When we got to Machadodorp, I was quite nervous to book into Elands River Lodge, as many guesthouses in the area were quite run down. But what a lovely surprise! The chalet we stayed in was spotless, no chipped crockery, clean linen and towels, even a hairdryer and torch. The owner was also most helpful and friendly. Our chalet also had DSTV and a private braai area. I can highly recommend Elands River Lodge

Lovely chalet equipped with everything one would need. Hosts very friendly. For chilly evenings there is a heater in every room. Close enough for a day trip to Dullstroom.
Neat and cosy and we will visit again.

We stayed one night here on our way to Kruger. We got a free upgrade to the family cabin because of our honeymoon, which we appreciated a lot! The cabin is very large, has a tv and good facilities for self catering. We liked our stay for one night.

The lodge does offer Wifi, but this is for a short period (about 30 mins) because there is only one receiver. We did feel that the interior needed some finishing touches on some points. Nothing big.

The host is friendly and the lodge offers a nice front yard with a pond. There are also lots of birds, we even saw a beautiful pygmy kingfisher there.

We love the whole experience. The accommodation is excellent. The staff Riette and Anni is wonderful. There is not a want for anything. But the stench outside is horrific. My son couldn't handle it, I asked and they said something about the municipal sewer or pipe line. I would visit again. Hoping the smell has passed.

A very clean, tidy and comfortable chalet. All the facilities that you would want with a chalet. It is a very safe place. The high trees are pretty. There is unfortunately no shops where you can buy anything. Otherwise a nice place for a breakaway but not much to do in the vicinity.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The chalet had everything we needed and more. Well kept, beautiful, and comfortable. Our host even brought us coffee water on Sunday morning when the power was out. Exceptional.

Came across Elands River Lodge by chance. Beautiful little compound with a collection of alpine-style chalets. Very comfortable and well-equipped. The owner, DeLon, was extremely helpful in welcoming us and, as we arrived fairly late, starting a fire in the braai. A nice surprise.
