I booked with a large group of people. They were very accommodating to the needs we had, helped us find things to do around the area. They had an awesome tour I recommend doing you get to see many parts of Batam and it can be personalized to the groups needs.

veeeery friendly and helpful staff! dont be irritated from not english speaking night watch staff. whatever question or problem you have, wait for the manager to answer/help you. she normally arrives at 11h and stays until about 17h and is really competent (the only one with a laptop in case you have problems with booking flights or whatever. note: foreign credit cards dont work for most of the indonesian flight companies, try tiket.com!!)! nice and tidy double rooms, very good room service. tell them if you dont want to get wake up service and breakfast in your room, they will give you a tiket to get your food at whatever time you want it downstairs. to get around download the gojek app ;) (works like uber.) tours are nice, figure out if the attractions are worth for you going there, not compareable with other indonesian attractions. very little guests around at that time of the year, mostly indonesian guests. enjoy your travels :D

The day time staff at the hostel were super friendly and egar to help. The hostel is clean and let's in lots of light. Unfortunately the rooms have an air freshener in them and they smell a bit funky. Even though the staff were very sweet and egar, they spoke little to no English so there was a huge communication barrier. Whenever we had a question it was a lot of work. They also didn't seem to know where they were or what was around. We asked them to show us a map and they didn't know where they were or where we could go to eat except for the overpriced westernized mega mall. There wasn't a lot of consistency and the night time staff didn't seem to be very aware of what the rules were or what was allowed. Example, I needed to use the phone and the day time staff allowed me to but the night time staff told me to use what's app and wouldnt let me use the phone. Whats app which doesn't work unless the other person you are trying to contact has whats app. This was very frustrating because I couldn't make an important business call. They also brought breakfast every day at 6 am... by the time we would wake up to eat it it would be cold. I felt bad but we had to start telling them we didn't want it. In the end the owner and staff were very nice and the place was very clean but this hostel is not in the best area and they don't seem to have a grasp on what travelers need. We left a day early because there wasn't a lot here for us.
