We planed a sort of last minute, late spring trip during COVID times, and we wanted to rent DVC points. OKW was the only resort available, so while it wouldn't have been our first choice during normal times we decided to take a chance. It was WONDERFUL! The pluses: It's a beautiful resort, and it's very quiet. For some this would obviously be a con, but for our family it was exactly what we wanted. We were on the 2nd floor and heard just a hint of noise above us, but it wasn't at all intrusive. We were in Building 28 and the location was great. It's across the bridge from the pool/hospitality house but the walk was only 5 minutes and it was right by the first bus stop in the resort. This was a huge advantage because we never had a problem getting on a bus no matter how busy it was, and we were the first dropped off at the end of the day. (It takes about 15-20 min for the buses to go through the resort, so first drop off was a nice plus!) The balcony was such a great feature of the room too, and ours looked over the golf course. My husband and I had a lovely time watching the golfers as we enjoyed a glass of wine at the end of the day or some coffee in the morning. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it was absolutely massive, truly like a sparkling clean apartment and not a hotel room. The kids could spread out and do their own thing in the second bedroom, and we could either sit outside, in the living room, or even in our master bedroom after they went to bed. Having a full kitchen was a huge perk too, complete with an adequate amount of cookware, glassware, and dishes. I didn't want to cook on vacation, but one night we did heat up some frozen food for dinner after a long park day, and we ate most breakfasts in the room. As for the rest of the resort, we really enjoyed the 3 dinners and 1 breakfast we ate at Olivia's (although the menu was somewhat limited, maybe due to COVID?). The main pool was not exactly spectacular but it had enough fun features to keep us all entertained, especially the slide, and we had no issues getting chairs. The kids also had tons of fun with the ping pong and shuffleboard. We also participated in one of the daily craft activities in the community room (for an extra fee), and while we didn't use them they had games, movies, and other entertainment items you could rent. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. There wasn't daily housekeeping, but we were able to get the linens changed on one bed after a nighttime accident, which was great. Having a full size washer and dryer was so nice too, as we didn't have to pack as many clothes as we might have otherwise! There is a small bottle of detergent good for 2 washes. The (minor) cons: The bathrooms were huge, but they weren't particularly special. The master shower was very, very slippery so watch out! It also got water all over the floor. The kids tried out the whirlpool tub one night and it blew out gross debris, so we never tried it again. I wish there were more food options at the resort. The lack of a true counter service option is definitely a deal breaker for many people, and I admit it was a bit of an issue for us. One of my kids has food allergies, and there really was nothing at the poolside counter service that he could eat, so we were limited to Olivia's. (And even Olivias didn't have everything on the allergy menu if you mobile ordered. They had a different allergy menu to what you got inside the restaurant, which was frustrating. They did a wonderful job inside the restaurant though, and we felt the meals were very safe for the kiddo.) I did grab a salad for myself at the poolside place one day and it was good, so if you do need a quick bite it's not a bad option, just limited. We made do, and between eating in the room and eating at Olivia's it kept us happy and full. The resort is also very spread out. Our room was close enough to everything that it never was an issue, but I imagine if you were staying in one of the farther buildings you would feel very far from the action. You'd need to either take the bus internally, use your car, or be prepared for a looooong walk. Despite these very minor cons, we truly loved OKW. We've stayed at a couple Disney resorts, and OKW definitely felt special. As long as you aren't looking for a ton of food choices at the resort and don't mind either paying for closer access or walking a ways to get to amenities, this is a spectacular resort that feels like something different. We would absolutely stay there again!

Hello, and thank you so much for taking some time to share your review of your recent stay with us at Disney's Old Key West Resort. I'm excited to read that you decided to give this Resort a try and discovered the charm and beauty of this tranquil community of Conch Flats. It's always a great stay in a place with a relaxing atmosphere that allows you to enjoy a great cup of coffee in the morning and unwind at the end of a busy day and it sounds like your balcony was that perfect spot. I'm also glad that you took advantage of our on-site dining and other great amenities such as our pools and our complimentary transportation. I do want to apologize for the small little bumps that you ran into during your stay including the slippery shower and our food options to accommodate your kiddos. I will be sharing your feedback on these issues with the appropriate Leadership team. I'm excited you found a new home at Old Key West, and we can't wait to welcome you back again real soon! OKW is one of our home resorts and we've stayed at OKW twice now. We love the size of the nicely themed villas. The beautiful grounds are well kept and very scenic. Two modes of transportation are a plus. Pool is great. Staff is attentive, knowledgable and friendly. The biggest problem with OKW is the lack of a good counter serve eatery. There is literally just a counter at which to order. The small area gets very crowded and there is no place to wait. Lots of jostling around The menu is limited. Once you get your food there are just a few outdoor tables to eat at that quickly fill up. There is no area to sit down and eat in air conditioned comfort. Other Disney Vacation Club resorts have nice quick serve areas with a more extensive menu and a nice air conditioned spot to eat. To us this is a huge drawback to OKW!

