Arrived to the hotel later than expected due to flight delays. Called hotel twice to inform. Several unexplained pending transactions and poor communication with staff/managers when inquiring about the transactions. After speaking with a manager, upon waiting two hours and given the run around- she was still not of any help and unwilling to check into the transactions. Unless you are open to several unexplained pending charges, that you aren’t informed of upfront I would not recommend staying here.
Absolutely great service by the staff. Clean professional and you can order food from the bar and drinks. Take it up to the room and enjoy your down time. Room was extremely clean and the elevators were not overly cleaned to where you can’t stand being in it.
One of the dirtiest hotels I have stayed at in a long time. Unused bathroom toilet tissue roll had blood on it. Carpet had crusty stains. Hair on bathroom floor. Bathroom sink had this brown dirty residue on it. I was grossed out. Obviously the room hadn’t been cleaned (only bedsheets were changed) so we got a refund and checked into another hotel. I DO NOT recommend at all.
Despite some of the more recent negative reviews, the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace (BVP) is an enjoyable stay, especially for families traveling with children. Having stayed at a vast majority of the on-property Disney resorts, the Hilton BVP offers an experience on par with the Disney Moderate level resorts, and at a better price point. The BVP far exceeds the Disney Value level resorts in terms of amenities and service. Like any property, there are pros and cons. Pros - Location - The BVP is an official Disney Hotel and features a 10 minute walk from the resort to Disney Springs. The sidewalk is well lit and very safe. The proximity is a huge plus due to the vast number of dining and entertainment options Disney Springs offers. There is also daily transportation to the different Disney parks via shuttle; however, these are not continuously running throughout the day like they do at the on-property resorts. Location is a far underrated element when it comes to planning a Disney trip, and the BVP puts you very close to the magic — keep in mind that the Disney Value level resorts are often the furthest away on the Disney shuttle. Pros - Pool - The pool is one of the big draws to the BVP, featuring a large pool (don’t have any expectations that this is adult only), a splash area for small children, and a lazy river. There is also a multi-turf area with cornhole and classes/activities for children throughout the day. The pool also features Shades, a pool bar with good service, good drinks, and better than average food. As you might expect, the pool is always busy — especially during the hot afternoons, but never did I feel that it was overcrowded to the point I couldn’t enjoy myself. Pros - Service - I’ve stayed at the BVP several times, and I’ve always found the service to be excellent. From the front desk, the bar tenders, bell hops, managers, etc. I have nothing but positive things to say. Cons - Dated - One of the common themes you will see about BVP is the dated nature of the rooms. While the lobby, pool area, and restaurants are in excellent condition, the rooms themselves do have a tired look about them. It’s not glaring, but the bathrooms are small as is the sink area. This is nothing that detracts from the experience, but an update would certainly increase it. Given the nature of Disney, there is a high volume of small children, so the hallways are noisy and rooms can be loud as well (especially if you have a conjoining room with another family). Cons - Fees/Charges - I’ll preface this by saying, that when you stay at a vacation resort, you have to expect inflated prices on food and beverage. This is certainly the case here. The food at the BVP is tasty, but if you want to avoid some of the charges (which can snowball quickly), I suggest grabbing some snacks and drinks at one of the local grocery stores (located 5-10 minutes away). This especially holds true if you want to enjoy an adult beverage — alcohol can become an expensive commodity at Shades, so if you are looking to save some money — pack a cooler and use the fridge in the room. Overall - It kind of surprises me to see some of the negative feedback. My family enjoys the BVP, and it has always been reliable. I encourage everyone to READ the details before booking. This is a Hilton Resort, so there will be a resort fee (unless you book with Hilton points) and no free breakfast unless you are a Hilton Gold or Diamond member (this always seems to be a complaint I hear from folks checking in at the front desk). I get it, Disney trips are expensive and I love saving a buck. This is the sweet spot of the BVP — great location at a great price. I will state again that the BVP is on par with the majority of Disney Moderate resorts, and far exceeds the Value level (All Star & Pop Century). If you want a 5-Star experience, pony up for the Grand Floridian. During non-COVID precautions, the Disney characters come for a character breakfast at Letterpress, the on-site restaurant. While the Disney theming isn’t as over the top as it is at the Disney resorts, a family can enjoy a ton of the Disney “magic” at the BVP while avoiding a good chunk of the Disney costs.…
Talk about horrible service. We go to check in for our room and we are told that our room was canceled. We never received an email or confirmation number about the cancelation. After the fact the tried to get us a different room with a different view and it was going to cost us EXTRA! They went back to talk to manager which the manager didnt have the courage to come out of the office to speak to us. Very poorly ran operation. Will never come back here again and people will know what type of business you pull. Also by the way dont try to cancel our room and go around and say everything is booked just to come back and say we have rooms available. Seems to me like you guys are picking and choosing your guests. BAD BUSINESS!!!!
