Perfect location. The guys outside at valet/security are super nice and helpful. The one restaurant we ate at in the hotel was great- clean, modern, friendly staff. We stayed two nights bc thats all my friend could get off work this time around. I had emailed the hotel 3 weeks PTA to inquire about xport from airport and to request possible early check in. I never got a response. Check in time is 3pm. We arrived at 1:30, told front desk about my previous early check in request w/ no response. They just said the room wasn’t ready, they’d take our bags and call me when the room was ready. The front desk staff wasn’t rude, but didn’t say “I’m sorry” or act like she cared that no one responded or that they still couldn’t accommodate the request now. I know stuff happens, just to even pretend like you care at all ab the disconnect would go a long way. We walked around Las Olas while waiting for room. Hotel called at 4:30p to say the room was ready. Check in supposed to be at 3pm? The second night we stayed there, when we got back to our room, there was a bag hanging from our room door. Found clean towels in it. Realized no housekeeping service to our room at all that day besides this towel drop off. Not even to empty the trash. We ran out of toilet paper just before check out, so we just used the lobby bathroom before we left. The landline phone in our room didn’t work when we tried to call the desk. The hotel is definitely a perfect location to walk to everything fun. I would give it another chance bc of this and 90% of the staff we encountered was nice/helpful. It just appears they are understaffed. The staff who are there are doing what they can. But management needs to get them some help. I know thats everywhere right now. **But management cannot get used to this new staffing model- fill these jobs back up when you get good applicants! Bc skimping on housekeeping or customer service staffing (regardless of how many nights someone stays) CANNOT become the new normal going forward.** No one should have their tiny trash cans overflowing in rooms so they start piling trash outside the can & run out of TP. We are paying the same rates. People work hard for their money and want to spend it somewhere where they don’t receive less service for the same price. Thanks to the staff who were there, though!

I booked a corner room in the Executive Tower and it was amazing (it's worth every penny to upgrade to this room because of the view). From one corner of the balcony, you can see the city with a view of airplanes leaving the runway (no noise can be heard) and the other corner is a view of the New River in which you can see very large (and expensive, lol) boats navigating their way through. The views were spectacular.

The hotel is located on Las Olas Boulevard, which is a very trendy social area that includes eateries, bars, and boutique-style shops. There is also a Cheesecake Factory about 500 feet from the front of the hotel.

Every staff member that I had any interaction with treated me like royalty.

The hotel was extremely clean, decorated and furnished beautifully. The bed linens were luxurious and the mattress was very comfortable. The towels were also nice. The provided shampoo and conditioner made my hair feel like silk!

I was slightly disappointed with two things, their decision to close the pool for the and some other hotel amenities because of a predicted storm, and their unadvertised (unless I didn't see it) self-parking fee.

I'm a native Floridian and I know these storms can be unpredictable but when the storm fizzled out and didn't produce any dangerous winds or rain, I wish they would have opened the pool.

The self-parking fee is $27 per day and we had two cars so it was a little expensive and unexpected fee for us.

Even with the two disappointments, I still rate this stay as a 5.

I was part of the selection committee that selected this hotel to host our meeting in January. And now that all the tally is in, I can honestly say this was one of our better Association meetings, thanks in large part to the location we selected. The Riverside met all of our needs for the conference with the meeting rooms and we were able to cater a few meals to our group. I was a little apprehensive at first at incorporating the balcony on the 8th floor for our sponsors and breaks, but South Florida weather proved to be very cooperative and a much needed break from sitting inside. The view from my 10th floor room was outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed having our morning coffee watching the Yachts come in and out on the river. The spouses kept themselves extremely occupied and, potentially, in debt on Las Olas Boulevard. My only complaint would be some of the hallways and rooms are starting to show their age. Example: the light on the elevator button wouldn't always work. Paint was starting to chip in some of the corners of the room, the carpet is extremely warn. Minor details. We would be more than happy to return to the hotel and host another association meeting next winter.

I have stayed here many, many times. I enjoy the pool and location. This was my first trip back since covid shutdown a year ago. I can certainly appreciate the face that COVID had a big impact on the hotel but now that people are starting to travel again one would think the hotel would be out to impress. Everything here at the Riverside has a shabby appearance. The hallway carpets are filthy. The 10th floor hallway had an odor I can’t describe. The room with the ice maker down right stank. The rooms have not been updated in years (with the exception of some ubs outlets) and the wear and tear is obvious. The biggest disappointment for me was the pool area. The chairs and umbrellas are mostly dirty and in disrepair. The pool water no longer sparkles and the decking is littered with iguana droppings and debris from the surrounding trees. Pool towels are hard to come by as once they are delivered guests scoop them up and it is hours before more are delivered. I never saw any employee in the pool area picking up towels or removing the garbage from the carry out dining. There were no pool servers. Can’t help but wonder if management is letting all this slide because a tear down and rebuild is in the future - like most of Los Olas has been experiencing???? The hotel dining remains wonderful.

As an aside, most people walking on Los Olas are not wearing masks. There is no social distancing on the street. Most of the trendy restaurants were filled to capacity with no distancing in seating. There were only a few exceptions, Wild Sea in the Riverside being one of them.

