This claims to be a hotel. Its not. Its a motel. Next, it advertises breakfast. Cancelled. Breakfast apparently gives you covid, but profits are ok. The staff is generally pleasant and helpful, however, when I checked my bed (yes, I still always check it), there was a very disgusting piece of tape with hair and junk on it inside my bed. A welcoming gift I suppose. For what they charge and what you get, its pretty damn bad. We stayed there 4 days and I would not have stayed there if I had known what kind of place this really was for the price they were charging.
I would like to advise you not to stay here, I have my kids & spouse and there are so many problems. The floors are so dirty you have to wear shoes or your feet will be black. On our way out the door a housekeeper asked if we had towels as we gave him all of our wet towels, coming home that evening I went to the front desk to get more towels as my husband came back with 3 small thin pool towels, I went to the front office asked for shower towels and was told I have to get them from housekeeping I say ok where can I find them she said in the morning I than say you gave me 3 I need more as there are 5 of us she tells me I only have 2 more pool towels for the next people I say I need to take a shower & there are 5 of us by the time I dry off with this it will be soaked for my child who I shouldn’t have to share a towel with especially in a hotel I paid almost $300 a night. The shower head is so old and the shower squeaks every time you move. The phone does not work & I went to ask for another blanket I was advised they are out. I only stayed 1 night with all these problems, to bad every where is full or I would quickly go somewhere else (which I tried)! Horrible service old hotel no updates have been done in years no breakfast was offered gross dirty rooms. Save you a headache. If I had an option to give zero starts I would.…
Days Inn comments Firstly, upon arrival, I was told I needed to pay for the room up front. I had never been to a hotel where you had to do so I asked why. I was told that was their policy. I said I didn’t see that written anywhere online or in my confirmation email. I was told again it’s their policy. I had already been charged for one night on my credit card, which I figured over Ed their cancellation policy, but paying for the room before I stayed seemed odd to me. I paid because I had no other option. Secondly, the online pictures of the rooms do not reflect what ours looked like in person. Our room was dark and obviously had not been updated in some time. The bathroom floor had hair in the corners and the baseboards around the room were dirt and dust covered. While trying to find an outlet to charge my phone I found a to-go cup behind the nightstand. We couldn’t get the TV to work and thinking it was the battery in the remote went to the office for new batteries. The front desk person came back to our room to discover the cable box was behind the dresser. All of these things had apparently escaped the person who checks to make sure each room is ready for a new guest. The bathroom is so small they installed the halo shower rod inwardly so the bathroom door can close. Anyone who has showered with the rod pointing inward knows that the shower curtain then touches the person showering, gross. The bath mat was filthy, possibly stained or not cleaned, I’m not sure. Their was no “breakfast included” amenity and no previous notice of the fact, so we had to make other arrangements. Our room, located on the first floor, 30 feet from the garbage dumpster, woke to the trash being picked up at 5 am. The ice machine frequently did not work, our key cards had to be rekeyed every day. The pool was dirty, so much so that I ran the skimmer around it to remove hair, bugs and debris. The concrete around the pool area was in need of a power washing and the patio furniture was old and battered. What I paid for the room and what my confirmation email stated was different so I went to the front desk to inquire about it and I was told there’s a nightly surcharge rate. I said I saw nothing about that in my confirmation letter, which I brought with me and showed the clerk. He said yes, there’s a $5 charge for each night. Apparently they then charge tax to the surcharge because the overage I paid did not equal $15. I did try to speak to the manager but was told he was out. I was given a business card to email him the clerk said. Once in my room I called the number and asked for the manager. I was told he was out, but I expressed my disappointment about the room with the person on the phone. He, I’m sure it was the manager, told me he could refund me for two days if I wanted to check out. I did try to find another hotel, but was unable to find one on the budget I was given from my employer. The whole reason I was there was to attend a three day conference for work. So as you can see, no, I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Destin Florida is a beautiful place, but that hotel is not.…
Pretty good stay. Able to checkin a little bit earlier. Close to the beach, stores, restaurants. Room pretty clean, can be improved. It doesn’t need to be a high class hotel to be perfectly cleaned. Beside that everything else was fine.
Cigarettes burn in the comforter. Rust covered the toilet paper holder. Baseboards were separated from the wall. Pins from the door hinges were almost out. No proper water pressure for the toilet. As soon as my kids took their shoes off and walked around the room the bottom of their feet were black.
