We stayed here in August in a queen room and was so impressed with this hotel. The rooms are big, with good air-con and lovely decor. A standard room has a tv, safe, small fridge, coffee maker, iron & board and a hairdryer. Beds are so comfortable and the rooms have a good shower, toilet with separate sink/vanity area. I liked the little touches such as ice dispensers on each floor, water bottle refill stations, free toiletries that are restocked with each room clean, free to use pool towels and numerous charging stations in the room and in the seated public areas. The on-site cafe is great, especially if you have kids. Lots of breakfast items, snacks, ice cream and meals to eat in or take out. Pizzas are good. The refillable Endless Summer cups are a great idea and saved us a fortune on soft drinks. They can be refilled around the pool or in the cafe and extra days are just $3 per day. They can even be used for coffee in the cafe/or to go. Staff are a credit to the hotel and very helpful. As we were staying for three weeks we were given a reduction in our on-site hotel parking, half price! I thought this was a lovely gesture. The parking lot is great as it’s covered so your car doesn’t get hot, a godsend in August! The pool area is lovely with plenty of beds, shades and safe for families as the water isn’t too deep. There are jackets available for children to use in the pool and they offer free swim nappies too. We didn’t use the laundry facilities but they looked good and are available on two floors in each tower of the hotel. As some reviewers have commented you can hear people in adjacent rooms on a morning and maybe coming back after the parks but it’s not a dealbreaker. I think some of it is due to there being connecting doors between rooms. I didn’t find it a problem. I liked where the hotel was situated, easy to find and near lots of our favourite eateries such Red Lobster, Denny’s and IHOP. There’s a good sized Walgreen’s just over the road too. Great stay!

We stayed here for 2 weeks in September 2019

We were on the 5th floor in a standard room. Unfortunately we didn't have a great view however that didn't matter that much to us as we were out most of the time anyway!

The hotel itself is lovely. One of the main benefits we used was the water from the machines in the restaurant area or the water fountains.

NOTE - you can use the Cola machines for Ice and water if you bring your own bottles. We didn't purchase the refillable cups as we don't drink fizzy juice often. We just brought our own water bottles and filled with ice and water from the Cola machines or filled with water from the free fountains.

The rooms cleaned regularly. We often put our DND sign on the outside of the door as some days our rooms just didnt need a clean etc. There's an ironing board and iron available in the room and a small fridge to keep water/juice and small foods.

Points to note:
No kettle (I'm aware there are coffee machines in the family rooms but nothing of the sort in the standard rooms)
We had a room with an adjoining room. If we were sharing with our family we wouldn't have minded so much however we could sometimes hear the other people in this room which made us feel at times that we didn't have much privacy. However, because we weren't in the room much it didn't bother us too much.

The restaurant was fine and the food was good however we did find it quite expensive. We often went to the Walgreens across the road and stocked up our fridge with snacks.

Would stay again!

Stayed at Endless Summer Surfside and felt it was a good value for the money. It was a less busy time (Monday-Tuesday), so we didn't experience any of the noise issues some have mentioned. What sounds we did hear were comparable to the sound transfer seen in modern apartments, which if you're not used to can seem intrusive.

The room was clean and I found the beds/pillows comfortable, though I agree that the linens and towels were 'walmart cheapie' quality in terms of thickness and scratchiness. These are issues I consider minor considering it was still half the price of Cabana Bay (where we usually stay) for the same dates.

The pool area was well kept and the common areas were clean.

My only disappointment was the little grill cafe. I was expecting something similar to Cabana Bay's Bayliner Diner but scaled down. The one at Endless Summer Surfside was unappealing to me and the grab and go items were very much priced for convenience. That said, there are dozens of places around the area to eat ranging from fast food to sit down service family restaurants as well as a Walgreens around the corner. As we were spending most of our time at Universal Studios, we just planned ahead after the first night and either ate at the park or at one of the City Walk spots before taking the shuttle back to the hotel.

Similar to Cabana Bay, this location offers a Starbucks, heated pool, small gaming room, pool side bar, and a small fitness center. It also offers shuttle buses to Universal/Citywalk that leave about every 15-20 minutes, and early park admission to Diagon Alley/Universal.

I would definitely stay here again, as the money saved by staying here vs the other locations gives me more to spend at the parks themselves, and we're really only at the hotel to sleep!

*I had reserved a standard room but we received a complementary upgrade to a suite when we checked in. The '2 room' suite featured 3 queen beds, one of which was in its own room with a second TV. The other 2 are in the main area same as a standard room would have. It also included a kitchenette with sink, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.

Positives:
Decor is cute
Room was spacious
Clean and new
Fast shuttle to parks (free)

Areas of concern:
1) The towels. Scratchy and small. I’ve had better towels in a hospital.
2) The “room refresh.” When on vacation you expect to have your bed made, trash taken out, and clean towels daily. Tonight, upon return to our room we had non of this. When I called to ask for towels I was told that they do a “light refresh” every few days. I’ve never heard of this in a hotel. Really? We get four towels for a family of four (that are very tiny btw) and we only get new towels every three days? That’s insane.
3) Although the food was adequate, there was not a ton of variety. We stayed for 8 nights and were sick of the food after two days. It’s cafeteria style with nothing being homemade.
4) We has some snacks and were told we could only eat food bought at the hotel by the pool. As my husband said, pure money grab. This policy was posted nowhere and the pool attendant had to tell several families to put their chips away. It’s a budget hotel so they can assume we are all on a budget. They didn’t have many snack items available for purchase, and zero food available at the pool bar so what do they expect?
5) Several other reviews noted that there is very little soundproofing and I would have to agree. The walls are thin meaning a good nights sleep is hard to come by.
6) Many hotels we have stayed in have had pool activities for kids. This resort has none. With very little to keep my boys (6 and 9) entertained, they quickly became bored. There was one ping pong table and some sad hula hoops but that was it.
7) The WiFi was spotty at best. Several times we lost connection,
8) Lack of storage. We are a family of four as mentioned and there were only 3 tiny drawers for clothes.

