Absolute worst Hilton I’ve ever stayed in. Staff was basically nonexistent, carpets were stained, shelves in lobby were totally bare, all public areas were closed (had just stayed at embassy suites in Palm Beach Gardens) and they were open as usual), one elevator broken, the other one had an operating certificate posted that expired over a year ago. I’m all for being careful during a pandemic but things have opened up. The staff that I saw (2 people) were not wearing masks. The towels in the bathroom were almost threadbare, no plastic cups anywhere ( when I went to check in to get some I was told they don’t have any and to take a paper cup, I commented that I’d never stayed in a Hilton that didn’t have some sort of glasses in the room and was told that “this is a franchise” Rooms were clearly designed to be minimalist but there is no need to make them look cheap. Bed was comfortable, bathroom design was nice. This is the second Tru we?ve stayed in, this was by far the worst.

Hotel's Favourite
Tru Hotels are basic no-frills properties. This one was as expected as to furnishings. Lack of carpeting in room means it is kept much cleaner. Bathroom also very clean. I appreciate having just a shower and not a tub you have to climb in and out of. Good location -- easy access to Everglades Nat'l Park & the Keys. Numerous good restaurants nearby -- including Cracker Barrell basically right behind hotel. Front desk staff helpful in finding local pack and ship services.

This hotel fit the needs for our being located close to the Everglades, Biscayne and to Rt. 1 to head to the Keys. The room was comfortable, but problems getting to wi-fi making my husband not very happy. Breakfast was in a box and not very good. Room was adequate.

Stayed 1 night at this property, which was also my first time staying at this rather new brand by Hilton, Tru by Hilton. I had no expectation whatsoever going into this property as I was just looking for something close to the Everglades National park entrance. Location The property is located just off US1 (towards Key West) - there was not much around the hotel, although there was a bar across the parking area and further down the road was the area's wholesale market for fruits and vegetables - which I at least saw had some eateries (during the daytime). With a short drive away, there's additional options. From the hotel it was maybe a 15-20 mins drive to the entrance of the Everglades National Park and for those who want to do a day trip to Key West, this could also be a possible option. Other than that, there's a Walmart close by and the other usual large stores. Check In I did not bother using the Hilton app to check in this round. As usual, for such a property no upgrades given outside of what is booked. I arrived after 6 pm at the property where I was assisted immediately. As usual, a photo ID was required and I was given a quick update on the breakfast situation - due to the pandemic - which was basically still a to-go breakfast box. The common check-in area and breakfast room (supposedly closed due to the pandemic) was decorated in a colourful and playful manner. I was also offered bottles of water, which I declined this time as I some with me. Room If I remember correctly my room was on the 3rd floor out of 4 floors. One of the elevators was already out of service on this what seemed to be a rather new property. During this stay it was at least not an issue as it did not seem to be heavily occupied (especially it was Spring Break week). The room faced the next door hotel/parking lot area. The room size was ok, I had expected it to be bigger due to the location. It was like the lobby area, decorated in a colourful/modern style, with lots of used of colour. It reminded me of the deco of the Home2Suites brand (sans the kitchenette). The rest of the furnishing was what one would expect with a long desk with drawers - functioning also as a working desk. There was an open wardrobe available next to the bathroom. There was the usual coffee/tea making system (the typical US one which is basically a coffee machine) Sleep quality was good - the bed was still comfortable, not being too firm nor too soft with good back support. Luckily even though it was came with the unit AC, at low fan it was not too loud (like the older units). Temperature control in the room was good. Internet speed was stable and sufficient. TV channel options was your typical US cable options. If I remember correctly, there was no option for streaming your own devices nor any streaming service apps on the TV. The bathroom size was ok, with a walk in shower. Toiletries were wall mounted bottles - seemed to be named "Radio" - I did not really like the brand/smell that was used, it was based on sweet flavours (imagine bubblegum flavours). If I was the hotel I would have gone for more neutral or fresh smell type of toiletries. They were in blue/yellow and green bottles - just again to add colour to the bathroom and following the theme of the brand/hotel. The water temperature and pressure was ok. Breakfast I am not sure what are the normal offerings at this brand, but in current pandemic situation, it was a very simple to-go box which consisted of a bagel, cream cheese, youghurt and a banana. Am not sure if this was because the property owner trying to use the pandemic as an excuse or lack of staff, but all my other stays at other such breakfast included property was more or less back to normal. Overall All in all, my stay was ok. I would return to this property if I needed to be in the area and if the price was right.

