I feel very lucky to have found this place. It's location is literally in the heart of Siesta Village and you just need to cross the street and go 1 block to be on the beach. The hotel is almost complete with their renovation and they are improving everything with the best

When we arrived, we discovered that the property was under construction. Our first room had been partially renovated but not all was complete - no towel rack, phone/clock, lamp. We also discovered we had no connection to hot water and had to take ice colder showers night one.

The location for this resort was perfect. Right on the beach and not to far from St Armands Circle. The staff was friendly and the pools were heated. It was great to have a restaurant on site for breakfast and a little Tiki bar at the pool. The resort itself is in dire need

My family and I stayed last week while the Red tide hit the shore of Siesta key. We tried to make the best of the situation. However, I am still waiting for management to call me.We were told management is in a meeting and would have to be texted our numbers for him to call us

Response from Dawn S, General Manager at Siesta Beach Resort & Suites
Responded 12 Aug 2018
Hi Marilee, You should check your voice mail. I returned every call this week and I know I left several voice mails from the hotel guests. I was unable to call during the day as I was working at the desk to try to help with the guest concerns and every persone brought to me was called after 6p on that day. We do have three front desks so I'm sorry that I wasn't there when you were. If by chance you weren't one that I called (I can't find a reservation under the name Marilee in our system to trace phone numbers) please reach out to me. I have NOT hidden from this issue at all and have told all of our desk people not to take it on themselves. And from the beginning- anyone that has a medical condition that can give us a doctors note has been let out of the cancellation penalty. I have a file folder full of doctors notes from guests. I am the mother of 3 and grandmother of 7- I have not ever and will not ever put a child - or adult for that matter- in danger. I have not and do not lie. If I didn't respond it's because I didn't receive the message. In that case I need to work better with my team. In case you try to reach me, my meeting days are Tues and Weds. I am usually off on Sunday and Monday..

DO they supply beach chairs to take to the beach and/or beach towels?
No they do not. We drove down & brought our own. There are shops right outside the hotel that you can buy a chair.

I lived in Sarasota for 20 years and now I vacation there. I grew up going to Siesta Key everyday back when this was a Best Western hotel. There is NOTHING positive to say about this hotel other than the location is perfect. It makes flea-bag hotels look like the Ritz. The hotel doesn't have to change anything because the location is so great, they make tons of money. You'll pay double for any other property. You're spending most of your time on the beach anyway - and you can always shower at the beach. Honestly, if you can cancel and afford a better place to stay, I would find another place. There are a lot of rental condos in that same area. Most people rent a car to drive from Tampa to Sarasota. Also, have at least $2 on you to pay the toll on the Skyway bridge.

I live in Sarasota for 30 years and have to say that if you are going for a great hotel experience then don't bother. If you are coming to experience life on Siesta Key then you won't find a better place for the money. You're truly steps away from the beach and Siesta Key Village. You could literally walk everywhere you need to go. Your stay at the hotel should not take away from the Siesta Key experience if you are truly coming to experience Siesta Key. Hope this helps!

Very close to the beach, but it is across a very busy street. The ground floor rooms are wheelchair accessible but there is a raised 'bump' at the wide door.

"We stayed in 106 ( I think)...It was across the street from the pool...around the corner from the office. More quiet"
