 that will never burn due to 100% humidity it’s been sitting in. Bathrooms are rough at best with things growing on the faucets. Please do not invest in a place that’s only draw is a cheaper option to stay with no improvements.

The Jekyll Island campground is located at the north end of the island. It's just off the main road and the bike trail is accessible from the campground. Overall, the campground was nice. It's the typical RV-site layout, so there wasn't much privacy. The bathhouse were decent quality and were within easy walking distance of our site. I would camp here again.

The trees in this campground are so tall that no breeze comes in from the ocean nearby so it’s very hot!!! Get ready to get eaten alive by mosquitos also! If you come late it’s much harder to check in and find a restaurant or figure your way around the island.

Nice campground, friendly people. Bring bug spray - tons of bugs. *Warning* Most of the restaurants ONLY serve “resort guests” in the evenings, so eating out is not an option :(. Wish we had known that before planning to vacation here! Xxxxx
