We stayed here since we had an appointment at the hospital and live about 4 hours away. That is the ONLY reason why I would suggest this hotel to anyone. The towels and linens were scratchy, the room was basic, the sofa was uncomfortable and worn beyond it's life span. We were on the 3rd floor. When we came down in the morning, we walked through the outside door and were sprayed with a pressure cleaner that was working on the outside of the building. There were 2 workers just standing there watching this happen. It was horrible!!!! The proximity to Advent Hospital is the only reason this hotel didn't get 1 star. Stay away if possible.
We stayed at the Melia during Summit D2 cheerleading competition. Never heard of it and booked because it was the only affordable suite left I could find. It looked nice, but smaller than we were originally hoping for. Even though it is small, it is packed full of fun. Positives: - Friendly and easy check-in process - Rooms are clean and functional. 1 bedroom suite was a decent size with large bathroom. - Cool little lobby area with restaurant/bar and indoor/outdoor seating. Very good food and service was adequate (if you are sitting in the restaurant area). Breakfast costs unless you buy the package where breakfast is included. - Little nook area that serves sushi on the weekends. Very cool and yummy. - Little coffee shop that serves Starbucks. - Great pool. Not huge, but nice. They have pool service (this will be a negative later) and had a DJ Friday through Sunday. Games and activities poolside as well. Lot's of fun at the pool! If you want chill and quiet at the pool, this is not your place. Who wants that though? Pool and bar open late! The party keeps going. - Parking free and easy access to hotel. - Located within 10 minutes of most parks. I do not know if they have park transportation since we did not use it. - People overall were friendly and eager to help. Negatives (not many): - Biggest one and this is a complaint in many reviews. I am not sure why they do not do something. On Friday, there was one server for the pool. The pool was busy and we did not see him for 45 minutes or more at times. The bar is inside so to go in and order your own drink takes getting fully dressed. Also, the pool server has your check so you have to cash out with the bartender. It was VERY frustrating on Friday. I just think he was overwhelmed. This needs fixed. It was a bit better on Saturday and Sunday. They appeared to have two servers. - The lobby area is detached from the actual hotel. Found that odd. You have to exit the hotel to get to the stand alone lobby. Not a big deal, just an odd lay-out. - Coffee place does not open until 7AM. I am an early riser and with no coffee in room or on the premises, I was struggling a bit. Couple unique things...A bird fell out of it's nest at the pool. We went to maintenance to see if they would do something. To my surprise they came out with a ladder and put the bird back in the nest. They got cheers. I thought that was awesome. They had a special event at the pool that closed it at 7PM on Saturday night. Due to that, they put the DJ in the parking lot with inflatables and games and gave away free burgers and hotdogs. I thought that was a nice thing to do. Overall, this place is a GREAT value and packs everything you want in a resort into a small, but cool package. Highly recommend.…
We were there for a baseball trip. As a team we chose this place to accommodate bigger families. We were told it had a full kitchen, it does not have an oven. The gym they claim they have is at the hospital. Why would we want to have to go into a hospital to use a gym. The service was horrible at the bar and restaurant and food was stale. We were always yelled at for having our own cups or snacks at the pool. We are not going to overpay for drinks or snacks. There are 2 laundry rooms for all of those rooms they have. When you make reservations we’ll in advance as a team you would think they would keep us all together like other resorts however we were all spread out. Just not the experience that we thought we were going to have.
1 bedroom suite was amazing, full kitchen with a nice view of the pool onnthe first floor. loved the stay, the staff. close by to Disney. stores close by. the hotel restaurant had good food but expensive.
I'm 85 and scheduled for surgery in Celebration Hospital around the corner from the hotel. Commuting the 35 miles to the hospital would have been an extreme hardship for my 76 year old wife. The hotel saved the day by not only extending us a favorable rate but more importantly, allowing us the flexibility of schedule that hospital stays can cause. I'm eternally grateful to the hotel for easing at least that aspect of my wife's concerns. We didn't require any service in the room.