As a member of our Disney Vacation Club family I’m so happy we could welcome you home for another memorable visit. I’m thrilled to read that your Villa was ideal and gave everyone in your family space to spread out and relax after an long day at the Parks. I'm also glad to hear our transportation offerings were top notch, ensuring seamless travel between your Resort and our Theme Parks and Disney Springs. Although your visit was magical, I apologize you didn’t experience the same wow factor with the dining options available. Did you know you could utilize our Mobile Order service and order from Olivia’s Café as well? I’d have to say being able to order from many of our Table-Service restaurants and taking it back to your Villa is a real game-changer. I appreciate you sharing this feedback as well, rest assured I will be sharing this with the Resort Leadership team to ensure we are providing out Guest with memorable dining experiences. Thank you so much for your review, and I hope we have the opportunity to see you again real soon! Zoey Disney Social Reviews

We've stayed at a lot of the Disney World hotels, and we prefer to stay at one that is close to the parks. However, for this trip we decided to try Old Key West. Our trip was during limited capacity time during Covid, and the parks were not originally going to be open at night. We thought we'd be spending more time than usual in our room and at Disney Springs (for dinners), so it seemed like a good time to try this resort. As it turned out, the parks were open in the evening and we only went to Disney Springs once. Still, we were really happy with this property. We had a two bedroom suite which was incredibly spacious and beautifully decorated. I especially loved the porch which was large enough for a table and 4 chairs. The bathrooms were huge, and the washer and dryer were a great convenience. We drove to all the parks, and that worked great. There wasn't much traffic (I assume due to Covid), so we got everywhere really quickly. I loved being able to park the car right outside our room. At most of the Disney hotels it can be a very long walk from your room to your car (or to Disney transportation). We did not eat at the restaurant, but we did get takeaway, and it was convenient. The main pool was crowded and had loud music. I went to one of the smaller pools and it was heavenly, and quiet. The only downside to this hotel is the price -- it is expensive! Even with a sale. But you get a lot for your money. I would consider staying here again, but in general, I prefer the Epcot hotel area with the ability to walk to Epcot and Disney Studios. If you need -- or prefer to have -- lots of space, though, I would highly recommend Old Key West.

Thank you for visiting with us at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and I appreciate the time you took to share a review of your family’s recent stay. I’m thrilled to read that your 2 Bedroom Villa had all the comforts of home and allowed everyone in your party enough space to relax after a long day exploring the Parks. Although the main feature pool wasn’t as relaxing as you’d hoped for, I’m glad you were able to find an escape at one of our leisure pools throughout the Resort. Isn’t utilizing our Mobile Order service a great addition? I have to agree it is certainly convenient to just order from Olivia’s Café and enjoy a wonderful meal back in your Villa. Although the location of Old Key West isn’t the most ideal for your family, I do want to thank you for taking the time to visit another one of our wonderful Resorts. No matter where your next adventure takes you, we can’t wait to welcome you back home again real soon. Zoey Disney Social Reviews

We returned to Old Key West, our first Disney vacation Club member resort. It was as nice as we remember. The accommodations were great, Olivia's restaurant was enjoyable, and brought back fun memories. Looking forward to returning.

Beautifully manicured, island feel on golf course. No elevators. 3 to 4 story buildings. Recommend car over busses if staying as owner guest or RCI exchange. Very large property. Rooms are largest of all resorts on Disney property Maximum occupants enforced with room security checks. Close to Disney Springs and Epcot. Nice staff. Drinks by pool watered down and pricey. Would stay again.

The quiet and relaxation offered at this Resort cannot be matched, and I’m thrilled you had such an unforgettable experience.
