As a diamond member, I have stayed in plenty of Hilton hotels and this DoubleTree property needs some work. The lobby is nice enough and the front desk staff is polite and efficient; but, beyond the lobby, the experience deteriorates. It is showing signs of wear and it also, at the very least, needs to be thoroughly cleaned. The door to the balcony of my room was nearly impossible to open which is probably why the balcony needed to be cleaned as there were broken beer bottles there. I don't know how anyone could get out there to clean it. I could only get my arm out the door. I did report the broken bottles to the front desk when I checked out. This is not the worst experience I have had in a hotel but I do expect more from a DoubleTree. I am giving this review 3 stars because the front desk staff was exceptional.…
Just stayed for one night ahead of a flight to Jamaica, and we really enjoyed our stay! Hotel was busy, but we never felt crowded. Very clean environment and everyone wears masks and social distances. Although the bar opens at 5:00pm, we noticed a man setting things up at around 4pm and he let us sit at the bar, made us drinks and we had a thoughtful and engaging conversation. Though he wasn’t the bartender (he’s a manager,) Bobby was the perfect host and made some incredible mojitos! Great location if you’re going to the airport (probably Port of Miami, too, if we ever start cruising again!) very nice facilities and amazing staff! We will always stay here when flying out of MIA.
I stayed here two nights following flight cancellations. After having stayed at the Sheraton nearby, the Double Tree was an improvement. This hotel is very, very busy, and it shows. Check in later in the evening (10-11pm) was slower than I would have expected, but the staff were polite. I did have to ask for my complimentary cookie, which I've not had to do at other Double Tree properties. I'm glad I booked through a third party site because a woman walking in was quoted a rate $100 higher for that same night as I ended up paying. So, say what you will about trying to book ahead of time, but this made me roll my eyes and consider again the blight that is corporate greed. The rooms were about as clean as you can now expect post-COVID (which is to say... kind of clean. I guess stains on the floor and dust are here to stay. People continue to book in this peak season so the hotel has little reason to care, and they are understaffed anyway.). The bed was very comfortable. I do wish the music volume in the lobby and dining areas could be turned down. I found it obnoxiously loud. I get that it's Miami, but we don't need to be in club mode 24-7.…
Terrible Hilton property. Worn out, filthy and poor service. 3 times to front desk to get key working. Requested service for A/C not cold and dirty/greasy windows. Never showed to address the issues. Restaurant service excruciating slow and in attentive. Carpets ripped and dirty. Furniture worn out and dirty. Closet door hanging off hinges. As a Diamond member I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Look elsewhere.
We’ve stayed at this hotel before, sixth times, and we are totally disappointed now. The room is very dirty, bathtub clogged, tore curtains, filthy carpet, dust everywhere. We stayed in room 1201. Cleaning lady missed 5 days in our 10 day stay, and we asked for cleaning every day. The other five days when the room was “cleaned”, the only thing that the cleaning lady did was change the towels and make the beds, no vacuuming, no dusting, no cleaning. Reception kept checking us out of the room, the supervisor was rude once we asked what was going on. He told us to pack our bags and leave! In a very rude tone. And we had already paid for the 10 days stay! We called the manager, he said he would fix our reservation, but every day our keys would stop working and we had to wait until someone would give us new keys. This usually took 30 minutes. We are very disappointed in this hotel, as Hilton Honors members, this is the worst hotel of the chain. Book somewhere else, it’s not worth the trouble.…
MY wife and I stayed at this hotel from May 19-May 23rd 2022. The last time we were there was March 2019. First I would like to mention a few staff members. Daniel working at the front desk was always nice and professional. Marcello who worked at the restaurant always greeted us with a great smile in the morning and gave us the table we wanted. Also made sure coffee was hot and given to us immediately. TY Daniel and Marcello. The next staff member I would like to mention is a ENGINEER NAMED BERNARD. On Saturday morning I was at the Pool at approximately 8AM. I noticed this person walking around the pool area and checking everything out including picking up litter. WOW I said to myself. I went over to him and saw his name tag. I also saw ENGINEER. I started asking him an array of questions regarding the Jacuzzi and the Pool. Mr. Bernard was polite and answered all my questions. I even starting asking him questions about the pond that was near the Pool. Mr. Bernard is very nice but more importantly he is VERY SERIOUS REGARDING HIS JOB and responsibilities surrounding the DOUBLE TREE HOTEL. I am pointing this out because good help is hard to find. Staff members who care is hard to find. Staff members that know their job is hard to find. Major kudos to the Double Tree who made the decision to hire Mr. Bernard. I believe he is a major asset to this hotel. If you are looking for a hotel that is clean with excellent staff look no where else. Also if you see Mr. Bernard dont be afraid to ask him anything. He will know the answer and give you a nice hello. If you see him tell him Vinny from New York says hello.…
