The location is good, but the amenities are lacking. I was able to get to all the beaches in the area as well as all the other locations my family wanted to visit within about 20 minutes. The pool is nice and because the beaches were so close it did not get packed while I was there. They only had pool towels in the morning and did not restock throughout the day. The breakfast was a hit or miss, it was packed and they were always out of food, plates, or utensils. There was no where to sit in the breakfast area due to the amount of people that eat the free breakfast. After a couple of tries we just ended up eating breakfast at some local spots which are abundant in the nearby and downtown area. The rooms and hallway are outdated and the thermostats did not appear to be working properly. If you don’t get in late you can park in the U shaped parking surrounding the pool, if you get in late you have to use the back parking lot which is dark. There was a homeless individual sleeping in one of the back corner spots of the parking lot on our visit. It was not a bad experience it was just old and could use something to spice things up wheter that be the service or amenities. There was nothing great about the hotel to push it above average rating. They did appear to be making upgrades in the hotel.

A repeat visit to this well run and well priced property. Friendly and professional staff is eager to please. Very clean common areas. Centrally located and a 10 minute drive to Main Street and the beaches, great complimentary breakfast buffet and free parking. Laundry on site. Pet friendly. The complimentary weekly meet and greet cocktail reception/light dinner buffet fell on Valentines Day this year and the staff really outdid themselves with extra treats and fresh flowers on the table.
Four out of the usual five because the jacuzzi was not working for the three weeks of my stay. Otherwise, definitely recommend.

My husband and I stayed here, booking at the last minute to accommodate a surgery he was having in Sarasota. Weather was record lows with wind chill. The hall way to the room had no heat and only just in the area closest to the elevator. The thermostat in the main room did not work so we had to use the one in the bedroom. The bedroom did not have a King rather a Queen and was uncomfortable. My husband ended up sleeping on the pull out and froze to death in the main room. The TV's were non responsive and you had to wait to page thru the guide to finally select your channel. The TV LED in the bedroom was losing its clarity with 1/3 of the screen dark. The bathroom and shower were tiny. The entire hotel was very dated and I give it 3 stars only because it was clean . To boot the price including taxes was $230! Completely not worth it. P.S. We arrived at 6 p.m. and checked out before 8 a.m. hence the reason we did not call maintenance as we had just driven a long way to get there and had to get up early and were exhausted.

Not much to say other than thank goodness Victor works there. From day one he was very attentive and kind. Always inquiring and ensuring that all was ok with my room and my stay. He went above the call of duty to make the stay pleasant

I have stayed at this particular property many times in the past five years, most recently over this past Christmas and New Years, and the hotel staff never ceases to amaze me. From the housemen and housekeepers, the maintenance personnel to the front desk staff, they are always accommodating, professional, and friendly. Blanca Garcia, the hotel’s general manager, is the quintessential hotelier. She ensures her staff maintains the guestrooms and all public spaces impeccably, and ensures that updates and renovations are completed expeditiously when needed to keep everything up-to-date and refreshed for their guests, not to mention beautiful seasonal decorations. I look forward to my next visit, the middle of next month, February, 2025!

It has been a journey. Our 5th stay in seven years, and what a difference a year can make.
This well-located and well-priced Hilton franchise property has reached its full potential under the new management of Blanca Garcia. From Sam and Maryann at the front desk to the always pleasant and efficient houskeeping staff ,this place is a pleasure. Lobby and pool areas sparkle, (complimentary)breakfast is freshly prepared with a range of choices, kiosk on site for what you forgot to pack. Laundry facilities. Free parking. We had one small issue with the room which was addressed in minutes. (Thanks Willie!).
Not a glamorous location but it's 15 minutes to most destinations within Sarasota and 10 minutes to I75. Adjacent to several shopping centers. A favorite of the nearby Mennonite community of Pinecraft, you won't find 2am pool parties here. Just a clean, safe and quiet space to rest.