We stayed 3 nights prior to my being at a conference in Miami. Great location to get to the Everglades as well as down to the Keys. We had an issue with the "grab and go" breakfasts. One morning short cream cheese. Second morning, one was short the hard boiled egg.

Let me say first I am a diamond for life member at Hilton Hotels. I am in hotels 90 days a year. This is the worst hotel I have been in, in the the 35 years I have been staying at Hilton’s. When we got into the room it smelled like urine. Went into the bathroom and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Went down to the front desk and asked for another room. They didn’t have any but they would fix our room while we are out for dinner. Stopped at the front desk after dinner and they told me everything is fixed. Went to the room and nothing had been fixed.

Stayed for two nights and were generally pleased. Many have noted in their reviews the breakfast and room cleaning policy. I have stayed around 60 nights in hotels over the past 2.5 years- these are unfortunate realities that many hotels have switched to during this time period. It is not just this hotel. I did suggest that they get a toaster. That out of way: the bed was very comfortable, the property was clean and easy to access. I loved the refillable bottles in the restroom and shower. The king sized rooms are small, but given that we were using it as a base to visit nearby destinations it didnt bother us. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

The place looks brand new, it is colorful and seems well thought out. Parking lot is nice and for some reason they have an old empty police car there all the time. The lot was jam packed each night. I think they were fully booked. The room was colorful had a huge TV and a nice bathroom. Even with a new motel some of the outlets were not working. The breakfast was awful…..served in an oversized, flimsy box. They ran out of coffee every morning we stayed there. They barely had napkins, creamer or lids to use when you got a cup of coffee. It was the same “menu” every morning. It was like breakfast was being run by children. Hard to believe someone would invest all that $$$ in that building then not properly manage the place. Our room never got touched for three days. We asked that our room be cleaned the second day, but it was not. They wrote it down, but nothing happened. We found this very odd. The trash was overflowing in our room. I have never had that happen in a motel in my life. The trash cans near the elevators on our floor were overfilled/jammed with the empty boxes given out as you got your breakfast. Imagine that, in an almost brand new motel. I went down and asked politely for some fresh towels. The front desk person had to leave the desk and go to the laundry room and come back with towels. People were asking why their room had not been touched……after they had requested it earlier that day. The girl seemed new to the job and had no answers. So, we were not the only guests that had questions…….

Only 1 elevator in operation while there. Grab and go breakfast bag. Not what was expected per hotel description. Room was comfortable. Common areas of hotel were clean. Parking was a little limited for size of hotel.

I am VERY disappointed with our weekday 2 night stay. We did receive a room with 2 queen beds as requested. Television worked fine & room was equipped with a mini refrigerator. NO microwave in the room & only 4 hangars for two guests. Mounted shampoo, conditioner & body lotion on bathroom & shower The EXTREMELY STRONG scented products were nauseating to use. Only breakfast offered was a boxed meal:yogurt & a bagel with cream cheese. Hilton should update their website to notify guests of what BREAKFAST IS OFFERED so guests know ahead of time. NO hot water dispenser for making tea. I had to go to rest room to fill the disposable cup and put in lobby mini microwave to make my tea. Decaf coffee dispenser at 6a.m. was empty. Breakfast is suppose to START at 6 a.m. !!! Only other beverage offered was regular coffee & individual orange juices that were partly frozen.
