We just returned from our family vacation and the general consensus is that the Barbary Beach House was the best accommodations on Key West that we could have pick. Our room was clean and fresh the hotel staff was very helpful, front desk, concierge, pool bar all top notch. The property is not in the center of things but that just made for a fun scooter ride (the hotel concierge was very helpful with scooter rentals) to our destinations. We could get to anywhere we wanted to go in minutes. The Barbary Beach House is a great property we are very pleased.
We just got home from a wonderful 4 night stay at the Barbary! We had a wonderful time while we were there - and much of that has to do with the Barbary. Here are some of the key highlights: 1. Hotel and restaurant staff go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. We had a couple of mishaps with our room not getting cleaned one day, and the guest services team jumped in to action to set things right. The TV connection to chromecast did not work -- and they sent up chocolates and other goodies for the inconvenience. Finally, our waiters and waitresses got to know us over the course of our stay making the whole experience feel very warm and personal. 2. The restaurant/lobby area has a very high-end vibe. A lovely space to enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the pool/among the palm trees. 3. Tons of little freebies that the kids (and I) looked forward to daily -- Morning coffee station in the restaurant, apples to grab on your way out the door, strawberry daiquiries whenever you wanted, fresh cookies and mint water every afternoon. They also had a shuttle in to town, but we had a car, so did not need to use it. 4. Pool area was spacious with plenty of seating. Pool itself was large and enjoyable for the kids. Everyone enjoyed having snacks and drinks poolside in the afternoons. 5. Rooms - modern and quite well appointed 6. Location -- Close to airport (that did add some noise), very close to beach, away from some of the hustle and bustle of duvall -- but a very short drive I did want to point out a couple of items for this resort that I think would take it to an absolute 5 star: 1. Laundry service on-site. Beach trips mean lots of outfit changes -- it would be nice if the Barbary offered a service for visitors to pay for laundry (currently they only had dry cleaning services) 2. Related to above -- our room (2 bdrm suite) did not have a balcony, therefore there was no good place to dry our wet clothes. The bathrooms only had 1 hook each. Even multiple hooks could be a quick solution to this problem. 3. The walk to the beach -- Smathers beach was lovely -- and yes, very close. However, one thing I did not realize is that we would have to cross a 4 lane "highway" to get to the beach. This was a little stressful with young children. Would be soooo much better if the resort had a dedicated walk light or even a "yield to pedestrian" walking path. Speeds on that road were high, and traffic was fairly steady. 4. Technical difficulties - Honestly, this was not a big deal for us -- but just FYI, the connection to netflix/Chromecast/etc never did not work on the TVs. Plan to watch basic cable if you must -- or use your own device. Again - not a big deal, but unexpected. Overall - we all had a great time and would recommend the resort to anyone wishing to experience Key West!…
The staff attitude, attentiveness and friendliness was absolutely better than any other hotel I have experienced in the last 3 months! It was great to see management and staffing working together completely focused on the guest experience. The hotel was newly renovated, clean and located very close to Duval street with excellent transport! We took the Bamboo Buick to Duval Street and had complimentary custom cocktail for the ride over! The Food was very good and the service staff was excellent. Overall the visit was fun, relaxing and there was so much to do while in Key West! Felt like you were in the islands but you were not!
This resort is great! We are right across the street from the beach! Free shuttle rides every hour to downtown Duval Street, and great drinks and food at the bar and restaurant. Great staff like Jason at the bar and Anastasia at the front desk. 10 out of 10 would recommend!!!
This place was amazing. I have traveling extensively and stayed in high end places often times. This was top 5 in the same category as the ritz in Santa Barbara CA. It’s pricey but you can’t beat the luxury.
