Reunion Resort, a AAA Four Diamond-rated property located less than seven miles from Disney, features one to three-bedroom luxury villas and multi-bedroom vacation homes. The resort's accommodations are highlighted by the Reunion Grande, an 11-story hotel tower with stunning lobby and bar, exquisite décor, and elegantly appointed meeting space. Reunion is second to none when it comes to golf. It is the only location in the United States to have signature-design golf courses by golf greats Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Watson in one location. Reunion's additional amenities are great for groups, families, couples, and those traveling alone. The resort features six restaurants, six lighted Hydro-grid tennis courts, 11 community pools, and a water park that includes a zero-entry pool, waterslide, and a 1,000-foot lazy river. There are also a number of outdoor activities such as bicycles or golf cart rentals.

My family and I stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and we enjoyed all of the amenities. The villa was very clean and spacious. The Landscaping and grounds were very well kept. Will definitely stay here again when my family and I plan our next vacation.

The fairways look dry, the public areas are looking dated, the staff no longer care. I have been coming here since it opened when Bobby Ginn started it all and back when it was luxurious. However, every owner ever since has cut corners to save money and the current owner is certainly no exception to this rule.

Overall, we had a great time staying at Reunion Resort, except for some hassles checking in. In researching the resort, I noticed most of the complaints were from parties who missed out on access to amenities because they didn’t know the “rules” around having a membership or using a preferred rental partner of Reunion Resort. Unfortunately, despite doing my research and reading the fine print, using the Reunion Resort website to book an authorized home, I still had issues! Most of the issues can be chalked up to poor communication processes. The official rental partner was Florida Vacation Homes dba Reunion Vacation Homes (RVH). I did not receive check-in information until I was on the ground in Orlando. The check-in email says you need to print it out to show security - how the am I supposed to do that when I just landed at MCO? Thankfully, the guards at the gate will look at the email on your phone. I had no information about how to access the amenities, even though I was careful to follow the process during booking to make sure I had access. I called RVH and they said they would re-send the QR code email that I did not receive initially. Upon touring pool areas and other amenities, I noticed there were no QR code readers! I popped by the Grande Tower lobby and inquired and they told me there that the QR code was only good for the water park! “But I followed the rules and used the Reunion Resort website to find an official partner to book a property that had a membership”. “Sorry, we don’t know anything about that.” So then I had to make another phone call to RVH, and then they told me I had to go to the RVH office to get a key card, which is down the road. I could have done this the evening before when I was getting groceries if I had known that! Instead, I lost a few hours of my first full day dealing with that hassle. If I had the key card, I also would not have had to wait in some long lines at the guard gate to get in either. All of this could have been avoided with better communication at the beginning. I recognize most of the blame falls on RVH for this, but the Reunion staff seemed to be clueless as well, and I feel they should have been a little more educated on the process of how things work with “official resort partners”. I did start my booking at the official Reunion Resort website. Whenever you have a problem, the various parties are quick to “pass the buck”. The rental company will place blame for something on the resort. The resort will place blame on the rental company. Where’s the arcade? Oh, that was the HOA’s decision to remove it. We stayed in RVH_049R as shown on the Reunion Resort booking website, which is in the Cabana Court Villas “neighborhood”. This is perfect if you want to be in walking distance to the water park. I would highly recommend Cabana Court or Villas South for families that intend to heavily use the waterpark. There is a parking lot across the street from the water park if you’re staying further away. The water park was perfect for our kids (ages 6 and 3). I think it’s best suited for kids 10 and under, older than that may get bored quick. There is one slide that the 3 year old couldn’t go down, although the first day the guard allowed it with a parent holding the child under 42 inches. Every day after that the guards would not allow it. The slide is so gentle that it seems silly a parent cannot hold a young child, but we knew that rule going in. At least our 3 year old got to enjoy that slide one day. The resort is pretty quiet – good for relaxing. Resort grounds are well-maintained. Facilities are clean – I was impressed with cleanliness of every restroom I went in, including pool side. The mini golf course is excellent, albeit a little pricey for a round with the family. We enjoyed visiting some other pools, and there is a nice splash pad pool at Villa’s North. You must have a car because Reunion Resort is so large. That was not a problem for us because we needed to bring a car seat anyway, but don’t stay here if you just want to use Uber on your vacation. Although you need a car, everything is just a couple minutes away. Not a ton of restaurants, but plenty of grocery options 5 minutes away. For families, it worked out very well for us to hit the water park when it opened at 10-10:30AM. It’s not busy and you can find chairs easily. We would stay for 2-3 hours, then head back to the room for a late lunch and relax. Then we would visit one of the other pools or the Villa’s North splash pad in the afternoon for a couple hours. The water park seems to get very busy from 12-3PM, and I noticed folks struggling to find any available chairs. Finally, always use Google Maps on your phone for real-time traffic in this area. Traffic can be horrendous in the area, and on many occasions Google Maps steered me to use other entrances.

We stayed over spring break in the Villas which I describe as being like apartments. In fact, some probably are because it did look like there were full time residents around the complex. Ours was a 3 bedroom on the first floor and it had plenty of room, but would agree with some of the other reviews about it being outdated. However overall, it was a pretty decent room. I think this had the potential of being a 4-5 start rating for us if we would have planned correctly. First mistake, i would highly recommend staying at the main resort building and not in the villas because everything is at least .25 - .50 miles away so you either get in a lot of steps or drive everywhere. They do have golf cart rentals, but good luck getting one. We tried all 4 days we were there and never got one. Second, i dont think they are up to full staff yet because the main restaurant was only open Friday and Saturday, and the pool bar was fri-sun. The place was packed because of spring break and it was difficult to get food/drink during the week. Overall, it wasn't a bad stay for us, just average. The resort had a lot to do, water park, pools, golf, tennis, etc, but getting to those activities was difficult from where we were staying. We wish that more rentals were available, golf cart, bikes, etc. but again, we understand it was spring break and it looked like they were pretty close to capacity so im not going to ding them too hard on that. Would we be back? Maybe, but we would do things differently like staying at the main building and probably not over spring break.

The building - entry way to our room and our room had a terrible odor. We called and they offered to spray the area. They were booked and could not help us. The room was very out dated - will not go back. The first time using the shuttle - we waited 50 minutes to pick us to bring us back to the room. I called back after waiting 30 minutes and they had a communication error with the driver.
