Detailed Reviews
I recently stayed at Isango for a business trip. The location is, for the most part, good. It is set back a few blocks from the beach but some of the rooms have ocean views. It is also walking distance to some shops and restaurants (but I would Uber at night rather than walk). On the negative side, it is right next to a student dorm. I was there on a Wednesday night and one of the students turned their music up really loud at 10pm. it didn't last for long but I could see this being an issue on a weekend night. The place is very good value for the money. It must have been really something when it was first opened but could use a little updating now. That said, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a small gym with a few pieces of equipment (treadmill, elliptical, bike, etc.) and a pool for hot summer days. My room was huge with really high ceilings and a big, comfortable bed. The bathroom was filled with toiletries and had a huge tub in a addition to a shower. There was a nice balcony but the lock wasn't working properly so I couldn't go out (I'm sure the reception staff would have helped me if I had asked). The other issue is that the lock on the door of the room was challenging to lock and unlock - it was hard to get it to "catch". The breakfast the next day really nicely prepared - eggs and other breakfast items made to order. In short, this is an affordable place to stay. If they renovate the place, they could charge even more for the rooms.

Walter and the staff was amazing. They were very accommodating and offered extras that saved us money. They even gave us an extra room because we had spent so much money. The chef was also great as the food was delicious!

Unique hotel off the main road small enough for personal care. Rooms and hotel has been tastefully decorated. Meals available which removes the need to leave the hotel, staff very attentive and friendly. The only drawback is the student accommodation across the road if your room is sea facing.

I booked a spa treatment (hot stone aroma therapy) for 3 and the service I received at the Spa was appalling. Upon arrival we were directed to a changing room where we put on our robes. We were informed that only two could proceed for massages and the other would enjoy a moment in the sauna while they wait. Only to find that the sauna wasn't working and the therapist had said she'd return shortly to fix it and only came back after her session leaving my sister aimlessly waiting for 30 min. When we arrived at the Sauna to check on her the manager, Vuvu, after finding out the sauna wasn't working turned around and said "Too bad" and walked away.My mother and I had to sit at the SPA's small RECEPTION area in our robes whilst we waited for my sister to finish her massage. To say it was terrible would be an understatement. It certainly ruined a moment that was meant to celebrate my mother for being in remission. I am yet to receive the Sauna vouchers we were meant to receive. I absolutely love the hotel but I definitely wouldn't recommend their spa as my experience was everything but relaxing and peaceful.I actually feel horrible for taking people there and subjecting them to such horrid treatment.

Our stay at Isango Gate was great, the room and premises were exactly what we saw online and provided the much needed relaxation.
We especially enjoyed our spar treatment as it was our first time doing that, the therapists made us feel relaxed and comfortable.
If you dont feel like dining at their dining area you will enjoy dining at your private balcony like we did, we enjoyed our dinner while enjoying the evening's view.
Thank you to all stuff members for keeping a well oiled facility.

Very neat rooms close to amenities. It is a quiet place offering sea view which is such a good scenery. I really enjoyed facilitating at the Isango Gate where staff is always willing to assist and even go an extra mile to satisfy the guests.

What a wonderful experience, from being welcomed warmly at reception and taken through to your room only to realise it was recently renovated to dining next to a gaslit fire (which was a welcome respite from the winds and spring tide spray). The rooms look lovely (not that they didn't before). Black-out curtains, with a lovely patio seating where you can enjoy the sea breeze and a sundowner. The bed is very comfortable and care is taken throughout to ensure you get a 5* feeling. The dining experiences were amazing, and having a set menu ensures you get top quality at every sitting. Breakfast is sumptuous and very filling - try the omelette, you won't find fault. Dinner was another meal to look forward to, and I can testify to their ribs being the best I've ever had. There is a calm ambience about the hotel, and if you need more Zen, pay the spa a visit. The beach is a short walk from the Hotel and there is a shopping mall close by. Overall, it was one of my best experiences in a South African Boutique Hotel and Spa. I look forward to my next trip to PE and staying at the Isango Gate Boutique Hotel and Spa ~ Belinda

+1
I spoiled my mom to a hot-stone massage at the Isango Gate Boutique Hotel Spa for her 60th birthday. The process was enjoyable from start to finish with easy booking and professional service. The aromatic full body massage with hot-stones was a journey of relaxation from head to toe. Great way to spoil someone special!

The hotel needs an small upgrade. The carpets needs a good clean and some fresh new towels will be welcome. The breakfast was amazing! I would also suggest screening the guests daily especially if they're staying more than one night.

The service was great. Extra effort was put in to ensure that our stay was effortless. The food was excellent! Well equipped rooms. I would recommend to maybe add a coffee station to the conference room so that anyone can grab a coffee at anytime. Otherwise, all was perfect and will come again.
