FYI: this hotel offers a shuttle to/from the airport (unlike others). Upon arrival to the airport, I requested the shuttle from this hotel and by the time it arrived, it had me thinking I was being waited for. The shuttle driver, Edwin, had me feeling very welcomed and at home; His welcoming energy and all of his recommendations to spots around the island were appreciated! Edwin is an exemplary employee of this hotel by exceeding expectations of any other employee by greeting both customers and visitors and going above and beyond his role as a “shuttle driver.” Mike, the hotel manager, also has great energy (call it island energy at this point) always greeting everyone and asking how everything is. Both of the employees of the Double Tree mentioned above are phenomenal and quite memorable for me and my visit to Key West. I’m not kidding when I say they are very memorable on my visit to the island of Key West. *PS: this hotel offers FREE water bottles for people staying at its hotel!!!…

Great getaway to Key West. Loved this resort. I know there are reviews out there about the resort needing an face lift. I didn't see it. Our room was large and clean. Nice sized bathroom with a large shower. The bed was perfect for me and the room was quiet. Our room did have a small balcony with two chairs on it. Not much of a view, but nice to sit out on. We enjoyed the pool everyday, and loved that there was no charge for the cabanas. The breakfast was good with a wide variety of food. I found the price for breakfast to be a little less than many of the restaurants in the area. The poolside bar was laid back and the bartender friendly. While this resort is a ways out from the downtown area, the shuttle runs every hour. Plus at high demand times there were multiple shuttles. We also used the free airport shuttle and the shuttle to Smather's Beach. When you visit Smather's Beach the hotel provides 2 free beach chairs. Everyone at this resort was helpful and friendly. My only negative with this resort is the same with most hotels right now, no daily cleaning. If you need bathroom supplies, or towels the front desk with provide you with them. You can ask to have your room serviced every three days.…

Wow! Edwin was so helpful and kind in being our shuttle driver to the airport. He loaded in our bags and even offered a step stool to get in and out of the van. He shared recommendations for our next trip to Key West and held a nice convo with us! Looking forward to seeing Edwin again during our next trip here.

The shuttle service is impeccable. They are always on time and very hospitable. Edwin even brings us cookies and water once he picks us up from work. It’s very thoughtful of him after a hard days work.
