I have stayed at Kattekwaad for 4 nights week , two weeks a month for a total of 3 months to date, ie. 24 nights. The rooms are perfectly furnished and equipped, you will not sleep cold even in the Kaapsche Hoop misty climate. The hosts, Chris and Lul will treat you like an old friend, and serve a great home cooked meal if. you arrange ahead of time.

It is not a self catering facility ,although an honesty bar is available in the rooms, with soft and alcoholic drinks and snacks, (and not at hotel bar fridge prices!). there are plenty of dining spots in KH, but Lulu cooks a mean oxtail, as well as other meals. If you want , the will provided interesting and intelligent conversations over a drink, but otherwise you can have all the peace , quiet and privacy you want.

This has become my home away from home, and I am looking fwd to another three months of part time living at Kattekwaad.

Lulu sent me a couple of messages before my arrival. I was treated to a lovely complementary dinner of bobotie and vegetables. Lulu and Chris really went out of their way to ensure a comfortable & cosy stay. I had a wonderful stay from Tuesday to Friday at Kattekwaad Accommodation.

A real 5 - star guesthouse with unlimited wi-fi connection, solar lights, insect repellents, electric blankets, a TV with full DSTV, hairdryer, heaters and fans. The bed, pillows and linen were of excellent quality. The room was spacious, super clean and very beautifully decorated. Complimentary toiletries were provided.

The tea/coffee station had a wide selection of coffees, teabags and rusks. The reading nook kept me entertained in the evenings over a hot cup of tea after a hectic hiking trip. The honesty bar was also filled with beverages and snacks. Not forgetting the delicious meals served...

My expectations were truly exceeded and I definitely recommend a stay at Kattekwaad Accommodation.

This place is charming and lovely. The photos don’t do it justice. I really liked the way it was decorated and the attention to detail. Warm, cozy bed with comfortable pillows, winter bedding and an electric blanket. The reading nook was a real treat to sip on warm tea and eat delicious rusks in the afternoon. Everything is clean and there has been a lot of care in putting the place together. It is also great value for money!
The hosts are warm and welcoming. Such lovely people as you’ll see in the other reviews.
Besides the accommodation, the town is special and offers much in terms of charm, quaint homes, friendly people and trail walks. Next time, I’ll try horse riding nearby and the a trip to the sudwala caves.
I’ll definitely be back and for longer.

Kattekwaad was perfect in every way.

The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and the room was wonderful.

It was spacious, with beautiful attention to detail and lovely little cat trinkets everywhere.
The honesty bar was a wonderful addition, but the view from the balcony of the room was definitely the highlight of my stay.

It is an absolutely perfect place to stay and enjoy this exceptional town! There is no place quite like Kaapsehoop!

Uncle Chris and Aunt Lullu have hearts of gold. Kattekwaad is where I feel as at home as in my own home.

The rooms are always in perfect condition and every meal is a feast to look forward to! Delicious farmers food!

I hope Sappi still gives us a lot of work so that we can come and visit again regularly.

The wife and I needed an urgent sleep over because of family responsibility. We were lucky to get an 1 night stay over at Kattekwaad. We could not have asked for a more beautifully setting and effortless panpering for this one night. We could not have wished for a more pleasant stay. Lulu and Chris were wonderful hosts and treated us like kings. Accommodation was beautifully dequrate and immaculately clean. Guys you have made our day, many thanks and keep up the good work. It is peole like you that set the bar high.

We did an impromptu 2 night stay over at Kattekwaad and could not have wished for a more pleasant stay. Lulu and Chris were wonderful hosts. Accommodation was immaculately clean, beautiful and thoughtful little touches were added. We would most definitely stay over again and highly recommend it to any other guests looking for accommodation there. We wish them all the best for the future

We had a wonderful and long stay (arrived Monday and departed Friday) at Kattekwaad Accommodation in Kaapsehoop.
The hosts are great. Lulu is a great cook, she treated us with supper as well as breakfast at a very reasonable price.
Kattekwaad is immaculately clean and highly recommended.
Thank you Chris and Lulu, we are sending our friends and family to you.

We enjoyed our two nights at Kattekwaad immensely. Chris is the perfect host and made us feel welcome. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and comfortable, spacious and the coffee station with the delicious 'brown' rusks was very welcome.
