Hotel's Favourite
The hotel is located close to I-75 and approximately 20 minutes from Siesta Key Beach. There is a Publix close by for any grocery needs.
The room we stayed in was big and I think they gave us a handicap accessible room. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, but they have square pillows. I don’t like square pillows, so that’s a personal preference.
I was disappointed in the breakfast. Eggs, sausage, muffins, toast, cereal, waffles, and oranges. That sounds like a good amount of choices, but I wish they had offered more options of fruit and bagels.
The hotel is very close to Clark Rd. which is a major street in Sarasota. Although the room was very quiet, we could hear quite a bit of road noise while outside in the pool. That’s not their fault, but if you want a relaxing outdoor experience, this may not be the best place.
The pool is small, but clean. In that same area is a nice outdoor seating area with couches and a grill to use.
The staff is very friendly and thanked us for our stay each time we interacted with them.

Hotel was very clean and full this weekend! We enjoyed the pool, which was very warm for the slight nightly breeze. The jacuzzi was just as heated as it should be. The location is very accommodating to everything you would need whether it’s takeout/sit down or groceries. Also lido beach is only 25 min drive straight down the street! Such a beautiful beach. Staff, especially the wonderful older lady (I wish I got her name) was very helpful and sweet. She remembered faces and was very attentive.

We needed a place to stay over the weekend. The checkin was easy. Be aware that there are pets on all floors. The hotel is a little older so there are signs of it (exterior base of in room hot tub which we didn't use had some wear marks) Be very aware that there are pets here; had a dog next to us bark to let us know. Also be extremely aware that the room windows do NOT open and a cloying horrible scent is sprayed in every room. The odor does not dissipate and is heavy. The room is clean. Breakfast includes make your own waffles, off brand cereals in a lab rat dispenser, fruit, juice, etc. not bad for COVID era. The weather was not conducive to pool use but was quite small and in the parking lot, but did not use it to evaluate. Housekeeping is every 5 days. Facility was clean and staff was friendly.

Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We do try to keep pets on the back of the 1st floor hall, once in awhile we do have to put one on an upper floor. The only thing sprayed in the room is a light deodorizer, I will be sure to check on it to make sure it is not to strong.

We were guests October 8th thru checkout October 11, during Hurricane Milton.
I’ve tried contacting the manager as requested by the front desk personnel about our room 313 during our stay.
The window leaked and activity dripped rain water into our room. I could hear dripping and as I investigated the sound — I stepped in wet carpet.
As there was no air conditioning in our room the carpet became smelly and gross.
I did alert the front desk and I did ask for an extra trash can to collect the leaking residue, so as to not compound the problem. It looks as if this leak has been an issue for some time as the screws on the curtain track are rusty.
Upon checkout I informed different front desk clerks of the issue and asked for a reduction of our bill, as the smell of the moldy carpet is highly offensive.
I was directed that only Julie Samblanet could assist us, was handed her business card with her email.
I’ve not had a reply (either in person & email) to any form of reply for resolution of compensation for unpleasant stay.
I would caution every guest to inspect their room thoroughly and if one smells strong use of fragrant deodorant, be advised there may be a problem with unsanitary room.

I sincerely apologize for the difficulties you experienced and want to provide some context for the situation. The leaking window and lack of air conditioning in your room were direct results of the hurricane's impact. Unfortunately, addressing the window issue during the storm was not feasible, as it was unsafe for our maintenance team to make repairs under such hazardous conditions. While operating manually due to the power outage, our primary focus was on guest safety and maintaining essential operations during this challenging time. Once power was restored, our staff thoroughly inspected all rooms to address maintenance concerns like those mentioned in your review. We greatly apologize for the lapse in communication after your stay. Once the storm had passed, any member of our management team would have been able to assist you. However, our General Manager, Julie, has been on medical leave since shortly after the storm, which made her unavailable for follow-ups. We understand your frustration, and contacting the hotel directly once conditions had stabilized could have allowed us to resolve your concerns in a timely manner.

Paying Over $200.00 for a suite and not getting a table is ridiculous. They would not even consider putting one in our room for our 2 day stay. Hotel.was not full. How do you call it a suite with no couch or table for dining. We have two dogs so prefer to not inflict them on others for a meal. Take the cancelation charge so you don't get ripped off to find a better more accommodation.

First our suite was huge, that being said it had no furniture in it. Bed, Two chairs computer table and chair and 2 nightstands. Very poorly lighted, Jacuzzi tub was a joke. Jets basically spit but no jet action. Shower was horrible too. Could not get the water to come out of the spray. Rusted and almost scary to work with. We requested a table for our " suite" and were denied. We had no place to eat and since we have two dogs who like to announce every new person, like to eat in our room, hence the "suite" request. Oh and the hotel was not full so one could have been taken from another room for the two days. We even offered to move it. Nope! The young lady at the front desk was nice but offered differing information as did the gentleman. We were told late check out till noon was free and then it was 10 dollars till 1 and 20 dollars till 2 and 30 dollars to 3. Nope again. 2 is the latest. Unfortunately we are staying here next weekend as we are selling our home and having lots of open houses so this is just easier. Can't cancel the room next week so stuck with a mediocre accommodation and unhelpful staff. Look long and hard as this place is not a bargain at over $200 per night and is not at all a value.

