Leisure Acres Campground was a great place to stay that offered the southern hospitality Georgia is known for. We spoke with one of the managers to ask where we could purchase eggs and she graciously went to her home and brought us fresh eggs from her chickens. The site was clean and the lake and wildlife were beautiful! We enjoyed our stay!
We encountered two different ladies in the office during our stay. A lady by the name of “Sandy” checked us in. She said she was fairly new. That’s no problem! Everyone has to start somewhere and we understand that. She did, however, give us bad directions to our site. She was also extremely short tempered with us even though we were patient. She also told us that the staff who trained her had “thrown her to the wolves” and not done a good job. A few days into our stay, we encountered another office worker by the name of “Susan”, who seemed miserable and made us feel like we were a burden when we asked if she could recommend a local RV tech to help us with a small and unexpected repair. We were already stressed out about the issue and just looking for some assistance in finding someone reputable and local. When we walked into the office, she was talking badly about other staff members to a gentleman who was working in the back part of the office. Completely unprofessional! The campsites were decent but the roads could use repair. The gravel hill we had to go down to get to the campsites was extremely steep and had ruts and holes in it. The site itself very narrow and uneven. Since they do not allow rugs on grass, we would have stepped into mud when exiting our RV had it been raining at all. We were thrilled when we found Leisure Acres online and saw the crosses. The idea of a Christ-like atmosphere was appealing to our family! Unfortunately, we didn’t feel any of that here and will not be returning. While the campground itself was pretty, it wasn’t worth it.…
So we scheduled a weekend trip here in July and it was a nice quiet nice weekend. The park shows its age but was clean. The bath house was especially clean in fact one of the cleanest I have ever been to. It has a nice pond that you can fish (must release) and benches around it so you can relax.
My wife and I have been coming here for years. We used to like walking around the pond and using the little prayer nook by the shore. Unfortunately, the music coming from the shed is so loud and bass heavy we couldn’t hear ourselves think. It’s too bad really, it used to be a good campground. We’ll be looking for a new place from now on.
We spent a week here. Cleveland is nice with some good restaurants. While the campground is clean, the campsites are right on top of one another. We also had issues with the owner blaring his music from the work shed on the hill every day for hours. We could hear it inside the rv even over our music or movies. We asked the front desk if this could be turned down a bit, but nothing was done. Several other campers expressed issues with this, but the campground didn’t seem to care. They acted like we were all just being too sensitive. One of the other campers has migraines and had to leave during the day to avoid the noise. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place.
