The untidiness of the renovations that you encounter on arrival is very off-putting. Was however pleasantly surprised by the tasteful décor inside. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was neat and tidy with adequate amenities provided. except for the ugly dirty stains all over the carpet. That was a huge disappointment. The bed linen wasn't too fresh - had very unpleasant odors .

What a wonderful experience, from being welcomed warmly at reception and taken through to your room only to realise it was recently renovated to dining next to a gaslit fire (which was a welcome respite from the winds and spring tide spray). The rooms look lovely (not that they didn't before). Black-out curtains, with a lovely patio seating where you can enjoy the sea breeze and a sundowner. The bed is very comfortable and care is taken throughout to ensure you get a 5* feeling. The dining experiences were amazing, and having a set menu ensures you get top quality at every sitting. Breakfast is sumptuous and very filling - try the omelette, you won't find fault. Dinner was another meal to look forward to, and I can testify to their ribs being the best I've ever had. There is a calm ambience about the hotel, and if you need more Zen, pay the spa a visit. The beach is a short walk from the Hotel and there is a shopping mall close by. Overall, it was one of my best experiences in a South African Boutique Hotel and Spa. I look forward to my next trip to PE and staying at the Isango Gate Boutique Hotel and Spa ~ Belinda

I recently stayed at Isango for a business trip. The location is, for the most part, good. It is set back a few blocks from the beach but some of the rooms have ocean views. It is also walking distance to some shops and restaurants (but I would Uber at night rather than walk). On the negative side, it is right next to a student dorm. I was there on a Wednesday night and one of the students turned their music up really loud at 10pm. it didn't last for long but I could see this being an issue on a weekend night. The place is very good value for the money. It must have been really something when it was first opened but could use a little updating now. That said, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a small gym with a few pieces of equipment (treadmill, elliptical, bike, etc.) and a pool for hot summer days. My room was huge with really high ceilings and a big, comfortable bed. The bathroom was filled with toiletries and had a huge tub in a addition to a shower. There was a nice balcony but the lock wasn't working properly so I couldn't go out (I'm sure the reception staff would have helped me if I had asked). The other issue is that the lock on the door of the room was challenging to lock and unlock - it was hard to get it to "catch". The breakfast the next day really nicely prepared - eggs and other breakfast items made to order. In short, this is an affordable place to stay. If they renovate the place, they could charge even more for the rooms.

It has everything you want if you're not in the mood for a large chain hotel experience. Rooms are large and comfortable, restaurant, bar and pool area are well laid out. It seems that the team is relatively new and aiming to improve on some details. I had a solid 4 star experience that would be a 5 if these small things do happen

The service was great. Extra effort was put in to ensure that our stay was effortless. The food was excellent! Well equipped rooms. I would recommend to maybe add a coffee station to the conference room so that anyone can grab a coffee at anytime. Otherwise, all was perfect and will come again.

The service received was very poor. The staff specifically suggested that our appointment would be better in the afternoon because of a soak-off and a concern should anyone's treatment is after us. We arrived early, the staff member had clear issues with having to soak off tips because of the time it will take which confused us because it's why we changed to the 13:00 slot. The mani/pedi being the most expensive part of the treatment was what we had the most issue with. The price paid is not worth what was received. MANI/PEDI 1: * Had to move around between rooms mainly because the nail tech was in a rush and it was just simpler than the process. * Both hands and feet are done well. Although I was surprised My bright red Pedi. In natural lighting turned out to be a neon orange. So far from " I want my nails to be the same red but I don't mind different shades". MANI/PEDI 2 (The dreaded soak-off): * No scrub took place. * The gel was put on in a rush and baked without cleaning up the cuticles. * After 3 coatings there are still holes in the finished mani. The only thing that saved it was the color and the fact that the nails were already shaped from the previous set. We understood that it will take time as mentioned before it's the reason behind the later appointment. The soak-off went well. But everyone has been rushed since starting the nails segment. So we just trying to keep calm and make the most out of the "spa day". Although in my mind I'm wondering since everyone clearly had somewhere to be why even offer a 9 pm slot when making the bookings? Personally, I wish they had said that they are fully booked because non of the staff wanted to be there and showed in their work. We could've gone to our normal nail techs and done a seated massage and received better service. This was not a good experience. By far my worst spa day. The massages were done well. My bright orange toes are not happy with the service nor are the messy patchy lavender manicure. For the next clients' experience. Do not accept bookings when staff clearly has other plans for that day. Do your nails in a room with natural light or natural light bulbs. The nail tech should be able to see that it's not red, it's orange by the second toe and fixes it.

We had an amazing fairy tale wedding. Such a beautiful surrounding of settings around the venue that gave our wedding pictures the most picturesque backdrop. Can't wait to see the pictures - thank you

Terrible boutique hotel. Damp and moldy smell. Booked accomodation and conference for 3 nights. Checked out after the 1st night and moved the conference. Non responsive management team. 15 delegates and 3 booked rooms. Won't recommend. Conference room has no ventilation also has a musty wet smell.
