All around, we were blown away by our experience. Stayed here with my wife and two daughters. We loved our trip. The facility is amazing. While we knew it was large, we really didn't anticipate HOW large it is. For those who are not prepared to walk or who have mobility challenges, this must be a consideration. The hotel grounds are staggeringly large. Had we needed to carry heavy bags or such, I would have been frustrated. We opted to drive around the resort to the parks and shopping sites rather than take advantage of the buses. The theming was spectacular. There were so many delightful moments both in the room and on the grounds. We must give our respect to the designers here. They did a remarkable job. The Cast Members were great. One, who was clearly leaving for the day, took the time to greet us and make sure we knew where we were going. (Wow!!) The front desk staff were great when my daughter had a challenge with her magic band. (Ok--her dad actually had the problem and couldn't get it to load properly.) The man, Art, at the desk was kind and gracious. Clearly, he had dealt with this a number of times before. While we didn't think ahead to make dinner reservations (won't forget next time), we were accommodated kindly at Disney Springs for dinner. There was ample live music for us to pass the time while we waited for our table. While I know that there is a serious labor crunch now in Central Florida, I didn't feel that the Cast let me be my problem. The COVID safety measures were more than adequate and we all felt quite safe. All in all, Disney hit it out of the park. We would come back in a heartbeat.

Got massive bites on my legs and arms after the first night. Turns out it was bed bugs. Rooms are tiny and overpriced. Shower is super small. Pools are hot and crowded with whiny kids. Best of all, I had to walk half a mile every day to get to my room. I’m staying off Disney property next time.

My husband, two children and Mom-in-law stayed here for five nights. The cars family suites were perfect for our group. My boys (8 & 3) slept on the table pull out bed. They loved the “magic” of it appearing out of the table. My mom-in-law slept on the couch pull out, which is a full sized bed. There are two rooms & two full bathrooms. Our bed was very comfortable. Our room was quiet at night. Cars suites are not too far from the bus area and dining hall. Cars suites also have a separate pool. The theming is absolutely awesome! You feel like you are in the movie. Art of Animation is not known for its food, but I found that the Turkey & mozzarella sandwich and cupcakes were delicious! The poolside bar smoothies are also tasty. The character waffles were very good. Arcade is now open, but some games do not work. Pools were busy, but not overcrowded and lifeguards did wonderful at monitoring. My boys also enjoyed the Nemo splashpad & playground. Bus transportation to the parks seemed to get us there quickest. We drove ourselves one day and took the bus another to compare. Get in line early for the buses. It does get long. We only took skyliner back to the park and the wait was not long. Skyliner is a ride in and of itself so it is definitely a perk of this resort. Everything was incredible except for the housekeeping situation. Your room is supposed to be serviced every other day. We had to ask repeatedly to get that to happen. That should not be the case at a Disney resort, but, by no means did it ruin our magical stay. Overall, if you are looking for a cost effective resort for a young family, I recommend Cars Suites at Art Of Animation.

