This is a good campground that is close to all of the wonderful shops, sites and restaurants in Key West. There is a CVS and a Publix grocery store close by. Everyone was nice and friendly especially the people working at the campground. No loud music or problems while we were there just like we like it!
We were extremely lucky to find availability at Leo’s Campground 3 years ago, 2020, and just finished our 3rd. year staying here. The people who choose Leo’s for their home away from home are very friendly and kind. We have made so many friends here and look forward to seeing them every year. The camp is beautifully maintained by the grounds crew. All the palm trees and flowering plants add so much appeal to the surroundings. The lake offers catch and release fishing, several serene sitting areas, and small boat or kayak access through the mangroves to the Gulf of Mexico. Your RV needs to be self-contained as the bathhouses and restrooms are currently closed, for the safety of all their guests, due to the continuing pop-up variants of the Covid-19 virus. No tent camping offered at this time. There is no pool here but with the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico so close to the Campground, you really don’t need a pool. However, if you prefer to swim laps/ water aerobics, etc. or want a day or more at the pool, Key West offers a free Community Swimming Pool and the nearby College of the Florida Keys offers lap swimming/water aerobics daily for a nominal fee. The college pool is 1.5 miles away and a nice flat bike ride to reach it. The campground has 5 Tiki Huts containing picnic tables, Pool & Ping Pong Tables, games (Jenga, Connect 4, Hook & Ring, etc) swings for relaxing near the lake and a bar area. The owner is on site and his office staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The camp store has some of what you may need. Or the staff will tell you the best places to go if they don’t carry it. USPS, UPS, Fedex and Amazon all deliver to you here. In addition to laundry facilities ($), they have WIFI Hotspots and some sites have Cable connection. Their prices are the best in the area for all they have to offer. Stay at Leo’s Campground. It is a hidden gem on Stock Island, Key West, Florida. We have booked for 2023 already and have extended our stay because of this piece of paradise.…
We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Key West, what a lovely sight, we had a great pitch next to the Tiki hut, it was a 30 minute bike ride into Duval Street, at night we ordered Uber’s to and from the main area, on the last night we visited the Hogfish bar just 5 minutes away.... great place... would definitely recommend this site!
Stayed at Leo’s for 3 weeks! Read many reviews and this place sounded like just what we were looking for. Small RV park situated on a wonderful pond and river. It’s off the main road so was nice and quiet. There are some great food options near by, including a magnificent Taco food truck right next store. Campground was super clean and extremely well run. Access to Key West was super easy as it’s 4.5 miles to Duval St. There are beautiful iguanas at the campground that love to be fed each day. Laundry facilities are excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful for local businesses to make your stay even better.
Don’t judge a book by its cover! Leo’s Campground is a hidden gem just a stones throw away from Key West. Hop on the city bus, ride a bike or less than a 10 min drive into the heart of the town. Well maintained grounds, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Will definitely return!
After specifically asking for a quiet space when making the arrangements 10 months in advance, we were told we were in a space away from the road (supposedly C-23). Unfortunately, we arrived to find out we were not in space C-23 as we were told, but instead on the corner of 2 VERY busy and VERY noisy streets. Sitting outside was like sitting on a highway, staring at cars going by. We immediately mentioned it to the lady working, who said she would leave a note for the manager Melanie - but no one bothered to contact us or make any attempt to move us to a quiet space or even explain why we did not receive the spot we reserved. Overall, the long term spaces seemed nice, but short term spots are TERRIBLE! If we could have found another spot nearby we would have moved. We feel it would be worth it to pay more to stay at another park or drive in from another Key to avoid the disappointment.…
Great little area on Stock Island and so close to Key West. Quaint little park, nice area to kayak out to the main body of water. I thought the prices were reasonable for being in the keys, staff has been very nice and we would definitely want to come back.
To charge $110/night for an RV Park that closed off its showers and toilets seems crazy, no wonder it was easy to get a reservation. The whole point of RV Parks is to have a few basic amenities so you can choose to relieve yourself somewhere other than your rig. I drove to the Starbucks every morning…
Clean, friendly staff , quiet. Right by airport and Roosevelt ave. We have 40 ft RV and fit perfectly. Lots of iguanas. Pond with filtration system. Able to rent gulf cart. Was delivered by company. Located on stock.island. Felt very safe.
Disappointed, no bathroom or showers, they were closed, first RV park I have ever visited without these facilities available. Also very poor internet, sat in front of the office to connect and then it went out in five minutes, so really no internet. No cable tv hookup at our RV site, spent three days there no tv no internet and this is 2021, no excuse. Tried to talk to the office on Tuesday, note on the door that they were out. Much better RV parks in the area. I paid additional for the premium RV lot, not sure what was premium?