This hotel exceeded my expectations. I have to be honest, when I booked this hotel for a pre-cruise overnight stay for a group I was a little concerned, because of many reviews I read. Well, upon my arrival I was very happy with the service I received. Claudia was amazing to work with. The front desk personnel were friendly and helpful as well. Oliver assisted me with everything I needed. The hotel was very clean. The restaurant was clean and the food was delicious. The bar and bar food were wonderful. I wish it had stayed open just a little longer. I believed it closed at 11:00pm. The pool area was beautiful and very clean. I loved the friendly iguanas running around. I think everyone enjoyed them. The rooms were spacious, clean, beds comfortable. No complaints. The hotel airport shuttle was wonderful. The driver was kind and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel for individuals and groups. Anytime in Miami, this will be my go to hotel.…
The toilet in the room I checked in to was not flushing. I called the front desk and they sent a maintenance man who was unfriendly and didn’t speak English. He plunged the toilet and left. In about an hour I used it and it didn’t flush again. I called downstairs again & they sent back the same man who came back annoyed, uncovered the toilet, did some work and then left without saying he was finished and left the tank uncovered. I then called and spoke to the Manager who apologized and said he would speak to him. But the toilet was not fixed so I had to call him back and he said the maintenance guy said it couldn’t flush toilet paper so I told him I needed a new room with a functioning toilet and he said come down for a new key. I had to ask him to have someone bring it up. I moved to the new room next door. In that room the telephone was not working and the technicians were called 3 times as they did not fix it properly the previous times. The rooms normally have a microwave but there was none in the room. They told me I could come to the front desk to use a microwave there to warm food. Very inconvenient, especially as I was there for 10 days. They advertise Room service as sn amenity but when I called they said room service was not available. They always have a shuttle service to Miami airport and usually the drivers drop passengers off at departures according to the airline they are flying with. The driver who took us on May 10th 2022 at 12pm was so lazy, he picked up passengers at Arrivals first and then dropped us off at Arrivals. I had to walk with my 2 suitcases up a level and all the way to the end of the airport where the airline was. This was very poor service. I was very displeased with Doubletree by Hilton Miami. I have stayed many times there and this was the worst experience I ever had there or anywhere else. I would not recommend this hotel.…
I am a Diamond member with Hilton. I stayed at this Hotel one night before I went on a Cruise. My room was clean and comfortable. It was a good size. Customer service was great. All were nice. I had dinner in the evening at their bar and my sandwich was excellent. I did use their pool and all was good there. No bar outside by the pool. They did have towels outside. No bathroom on the first floor by the bar was not the best. Had to go to second floor!?!? They do have pick-up from the airport. I took a cab at it was $23.00. I read some of the earlier bad reviews. I did not experience this. Some of the Double Trees are getting older, but my one night stay was good. They have a small mall attached to hotel. I did not find that interesting.
Worst hotel experience in my life , my wife and I registered in this hotel on may 14 around 9-10 pm , we were taking a flight home the next day and needed a place to stay, incredibly around 2:15 am a so call front desk manager named Luis came to the room that was assigned to us by the front desk staff on check in ( room number 1019) , he knocked on the door saying that we were not supposed to be in that room , because the name on the room was different from my name?, I refused to open the door to an stranger at night , then he when back and called the room again ( 2:20 am) with the same argument!!!!, basically telling us that we were not supposed to be there , I express to him that If it was a mistake was there mistake and we were not going to talk to him until noon time ( check out time ) , any way I when my down to complaint around 3:00 pm and found the same person at the lobby and he trow us out of the hotel treating us with calling security. This Luis guy is the worst costumer care associate or manager I have encountered in my life, please avoid this hotel us fealty , smell bad and treat their customers like a bag of excrement.…