Thanks for racing by with your glowing review of Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Christi! I love that our Family Suite was perfect for your family and gave you enough space to spread out after a long day in the Parks. I totally agree, having two bathrooms makes all the different in the world! I’m thrilled to read that you took advantage of our complimentary transportation offerings and left the traveling to us, whether it be along the Disney Skyliner or on one of our buses. Long post but here goes... Sharing a few observations from our 5 day stay at Art of Animation last week. I am 63, daughter is 35 and granddaughter is 3. Booking only 6 weeks ago literally this was the only resort that had a room for less than $350.00 a night so I took a Little Mermaid Room, it was $245.00 with the summer discount. I have never stayed in this particular resort before and after this stay I will never do it again. I will stay at an off property resort if necessary. I knew the walk to any transportation was said to be long. What I did not realize is there is literally 1 bus stop and the other side between Pop and AOA is where you enter the skyliner to service the ENTIRE RESORT (which is huge). The lines were insane early in the morning for either of these options with a wait of at least half an hour. We got in the car and drove to the park. The summer heat last week was INTENSE!! The walk with a toddler that age that wants to walk and not ride is crazy long, especially in the heat to get to any of the resort transportation. While there is a pool at this section... the big blue pool all the way up at the main check in is the best pool by far for the kiddos. That pool was really awesome. But not enough to entice me to stay again. Food was typical and pretty bad. Then we NEVER got room service, they did not take out the trash a single time nor even leave plastic trash can liners in the room. Never came to change towels or pick them up, I signed up for every 2 day service when I booked. End of Day 2, I picked up some trash can liners from a maids cart and from then on did what everyone around me was doing...put my trash outside my door along with a bag of dirty towels. By day 3 I finally asked one of the housekeepers around 4 PM if anyone was going to come by with some clean towels. She shrugged and said we are very busy and your room is not on the schedule and handed me some more towels. Then we went to dinner and when we returned they had dropped some additional towels in the bathroom but not a single roll of toilet paper so I finally had to call room service and ask them to bring it up. I mentioned that we had never had anyone come pick up trash or anything and was basically told...we will be right up with the toilet paper. The mermaid room is a total of 500 square feet. Only 3 drawers in the room to put any clothes in so you pretty much had to live out of your suitcases. That gets old pretty quick since the only place to slide them is under the beds. I have been to Disney resorts 5 times in the last year. This was by far such a bad experience that if it were my first trip it would be my last staying at one of their resorts. I have many good things to say about how nice our stays have always been in the other moderate resorts. Unless you are paying $450 a night for a suite farther up I would not even glance here again. And even then you still have to contend with one bus drop for the entire resort. If you plan to stay here I would not plan to take the buses anywhere and just plan to drive to DS and the parks. Hope this information helps someone else not make this mistake.

Hi there, Dolly! Thank you for taking the time to share some feedback from your recent visit to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. While I’m thrilled you enjoyed taking a dip in the Big Blue Pool, I’m disheartened to read that is where the excitement ended. Although you have visited with us numerous times over the past year, this visit fell extremely short and I am so sorry. Please know our Front Desk Cast Members are always available to assist in ensuring your visit is comfortable and memorable. Furthermore, never hesitate to stop by and speak with a member of our Leadership team with any concerns you may have. I appreciate you stopping by with your review and I hope we have another opportunity to host your family for a more memorable experience real soon. Zoey Disney Social Reviews

Overpriced food. Rude employees. And the sky liner was down the entire time we were there, resulting in us waiting 30 minutes for any bus anywhere at the very least. Room was 20 minutes from the front desk and cafeteria, which is awful. Bus drivers were rude as well. Disney is “Magically Aggravating.” What a waste of money. Save your money and go to universal or somewhere who cares about their customers.

Thank you for taking the time to share a review of your recent Resort stay. I’m glad you were able to come and visit us, but I’m sorry to read of your disappointments with your room location and transportation offerings. Please know you are always welcome to speak with our Front Desk Cast Members whenever your room location isn’t perfect for your stay. Our Cast Members will be happy to ensure your accommodations are as comfortable and relaxing as can be. If you stay at one of our other Value or Moderate Resort hotels, may I suggest during your next visit booking one of our Preferred Rooms? These rooms are centrally located to the Front Desk, main dining areas, as well as our transportation offerings, which allows for less walking after a long day exploring the Parks. I’m disheartened to learn our bus transportation and Disney Skyliner put a damper on your visit. We certainly want to ensure our transportation offerings are reliable and convenient for our Guests, and I sincerely apologize for the delays you experienced. Please know our Resort partners will have visibility to your feedback, as we utilize Guest feedback to ensure we’re always providing the highest level of service and our Cast Members are reflecting the kind and compassionate service for which we are known. We appreciate the time you took to share your experience and we hope that we will get the chance to see you again soon! Zoey Disney Social Reviews