Can’t beat the location, near the river, downtown and short distance from the beach. The hotel commons areas are nice and well decorated. The grounds are clean and well landscaped. The conference facilities are nice and perfect for small meetings. Check-in was quick and easy. Valet service was a little slow at times. The pool and adjacent bar and dinning area is nice...Though it would be nice if the pool was open past sundown.

The room, while not horrible, didn’t quite meet our expectations. We stayed in the executive tower. To start, upon arrival our rooms refrigerator was not cool, turns out it was unplugged, the only accessible outlet was behind the dresser/desk/entertainment center, hotel staff was helpful in moving the heavy furniture to plug it in, but it was inconvenient, and exposed the years of dust and filth behind it. Next, the entire bathroom plumbing was literally falling apart, tub drain was broken with plug chain pulled out and exposed, shower faucet handle was loose and falling off, sink faucet was leaking and would fill entire sink counter with water within an hour. The shower curtain was dirty and stained. Overall the room shows it’s age and appears due for an upgrade. This is a personal preference, but beds were definitely more firm then what you find at most hotels.

None of this would make me completely avoid the property, and overall the value is ok, especially when balanced with the great location and price, that said, there are certainly better properties with nicer accommodations in the area.

Very nice spot for a business group meeting. My room was quite large and clean. Best of all- a refrigerator! Food provided for business meetings was perfect. Good variety served buffet style, and I appreciated that they left the breakfast fruit and pastries out for the morning break. The hotel is located on the “river walk” but I couldn’t find access to the walkway. Didn’t matter once I figured out how to walk to the beach. Only two miles away! The beach has good facilities with public restrooms, faucets for cleaning off sand, and several restaurants.

We stayed at Riverside Hotel in May for 10 days and again in December for 9 days. We enjoyed our stays immensely. Check-in was a breeze, and the hotel decorations throughout the lobby and entrances for the holiday were beautiful. A nice surprise this trip was the piano music and open bar in the lobby which added a festive touch. We enjoyed the Boathouse (which overlooks the canal) for lunch and cocktails, and especially breakfast in the restaurant facing Las Olas. Our room, like last time was nicely appointed with a lounge area, comfortable bed, large bath, coffee maker, mini-fridge, safe, and a wonderful view of the canal, and in the distance, a view of the beach and ocean. Although we didn't request daily room service, the staff on the floor were always helpful when we requested extra coffee, soap, shampoo, towels, etc. Another amenity is the garage self parking which is so convenient. We picked the hotel, as it's so close to many restaurants, shopping, and a 10 minute drive to the beach. At the end of our stay, my partner said "I guess we'll be staying here next time we come to Fort Lauderdale." And I'm in complete agreement.

The hotel is in a great location - especially if you’re a walker. It’s very near the river walk, as well as an interesting part of downtown Fort Lauderdale. You’ll see some amazing boats docked on the river. Both the Boathouse and Wild Sea are affiliated with the hotel with Wild Sea being right in the hotel. Riverside is also immaculately clean so we appreciated that. The downside was the very small bathroom with little to no shelf space for cosmetics. Our TV simply did not work. The remote had been sanitized so don’t know if that caused it not to work or not. We finally got the TV to turn on; it was on a Spanish station and there was no way to change channels or adjust the loud volume so we just gave up. It was later in the evening at that point and we had no desire to have a worker in our room. There is an in-room coffee pot but the cord was such that you had to pull it off the shelf to plug it in. The desk had one USB plug that didn’t work and no other outlets. The elevator is very tiny (two people with luggage is maximum). I used the iron and it was almost impossible to pull it out of the holder, which must have been sized for a different iron.

We arrived at the Riverside on a Monday. We were aware the the hotel was dog friendly so since I have allergies we requested a room that wasn't dog friendly. We had a room on the first floor in the historic section of the motel which would have been ok except the view out the windows was of huge air conditioners and some kind of electric large units and it was rather depressing. We called the front desk to see if maybe there was another room and God bless Terrence he moved us to a room on the 3rd floor that had a view of the courtyard which all the trouble he went to was sweet and thoughtful and really unexpected. We had a lovely stay as we were right on Las Olas Blvd and everything restaurants, shops, water taxi was right there. Thanks again Terrence! Your personal touch made our trip perfect! We will stay at the Riverside again!

We just spent a night at the Riverside Hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. I contacted the front desk to confirm our room the day before we arrived and spoke with lovely Lori. She assured me that if there was a room ready, we would be able to check in earlier than the scheduled time of 3. When we checked in, we were fortunate Lori was working at the front desk and sure enough, she took care of us immediately. Her hospitality and kindness was so appreciated. We loved our spacious room, a king with a balcony, and enjoyed watching the boats on the river. Bottled water in the room was $7 so if you don't want to pay that, pick up some ahead of time. There is also a small frig in the room and a microwave at the end of the hall near the ice machine. Also a hopping bar and a piano player in the lobby near the small bar in the evening. There is valet parking and self park, your choice. Such a classy hotel, we loved it!
