Our room was very nice, and we enjoyed the tiki bar near the pool as well as the hot tub. The hotel also has a nice boardwalk overlooking the water and a small beach area with lounge chairs. The person who checked us in was very helpful, recommending restaurants in the area. The hotel is a bit of a drive from the action of downtown Key West, but there were some good restaurants etc. within walking distance of the hotel. We enjoyed breakfast at Goldman's nearby as recommended by the hotel staff. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
The stay was good until the maintenance people broke into our room. We had the do not disturb sign hung but they let themselves in. And we were stuck here until they left. Rude and overbearing is what I call it. We paid good money for a room just to be held hostage until they left
Loved our stay here! Newly renovated - felt higher end than a Courtyard. Very clean, well equipped. Bed was comfortable and bedding was very nice. I would recommend asking to face the lagoon if possible. Starbucks on-site. Only drawback was the price - it was more expensive than any Four Seasons or Ritz I’ve ever stayed at! But that’s just the reality of Key West hotels in general. I would definitely recommend staying here.
This hotel was very nicely appointed. Rooms were clean and all of the staff were extremely friendly. There is a nice sized pool, although it was usually taken up by a lot of kids running around. We loved the little tiki bar, Ken, the bartender was great, hours were 11-7, but lunch was available from 11-2. There is a Starbuck's bistro in the lobby serving a very limited and very pricey breakfast-only menu from 7am-11am, which we went to for convenience sake. Starbucks for breakfast and the Tiki Bar for lunch are the only dining options. Overall, it was a nice place to stay, however there are a few problems. Most importantly, they do not offer a shuttle service, as do many of the other chain hotels in the area. The hotel is located in "New Town" Key West (nothing but shopping centers, banks, Home Depot, Walgreens etc, no restaurants to speak of), everything you come to Key West for is in "Old Town". What this means is that unless you have your own car, you will be taking taxi cabs back and forth. Easy enough to call for a cab, however it gets expensive. We were encouraged to pay for the Old Town Trolley service, which winds it's way around the island with a tour guide, but you can use it as a hop on, hop off service. It was expensive and the trolley pick up/drop off location was located 1/2 mile from this hotel (at the Fairfield) across the highway. The walk wasn't so bad in the morning, but by the late afternoon, with the sun beating down and having spent the day walking around Old Town, the walk back to the hotel was not easy. Adding to this, having to cross a major 4 lane highway was a little scary. I would not have wanted to do this with little kids in tow. Had we realized how far away we would be from Old Town and that the hotel did not offer a shuttle service, we would have booked elsewhere. I would give this hotel 3 1/2 stars if I could, just based on it's distance from Key West attractions.…
Loved the hotel. The pool and hot tub are wonderful! The bistro and tiki bar are great. The rooms are small but comfortable the boardwalk was a great place to watch the sunset. Just note that you won’t get to see the sun actually go down because there are condos in the way. And also note that they no longer have a shuttle service so you have to find your own transportation.