Overall, when you are on vacation, all these concerns should not be. I do not think I would stay here again.

We had a fabulous holiday last August staying here. First time for all of us in Florida and it was a magical holiday. The hotel staff were phenomenal and went out of there way to help.
We upgraded on arrival to a two bed room. It was well worth the money and we were given the option to choose where we wanted the room ( either pool facing or lake facing )
I was travelling with a 17 year old and 15 year old. The room was perfect, we had our own room and they had a double bed each, With a tv and full cable channels. The to has a microwave, fridge and coffee machine
The pool was inviting, clean and had a great atmosphere. The bar was friendly and a great place to hang.
The buses run to universal studios and volcano Bay every 5 minutes and the drivers were great.
It’s located on the on international drive with a IHOP bus stop outside. We use to cut through the car park to get to international drive and we always felt safe.
We used the laundry room ( located on each floor) on a few occasions and found it handy and cheap.
We experienced on a few occasions at night slight noise. But nothing out of the ordinary, just excited families returning from a day at the parks.
Beautiful hotel and hopefully I will return one day.

I was a bit concerned by some of the negative reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. We were a party of 6 booking a standard room and a 2bed room suite, upon arrival we were given a complimentary upgrade to two suites with pool views. We had asked for quiet rooms and were located at the end of the corridor on floor 6 they were perfect. The room size is fantastic and everything you need. Everywhere around the hotel is spotlessly clean, the pool area fantastic with life guards that did a superb job and were very thorough you could see them checking sections of the pool constantly. All the staff were great in all sections cafe, Starbucks and reception and house keeping. The food prices were really reasonable kids meal $5 large slice of pizza, breadstick and a drink. Room service also really good for pizza if you have had a long day in the park. The buses also were really quick making it stress free travelling. There was a gate to international drive or you can also walk through the car park to exit which gives you access to walk down the strip there’s lots of restaurants close by or a short Uber ride. We also did crazy golf next to the hotel to kill some time before leaving that was good fun. Overall I would defiantly recommend

Our family of four stayed here for three nights the first week of February. The room was spacious and well appointed with modern amenities. The shower was great, and I really like the water control knob located opposite side of the shower head, making it convenient to get the right temperature before entering. Location is very convenient to Universal theme parks, with local shops and eateries within walking distance. The bus pickup is simply outside the door. Bus transportation was timely, and we had bus waiting nearly every time we wished to ride it. There is small food court area, though we did not use it this time. We did not use the pool or pool bar either, though they looked very appealing. I would stay here again.

So typically when we travel, we tend to stay at an apartment for a weekly rental. However this time it was more economical to stay at a Universal Resort and we decided on the Surfside Inn and let me tell you I’m so glad we made the decision. The hotel is new and beautiful, the room was a good size for the price and all the advertised services were right on point. The staff were able to accommodate placing another family we were staying with to be directly next door for the duration of the trip.

Housekeeping came everyday and cleaned up and dropped off fresh towels. We never had to wait for a shuttle as there was always one waiting to the park, including the 3 days we used our early access to get to Diagon Alley as soon as possible. As many other people have said the pizza was delicious and was a cheap way to feed the 7 of us on several nights. Oh and the pool was perfect as well, even though it was no deeper than 4 feet.

I highly recommend this resort to any families looking to save money but still have easy direct access to the parks!

Recently stayed here with my family. Hotel was booked as a part of a universal vacation package. Check in was super easy, temperature checks daily and the pick up location for the shuttle was super close to our room so we didn’t have to walk far. There are 3 restaurant options located in the hotel such as Starbucks and two hotel specific restaurants. You can get food and alcoholic beverages sent up straight to your room which was rather convenient. Check out was a breeze I just texted a number to check out. The reason I am giving this hotel a four-star instead of a five star is because the bed was extremely hard, like uncomfortable hard. It was so bad that we had to call down for extra blankets and pillows to try to make a pallet on top of the bed to sleep on to get some comfort

Chose this resort because it was new, big mistake! The lobby was huge and unimpressive. Employees at desk were not very helpful or friendly. We did have one young , blonde female (wish I had a name) that was great. The cafe was ok, gift shop was nice. From here it goes down hill. Pool area and pool were ok but nothing special. No hot tub?? There were two laundry rooms, each with three rather smaller washers and dryer costing $3.50 each, for hundreds of residents? We waited over three hours to wash a load and it was two in morning by the time finished drying. Not family friendly! Now the room! Absolutely no place to put anything! No dressers, no shelves and no actual end/bed tables unless you consider a board roughly 3 x 5 a night stand. There were three small drawers in living room ( why not to ceiling?) There were a row of little colored hooks maybe 3 feet of ground to hang maybe doll clothes on but even most of those were missing! Ironically we were asked to go green and reuse towels, to please hang? Hang were? No towel racks or hooks and there was a close line apparatus in shower but had no string (was not fixed in a week). The towels were rag quality, Dollar store ones would have been better. Beds were ok but bottom sheets stopped six inches above bottom of bed and your feet were on the mattress cover where how many other people’s feet rested? The kitchenette did have a mini frig but again one shelf. No storage. This is a New Resort? Not comfortably family friendly unless you like living in a chaotic mess. Very disappointing.

The Cabana Bay doesn't compare to any Endless Summer hotel, both Dockside and Surfside. Cabana Bay is mid-tier and located next to Volcano Bay, which is a very cool water park. I would go to Volcano Bay without hesitation.
