I've stayed in Country Inn & Suites before, so my expectations were not greater than they should be. This is one of the most worn out and sad places I have ever stayed. The room is beyond drab. The bed feels like sand bags. The bathroom walls are obviously and poorly patched in numerous places. Finish on the tub is worn out. Public spaces are no better, and the staff's indifference only further reinforces the depressing vibe. I gave it 2 stars because it is clean and everything seems to work. There are numerous other hotels in the area. Something in the same price range has to be better. Would never return.
This hotel was similar to many Country Inn establishments we've visited. It was clean enough - weirdly the sheets were damp. Must be the local weather. We were told by the evening host that the pool opened at 9:30 am. The next morning the staff said it was "open right now" (8 am). This worked out well so we had enough time to shower for 11 am checkout. The breakfast was scaled back but nice - muffins, coffee, fruit, cereal. This is not a fancy hotel, but it gets the job done.
We had originally booked this hotel in Dec 2020 and rooms were $75 per night, now that people are traveling after vaccines the rate skyrocketed to $97.44 Thur night and $192.36 Fri & Sat nights before taxes. So for 3 nights the total was $547.26 and this was with a discount. Would not have minded if the hotel was a 5 star but nothing special about this place. The girl at the front desk wasn’t overly friendly and the rooms were nothing great. In fact our sink was clogged. We didn’t ask for maid service and brought our own towels and pillows. Since Covid they don’t service a sit down breakfast so we had some of their juice and fruit in our room. The beds were comfortable and no noise was heard from other guests. They need to replace their toilets with higher ones as the ones they have are fit for a midget. Too low!!! Will I stay here again? No! If I’m paying this much, would pay more to stay in a better hotel.…
I called to confirm my reservation, as I was on my way to check-in at the hotel. I was advised by the young lady who answered that she was told that I would not be attending my reservation and they gave the room away. I tried to get some clarification on why she would have been advised of that, as I never verbally canceled my reservation, nor did I communicate to Expedia that I wanted to cancel my reservation. This was very upsetting, as every other hotel was booked and I also did not want to lose out on the money I paid one week prior to book this room. No one even did their due diligence to call me and tell me they canceled my reservation. The young lady was very rude to me and could care less about the inconvenience the hotel has caused me. I asked to speak with a manager and she stated that there was no one available. I asked what we could do about this and she stated that I would need to Expedia. I did not understand why when the HOTEL canceled my reservation and Expedia still had me down for this trip. She hung up on me and I am 100% sure that she blocked me right after. I tried to call back four times and each time the call would not ring or go thru. However, when my fiance called in, he was unable to get thru with no problem. I am unsure what I did to be treated so poorly by the staff at Country Inn. I stayed there the previous night and the suite I paid for was not worth the price I paid for it. When I checked out this AM, I did advise the only nice staff member of the issues we had the previous night and she was nice enough to at least grant us an apology. KUDOS TO HER. As far as who I believe is the manager on duty, she was not very nice either. She threw my money on the desk for the receptionist to count and gave me a look of disgust.... Like I said, not sure what I did to be treated in such a way but this whole situation is not right. I understand that it is busy and spring break, but I am still a person and I did not deserve to be treated in such a way. I will be escalating this issue up to corporate. I could care less about the money lost to this reservation at this point, it is more about the respect I should have been shown in return. Not once did I yell, cuss, or disrespect any of the staff there. I will be escalating this issue because I'm sure I am not the only one.…
