For the most part a very nice 2 night stay. Food was reasonable quality and choices on fixed were good and tasty. Be aware that the rooms do not have A/C and the internet is down right horrible, barely functioning and only right beside the reception desk. the grounds are nice. monkeys and dik dik to see.vefy peaceful and the beds have mosquito netting.

This lodge is so charming, it was a perfect choice. The rooms are very private and spacious with lots of electrical plugs to recharge all of our electronics. The bathrooms are very spacious also, with very nice hot showers. There is a lovely little table and chair set outside each unit that we could sit at and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the birds and monkeys. The complex was about 30 minute Safari drive from Arusha park, which was perfect. The grounds are fenced in and very spacious, lots of room to roam. There is a lovely little trail along the river to walk, stretch your legs and explore. The meals were delicious and the staff was very hospitable and welcoming. I think Talika Emanuelil needs an extra recognition as our server. Talika was especially hospitable, he took time to talk to each one of us as her served our meals, he was truly interested in our conversations. I think servers should take notes from his exceptional ability as a super host. Thank you for giving us a super experience at Arumeru River Loge.

The lodge was our family stop before we headed off on safari. After a long journey from the UK via Addis Ababa the lodge offered a perfect place to rest ahead of our safari trek.

The estate is hidden away down a track and away from the main road, offering wonderful sanctuary.

The welcome was delightful and we quickly relaxed into our very comfortable rooms. My wife and I had a large double bed, our children (18 and 15 years old) shared a twin room, also with large beds.

We arrived mid-afternoon, providing time to rest a while and try out what proved to be a very chilly pool. Dinner was served buffet style and provided a wonderful array of local food, something for everyone.

Breakfast was similarly excellent and followed a very comfortable night plus very good showers.

Overall a very special place to be introduced to Tanzanian hospitality

Our stay was in November, 2019.
Excellent accomodations. The grounds are scenic and they have a special stand for viewing Mt. Kilimanjaro. There are Dik Diks on the grounds and the enclosed grounds area is safe to walk in at night. The cabins and lodge areas are very comfortable and relaxing. The faucet showers in the cabins are backwards from what we were used to and initially we thought there was no hot water. We were wrong, received some instruction and found plenty of hot water. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. The food was excellent and it was one of my favorite places we stayed. Highly recommend.

After Covid hit we had waited over 2 years to be able to take our safari trip to Tanzania. So I know there are not a lot of reviews for anywhere during the worlds shutdown. I had selected this Lodge as our first night and couldn't have been more grateful for the wonderful time. The staff was absolutely Amazing, so gracious and cheerful. Not one person looked at me as if I was a human tip dispensing ATM machine, they were honestly just glad to meet each and every guest. We had adjoining rooms which was perfect for my grandson, the food was incredible and far more than expected. It took us 27 hours to get to Tanzania and having such a fantastic oasis was an incredible experience. This would be my absolute favorite choice for any nights I needed before or after the safari touring, ours started the next day and we were totally refreshed, the dik diks are so calm and the monkeys so playful, lots of trees and grassy areas, completely fenced so everyone is safe to move about freely- the perfect choice for all 4 of us. Spacious rooms, just Thank You Arumeru River Lodge.

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting a local school and doing some hiking on Mt Meru. The lodge rooms are very comfortable, and we enjoyed the beautiful garden grounds. The food was very good and the staff were very attentive!

No AC so room a bit warm at night, could use more screens on windows but we still slept all night.

excellent stay for start of Tanzania safari trip, clean beautiful lush green property with great attention to quality of food. Clean rooms with secluded property in wooded area with dim dims, monkey and beautiful birds around the garden. Shower in the rooms can have curtains added as the water was getting sprayed all over due to bad shower head. Overall great stay.

This is a 'lodge' based in Arusha. It is the perfect place to relax before or after a safari. The comfortable rooms are in chalets spaced around the extensive grounds so you can relax, wander and spot monkeys and birds in the trees. My only criticism is, while the food is fine it is not excellent.

A pleasant and comfortable, quiet lodge set in lush gardens where dik dik live. We arrived quite late so didn't have dinner but breakfast service was polite and a generous spread is served. Lovely reception / lounge / bar area in traditional style. I didn't manage to get hot water to run but may have taken time.

Pauline and the staff at this lodge could not have been more welcoming. I stayed in total three nights here and loved it. From the gardens overrunning with monkeys and dik dik to the lovely refreshing pool area. wifi available in the main reception area which was fine for me and a lovely breakfast. Would be very happy to recommend it to anyone flying into Kilimanjaro.

The lodge is very flat with perhaps one or two steps. There are a number of the bungalows close to the main lodge where you have meals plus wifi available so i think just email Pauling the manager and ask her for the closest bungalow. You will not be disappointed it is a lovely property with great staff.

When I was there - yes - but best to contact the owners Thorsten and Maren Doenhoof direkt or send a mail to the lodge.

Hi, there is lots of options in the area - check out local markets, learn something about coffee, you can go horse riding, there is even a golf course close by. Sure that the lodge will help you to organize. Arusha from my point of view isn't that pretty, typical African though!