We were there in February 2022 on a 1st. floor 1 bedroom suite that cost more than $300.00 per night. The room had a constant sewer smell. The wifi connection was terrible as it kept cutting out. Their T Vs have no "guide." We asked for the room to be cleaned mid week and all that was done was removal of the soiled towels. No vacuuming, no mopping and no cleaning.
One day the electric was cut off for the entire hotel for 5 1/2 hours. evidently this was a planned electrical update, but we had no notice whatsoever. My wife had just gotten out of the shower and the room was dark. I asked the front desk why we were not notified in advance and I was told that they posted their front door with a notice. But we never used their front door. When I told them they should have put a notice under the doors or used their phone notification system to each room, they had no response.
One day I asked Julie, the manager, for 2 rolls of toilet paper & she told me they give only 1 roll at a time. Yet the weekend rate I was paying was $371.00 a night. Julie promised us 30,000 points for our dissatisfaction (we are Hilton Honors members), but she never gave it to us. When I called back to inquire why (on April 6, 2022) she hung up on me.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We tried to resolve some of the items in your complaint and were denied at the time of your stay. When I tried to speak with your wife regarding the points, she wanted 50,000 but I explained I could only offer 30,000. She hung up on me. At which point she called customer care with Choice, and they did give her 18,000 points. At this point I was told by customer care that the case was closed and that your wife settled for the 18,000. After being on the phone with you for over 10 mins trying to explain that Choice customer care closed the case, and I would not be giving any more points. You told me then that if I did not give you the points you would be putting a bad review everywhere. I told you I was ending this call now.

After losing my sister to cancer in Florida and emptying her house, My husband and I decided that we would stay close by for a couple of days to rest since we had been up for almost 38 hours straight. I'm also disabled by the way and we have five dogs which have never been an issue at any La Quinta we have ever stayed at. Upon arrival, We were told by the front desk person who attempted to check us in that we would have to pay $25 per dog on top of the $150 a night for the king deluxe suite. Other La quintas waves that say for the pets because we are platinum members, some La quintas don't charge anybody anything. When I heard the amount that I would have to pay for the dogs I decided that I was not going to stay there It would be too expensive but we were exhausted. When I asked if they would wave to see kindly until I could speak to a supervisor in the morning to rectify the situation because surely they must have had it wrong I was told that my credit card would be charged anyway. So upon hearing this I decided to cancel any reservation and return to my sister's house where my husband and I and our five dogs slept on the floor until the next day where we decided to make reservations in Forsyth Georgia same type of room different kind of treatment. Exhausted, We drove to Forsyth the next day. I called the hotel on my way to Georgia and I did get a hold of a supervisor Jennifer who is totally obnoxious, cut me off in the middle of speaking, and had no customer service training that I saw since I've done that job myself. I told her that I would contact my credit card company and it would be handled that way since they were going to charge me $150 for the first night plus $25 per dog and $220 and change for the second night because I didn't cancel in time. Trust me my credit card company listened. I will never stay at Sarasota La Quinta if it was the last hotel on Earth. And Jennifer really needs a new training or to find a different job not dealing with the public.

Thank you for your review, this is the published pet policy for our hotel: This hotel accepts up to 2 pets. There is a limited number of pet-free rooms. For both pet-friendly and pet-free rooms please contact the hotel directly for policy details and to confirm availability prior to arrival. What was told to you was we only accept 2 pets per room and we would make an exception but it would be $25 a day for the extra pets as there is a lot of extra time cleaning a room with 5 dogs. You were informed that you would be charged for the room rent for the first night since you were past cancellation and that was the only amount charged. It is always recommended to check pet policies with each hotel as most hotels charge a fee and do not accept more then 1 or 2 pets. I am sorry you felt I was obnoxious I was trying to explain everything to you which was difficult when you would not stop yelling at me.

First impressions are important and from a clean parking lot to a very clean lobby and check-in desk, I felt this stay would be good. Edward Kaiser, front desk manager cheerfully welcomed our family and very quickly checked us in. He covered everything we would need to know for our short stay: checkout times, key cards, passwords for wi-fi. Edward was the consummate professional, answering all our questions and concerns and was friendly and made us feel very much welcome. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the linens on the bed were clean and comfortable. The A/C was actually quiet. There was a breakfast available in the morning that had a wonderful choice of breakfast foods. I look forward to a return visit to this hotel. They have it all right.

Cleaning and fresh towels need to be requested at front desk. A pain to have to go get towels when needed. Old hotel.

As explained at check-in, a full housekeeping service, including fresh linens and replenished amenities, is provided every three days by default. However, we are happy to adjust this based on your preference—had you requested daily service, we would have gladly noted it in your reservation. As a pet-friendly hotel, we do our best to accommodate all guests while keeping pet-friendly rooms in designated areas when possible. However, placement may vary based on availability.
