One night stay, group tour (17 pax). No issues at all, warm welcome with a drink, easy checking, nice room with good mattresses and good bathroom with good water pressure in the shower. Diner was great, life cooking was very tasty, free glass of (red) wine offered by the management was a nice touch. Can highly recommend this hotel.

Friend and I decided to take a little Stay-Cation in our own City. We were lucky enough to choose The Marine. Booked into a little family suite which was fantastic. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a great little lounge and kitchenette. Plenty of space for us to relax. A few small issues – the kitchenette wasn’t properly stocked, were missing some glasses and a few other essentials, but to be honest, it wasn’t an issue. What was a bit of an issue was that the master bedroom is right near the vents and this can be very noisy and unfortunately one then cannot leave a window open. The master bedroom also gets a lot of noise at the evening shift change when the staff are coming and going. The pool is also nothing more than a splash pool on the roof with a great view. But who needs a large pool when there is a massive ocean just across the road? On the positive side, the staff are super friendly and willing to go the extra mile. We will 100% be back

We were severely disappointed previously staying at the Beach Hotel and the Radisson, which were awful - not experiences we want to repeat! This hotel has on the contrary high standards, with a beautiful spacious suite overlooking the sea, a safe car park, wonderful breakfasts and outstanding service. This includes the reception staff, who were always on standby, even during the evenings, to assist and even help with document copying, required for our journeys back to Europe and UK. The staff were warm, friendly and extremely helpful: we could not fault them. The adjacent restaurant, De Kelder, offered good food in a hospitable environment, with again excellent service. I can throughly recommend this hotel.

Disaster from start to end. With the exception of Phumena who was extremely professional, helpful and friendly, the whole staff and management on duty was a disaster. They advertised a swimming pool which in fact is a bathtub on the roof, the rooms supposedly available on their websites were in fact not available, the ventilation in the bathroom was so noisy that we had a technician visiting four times till he gave up without fixing anything as it wasn't fixable. The AC was a joke, impossible to use as it was as standing next to an air jet taking off in terms of noise. A big thanks to Phumena who tried to fix some of the calamities of her colleagues and helped us finding a great city tour!

The hotel is decent enough, beautiful see views and friendly staff. I was however utterly disappointed by the Restuarant for the both night I stay. First night I ordered room service dinner, I waited for more than two hours. I called the reception and Restuarant several times only to learn that my order was simply not prepared. Second night I ordered food, the food was delivered cold, quality of the preparation was substandard ☹️☹️ on both mains and desert. If this can be looked at, the hotel has a potential of really being the best due to location.

Accomodation and rooms decent and comfortable. Lobby captured Christmas spirit with a nice Xmas tree but all the goodness was killed by the restaurant experience.
19:30 tried call room service and ended up going in person because noone picked up. Placed the order and waited.
22:00 Went to enquire why the food order never came. By now , everyone is at dining area , shouting to get food manager to account. She is hiding in the kitchen.
23:00 its too late to get alternative delivery options. We drink fridge water and sleep.
Next day : 06:00 Am not risking my family to venture included breakfast in this horrible place. We gonna go out and look for a Wimpy.
If you travel with diabetics and younger children do no book here.

Stayed 1 night with group tour. Room with sea view with poorly closing windows in single glass (wind flew through) wifi ok. Great impersonal hotel. Dinner buffet style. Fish and meat. Breakfast ok. Few breads and croissants. Operation and clearance substandard. Rooftop pool is foot bath.

I was quite disappointed with the entire stay and expirience ! All the meats offered in the buffet were under cooked, the offering itself was appalling. Breakfast was worse! A trainee was working alone, without any support from the other (elderly) staff dressed in grey and white uniforms. Infact they were adding to this poor child’s distress! The buffet station ran out of bacon, I eventually had to make do with out, the ladies in grey were screaming at this child, who was alone busy with frying eggs and omelette orders! At some point the fruit station was out of select fruits, the ladies in grey expected the trainee to leave her station at the grill to refill the pineapples etc I’m appalled! Dishes were not cleared timeously from our table. I’d hate for any trainee to work there. And I hope none of my travels lead me to this establishment! The room I slept in was satisfactory. The location of the ‘hotel’ is pleasant.

The middle rating is all about the number of issues we had, nice room/lobby/bar area. At check in the key card machine didn't work so we had to be escorted to our rooms and security open it for use, cards were ready after 24 hours of being there. the staff were lovely people but I guess new to their roles, not very efficient, forgetting orders.....etc. One of 3 Proteas hotels we stayed in on this trip, this one was by far the worse of the 3. the pool was like a scruffy plunge pool, don't come here if you are planning to sit by a pool!!

The rooms were small, had very old furnishing. The breakfast menu was decent. They had local adventure tours being arranged from hotel. The rooms had a damp smell. We chose the family apartments by south sun marine due to its proximity to addi national park
