No outside food or drink allowed at the pool, and yet NO SERVICE provided poolside. Really? This is s Residence Club units with kitchenettes! We asked to rent a cabana. No hostess and no waiter for food/drinks! We were told all 3 cabanas were rented. Went on a waitlist to be called. All 3 were never occupied and we never received a call. The place is lovely. But please understand that unfortunately except for a few sharp yet unavailable people the service here is pretty much null! We asked for a 1 hour late check out. The front desk asked housekeeping! Lol Are we surprised they said no!!?? We booked with points but we are Hyatt Elite Members and we did not receive anything remotely close to elite treatment. So keep your expectations super low and you won’t be disappointed! Being nice doesn’t translate into performance! Sad.…
Hats off to the whole gang at Hyatt Residence Club Bonita Springs! I'm a frequent traveler who owns a home in central Florida and visits the Gulf Coast regularly. I was wowed by the awesome attitude of every worker I encountered at this exceptionally well laid out resort property with freebies galore! There's a waterpark, a ferry trip to a private island, free parking, 15% discount for on-property F & B, no charge for intertubes to float the Lazy River, continuous replacement of pool/beach towels - and on and on. The grounds are lovely, the rooms spacious and well-outfitted, maybe a little dated still in good condition. But without a doubt, the standout at this property is the people. Thank you all!! Your kindness and good spirits did not go unnoticed. Stay healthy and strong!
Great overall! We stayed a week in a 2 BR condo and would certainly go back. I took off 1-star for the various con’s listed below, understanding that staffing is a challenge right now but in ‘normal times’ I’d have knocked off a few more stars…. We ended up paying about $700/day all in, and for that cost, would have expected better opening times and access to the sister hotel amenities (as advertised), etc Pro’s: 1. Comfortable suite, including a well stocked kitchen and a full size washer and dryer 2. Loved the pools and lazy River! 3. Kids activities were available every day at a nominal cost 4. Huge, screened porch with seating for 6 5. Lazy River was fun! Free tubes…. Never too crowded 6. Pool service for drinks and lunch - very attentive service which was nice 7. Staff was all super nice, with 1 exception (a girl running trivia at the Verandah one day was quite rude…) 8. You can text housekeeping for needed items- they were responsive and quick 9. Rooms were soundproof, didn’t hear any neighbors next to us or on the floors above 10. Covered, free parking 11. Never an issue finding pool chairs and umbrellas - no need to ‘claim’ chairs early in the day Con’s 1. Almost impossible to use amenities at the sister hotel. Weekends were blacked out and reservations were limited. We were able to visit 1 day but were waitlisted the other days so couldn’t use the water slides and amenities at the hotel which was half the reason we chose the resort. 2. On-site store had extremely limited hours: 8:30 - 11 am. The store sells breakfast but it’s not recommended because the store isn’t adequately staffed and the people working seem overwhelmed. Be prepared for long waits even if you’re the only one in the store. It’s unclear to me why the management isn’t rolling up their sleeves to help for the 2 hours a day the place is open!!? 3. You can pre order donuts the night before; and select a time for pickup at the store. We did this twice and both times had to wait nearly 45 minutes after pickup time for the donuts to be ready. Frustrating way to start a vacation day. Since orders are taken the night before, the staff should adjust morning start times to be sure the donuts are ready on time. They were ‘out’ of chocolate and vanilla frosting the whole week - is it so hard to make that the chef couldn’t whip some up? 4. COVID sanitation was questionable - the pool chairs, for instance, are turned down flat when they are sanitized. We saw staff (at the end of the day) just quickly folding down chairs one after another without any effort to sanitize… 5. Pools and lazy River close much too early…. By 6 or 6:30, you may be limited to the adult pool which is small and while open to kids in the evening, it’s not very fun for them. If the pools are advertised as open to dusk, and it’s not raining, please don’t shut them down an hour before dusk!! 6. On-site bar/grill closes way too early - 7 pm most nights or 8 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Missed opportunity to not offer drinks until 9 or 10 on the weekend guys! 7. Pillows on the beds were not comfortable! I went home with sore shoulders, back and neck. 8. The towel card system was a pain, and seems so dumb. I assume this is so towels aren’t stolen? It was just a nuisance. 9. The 15% VIP discount should just be part of your room charge process, vs needing to carry a paper card with you and needing to present it at each meal The biggest issues we had were the inability to use the hotel pool (due to a waitlist) and the limited hours at the residence club - for onsite dining, the store and the pools/lazy River. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that most of these negatives are due to current staffing problems and will look forward to visiting again!…
This is probably the third time that my family and I have traveled to this resort. It is a beautiful property and I always dream about it during the winters when I am at home in Wisconsin. It is a clean property, the night sleep is very good, and the facilities are honestly to die for, they are some of the best in the area! First up, the cleanliness. Out of all of the three times I have been here, and most importantly this most recent time a few days ago, there has never been a cleanliness issue here. The bathroom was very clean, the balcony was screened in, which helps with bugs, and the beds had no bed bugs. My Rating for this Category: 5/5 Next, the night sleep. Because I was traveling with three other people (a total of four), I slept on the sofa bed and it was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The bed was very sturdy and almost brand new. It never felt like it was about to fall through and break at all. Finally is the facilities. The resort absolutely shines here in every way possible. There is a massive fitness center, more than three pools, a fantastic lazy river, volleyball, ping pong, tiki hut bars, and so much more. On certain days, you can even go to the Hyatt Regency and use their waterslides. It is truly a resort and a slice of paradise that I think everyone should get to experience in their lifetime. My Rating for this Category: 5/5 In the future when the time is right, we will definitely be back. My personal favorite part of the resort is the fantastic lazy river. You can go hours on it and never get bored. Besides that, the Hyatt is clean, the night sleep is fantastic, and the facilities are great. I would one hundred percent recommend this place to others without a doubt. Look no further if you are staying in Bonita Springs!…
We came for 2 nights before we fly home. We had been here previously in a 1 bedroom condo. This time all that was available was a studio. It worked just fine. Was just a little weird that there are dishes but no dishwasher or no dish soap left for us. There was a mini fridge but it didn’t have a freezer. The room still had adequate space and a screened balcony. We spent time on the lazy River and lounging under the tiki huts. The property remains well maintained and we would love to go back.
