Very nice hotel, newer and well maintained. It was extremely clean and staff was very friendly. If they only would serve something to eat besides junk that would be appreciated.. Bring back hot breakfast!
A very good stay, clean and quiet. The pool area was very nice but the pool need to be clean often. The staff and cleaning crew were very nice and helpful. Parking and area were very clean. The location was very close to E. Colonial Rd.
We are Diamond Members in the Wyndham Rewards program. We travel with our small dog and an African Grey Parrot. When I was checking in, I was asked if we had pets. I said a parrot and a dog. The clerk told me they did not permit parrots to stay, only dogs. I stated we have stayed in many, many La Quinta’s over the years and our parrot was always welcome. Actually a bit entertaining to guests and staff. Anyway, the clerk called the manager at home to clary. They returned and stated it was okay “this time” but never again. We have stayed in this particular property over eight times. Our two daughters and our grandchildren live very close. We hate that we are not welcome as a family any more.
The staff was good, very nice. It was the condition of the hotel, I didn’t think it was up to la Quinta standards You could see where coroners were cut during construction. Light covers missing in the elevators for the up and down arrows, just bare bulbs. The elevator hand rails were falling off the wall. The panel where the phone is located was recessed liked the paneling had come off the wall. The air conditioner vents in the hallway were dripping condensation down the walls. The floor rubber baseboard was falling off the wall all the way down the hallway. The external door keycard readers only worked some of the time.
All the staff we spoke to were friendly. The room smelled like mold or mildew when we first walked in. The hallways were so hot as soon as we would walk out from our room our glasses would fog up. One elevator was broken upon arrival. The free breakfast should just be snacks. I understand COVID because I am a nurse but what was offered wasn’t considered a breakfast in my opinion. It was quiet and we slept well. Maybe get some new pillows that don’t squish down into pancakes.
