Coming from PE, I booked this venue, on recommendation by our KWT colleagues, as a conference facility.
The email correspondence with Nadine was super efficient and professional, and my conference evening with 10 people went absolutely smoothly without falter.
The small conference room was sufficient with a projector facility; and a 2 course buffet-style dinner, was served with juice and water. Due to the owner being of Muslim religion, the venue does not allow alcohol consumption.
I thought the food to be sufficient, but lacking flavor, however, I was not there for a culinary experience!
The owner is an extremely friendly gentleman and it was a pleasure meeting him.
The venue also offers accommodation, and bigger conference rooms that can accommodate up to 250 people.
The price to hire this venue is extremely reasonable.
I would definitely recommend it as a very affordable conference facility!

Spacious and clean room, but bathroom was small and had tell-tale signs of aged and worn windows. Towels were clean but insufficient for a double room. Reasonable cost, though. Room floor was mostly wooden, and concrete towards bathroom. Wooden floor creaked as one walked around. Wall heater won't be nearly enough to warm guest during a cold winter night. Overhead fan came on immediately when light switch was clicked on, and the string off-switch could not be reached (My height is 1.72m), and had to call in maintenance staff who brought in a ladder, and also requested by me to change the non-functioning TV remote. My recommendation: Kindly consider enlarging the bathroom by taking some of 'dead space' from main room, and find a way to block out an unsavoury view of clothes hanging out to dry...

I spent the night here and I was underwhelmed. The staff are indifferent to you, and the service was a bit lackluster. My room had a window facing the shower, but the blinds were damaged, so people walking past could look into my room and watch me if they felt like it.

The acoustics for my room were pretty bad, I could hear people in the rooms around me.

I had no heater in the room, and it was a pretty cold night, they do however provide extra blankets in the cupboard. The room did have a fan, so in summer you could stay cool, but no air-conditioned.

The bed was clean and comfortable.

They had no wifi, which might be a deal breaker for any business travelers. I'm not sure who designed the layouts of the rooms, because the tv in the room is facing away from the bed, so if you wanted to watch tv you would need to stand by the door.

They have decent secure parking.

The food was awful, would not eat here. They have watercoolers and ice machine, but neither were on or working.

All-in-all if you are just looking for a place to rest your head, you could get by here provided they aren't too busy. Just check the room before you book, and hopefully your room will be better.

Excellent service; very neat rooms. Each room has a bar fridge; micriwave oven; tv.Bookings process very easy over the phone. The place compete with some of the best hotels in South Africa. For me it is a hotel not a guest house.Everything is organised.

This venue is very conducive for training with spacious training rooms. The staff is always wiling to help. It is also close to amenities. I really enjoyed my stay at Hemmingways. I spent peaceful nights there, wishing to come back for more.