We stayed here as the Main part of our vacation (museum hopping getaway). The location was close to many local attractions (Ringling Museum, Sarasota Ballet, Lido Key...to name a few) and also had lots close by for great eating (Der Dutchman FTW!). The check-in went smoothly thanks to Noah (Front Desk) who made sure we had all we needed! The Continental breakfast had hot (eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy, waffles!) and cold food muffins, hard boiled eggs, fruit, cereal) choices and the area was well-kept! We stayed in a suite (separate living room and bedroom) that you could tell was recently updated! The full kitchenette allowed for cooking/reheating of food (though didn't use as much as thought due to some great local restaurants (check out Der Dutchman less than 5 min away!). The pool was clean and not too cold! The patio had great seating (enjoyed late one night while watching the super blood moon eclipse). When in the area will stay again (very close to the Legacy bike trail!)

Being Hilton members and wanting a one bedroom accommodation, we chose this location. Bad mistake. The room had a weird odor when we entered although at that point, it was masked from it being cleaned. We quickly realized that although the ACs (one in bedroom, one in living room) were on, it was musty, humid and it smelled. The carpeting in both rooms was very old and probably held a lot of the smell. There was laminate in the kitchen area but it felt wet when walked on due to the humid air in the room. We intended on staying 3 nights but after the first night, I began having a bad headache. Wasn't sure if it was just a headache or due to the odor in the room. The first morning, I take our dog outside and upon return, there's a note stuffed in the door stating the fire alarms will be checked at 10 am. Okay, not a lot of notice but we took off for a hike at a local nature preserve and for lunch. We returned around 12:30-12:45. My husband left to golf and I laid down because of my headache. Around 1:15, I'm awaken from sleep by our dog yelping and the fire alarm screeching. I get up as quickly as I can and get the dog and myself out of the room and outdoors. I message the front desk asking what is going on, we understood the testing was at 10 am. I'm then told it STARTED at 10 and should be done soon. Twice I thought they finished and tried going back into the room, only to be met with screeching alarms, again. I stood in the parking lot with our dog until 3 pm. These tests are not a surprise visit by the Fire Dept. The hotel knew but apparently decided to not inform guests when they booked their room, nor did they inform us upon check in. We would not have stayed there. If that wasn't enough, we would constantly have to disconnect from the WiFi just to look something up. A little later in the day, we get yet another notice on our door saying they will be entering all rooms that very day and a couple days on (this is 4th of July week) to do AC maintenance and work on WiFi routers AND even if you have a "do not disturb" sign up, they're coming in anyhow. I have no words. Obviously this is something that had been scheduled as well and notice to potential guests should have been given so we could decide if we wanted to stay here during their maintenance time. We have a suspicion, after reading other reviews, that Hilton HQ has been notified and they are scrambling to make this place more acceptable. We will be reaching out to Hilton as well. Completely unacceptable. We ended up checking out the next day due to a continuous headache which we think came on from the mold/pee/old dirty carpet smells in the room.

Excellent service, super comfortable, delicious breakfast, and the BEST Housekeeping Team!!! We were in town to look for housing and the staff here at Homewood Suites was top notch. Everyone is so kind, always said hello, smiling and so very helpful. The ladies hosting the breakfast lounge made sure there was always enough food, kept everything tidy and even offered a serving tray to carry a plate of food back to the room. She went out of her way to help. The Housekeeping Team is phenomenal. They even started our dishwasher while we were out for the day. What a nice surprise to come back to the room too. The front desk staff and manager, Blanca, we’re also so friendly and accommodating. Thank you all so much! Highly recommend staying here! Merry Christmas!

As other reviewers have mentioned, hotel is very old and out of date. Suite had two rooms with AC units, both of which were the old rattler style. One was not working, which was reported, but nothing done about it. One of the keys also stopped working soon after arrival. One of the elevators was also not working. The fold out bed had a paper thin mattress that felt like you were sleeping on the coils. My hip began hurting after about ten minutes. A prison cot would have been more comfortable and the bed also slanted at a 45 degree angle. Room also had a bad smell and ice was only available at the front desk. This is what you get for $400 in Sarasota.
