Summer Blue is the place to be away from home.I stayed in the room facing the gardens an I truly enjoyed the queit gardens and cool breezes at night...couldnt wait to get back in the evening and chill in the garden. The room was cozy..the bed was sooo nice with a bed warmer..loved it!Most of all the host Theresa was an amazing hostess giving me tips where to visit and she packed me a delicious breakfast to go when I had early morning meetings..Thank you Summer blue staff for making my stay wonderful!

Stay:
had such an epic time at summer blue, the rooms are nice and spacious, well-furnished and comfortable. Well equipped with everything one could possible need for a warm comfortable stay. If I were to recommend a guest house in PE it would be the Summer Blue and the manner I would do that would be as if one had asked- what’s my name?

Hospitality:
They have a wide range of food to choose from for breakfast and everything comes in abundance. Really enjoyed their omelettes!!

Hostess:
In all is superb ambience, attraction and its great location-peace and quiet there is Baubie whom I missed after having left the place: she is an absolutely amazing hostess, very warm, caring and conversational person. She was efficient in every regard and they offer excellent service!!

I travel to PE with my wife fairly regularly for research and have tried a few places to stay...but nothing beats Baubie's for its home-from-home character, which is the main attraction for us.
There is nothing "blue" about Summer Blue! It has a very warm and happy environment with the comfortable room facilities which are neat and clean.
The breakfasts are something to be reckoned with! Everything is freshly done with a variety of options that would satisfy all tastebud types and successfully subdue any attempt of hunger pangs to strike back....and the toast is WARM!
Baubie has also become our "tourist guide", frequently helping us on where to go to acquire things difficult to find.
Each time we leave to return home it is leaving a friend in Baubie. She even phoned us to find out how my wife was after her op, and Shakepeare's saying, "parting is such sweet sorrow" rings very true when we depart from there.
As we have said, it is our "home from home", and Baubie is the home-maker supremo.

I have just returned to Cape Town after an incredible road trip across this beautiful country. After spending two weeks in a tent across the coast my friends and I were in need of a little luxury and comfort and decided to book into a B&B in PE. We could not have made a better decision than to stay at the Summer Blue Guest House. The rooms was impecable, large, clean and came equipped with a full kitchen. The beds were soft and comfortable and the breakfast was the single best we had the entire trip. Baubie tended to our every need as we spent the afternoon relaxing in the sunshine next to the clear blue pool. The perfect end to an awesome South African travel experience. More than just comfortable and homely, Summer Blue was very affordable. I can guarantee that if I am lucky enough to travel this country again, I will be spending a night or two at Summer Blue. Thanks for everything!

We stayed at Summer Blue in 2009 and 2011 whilst in Port Elizabeth for Ironman SA. Nothing is too much trouble for Baubie & Graham - they are exemplary in their welcome and in ensuring your stay is an enjoyable one. They are both knowledgeable about the local area and facilties on offer. The accommodation at Summer Blue is excellent - on both occasions our room had a kitchen area with fridge, microwave and anything else you might need. The rooms have been well designed and decorated with a homely feel. If you use Summer Blue as your base for the Ironman you will not be disappointed. Baubie prepares a tray breakfast for those with an early start who will miss breakfast. Their garage is also given over for the safe storage of bikes and bike boxes; reassembling bikes, etc. Above all, Summer Blue is the most wonderful place to relax both before and after the race. It is a 5 minute drive from PE centre and the Ironman start, but would also serve as an ideal base for your business trip or sightseeing the Eastern Cape in general.

We stayed at Summer Blue with a group of 14 so we occupied the whole guest house. We simply couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Bill, Nooks and Lulu were incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating and even cooked us breakfast in the mornings at a small charge. There were lots of different spaces to sit in (indoor lounge, outdoor lounge and table, garden) so you could spread out a bit and the pool was a really nice bonus. It was just perfect for us. Thank you Bill, Nooks and Lulu! Miss your smiling faces! :)

I spent two nights, one being new year's eve at Summer Blue and it was just the perfect way to end the year. The place is beautiful, peaceful and just complete luxury. Immaculately clean and comfortable, with the most wonderful staff. I spent hours in the sparkling pool and felt totally at peace.
Baubie; you make the most delicious breakfasts and you are the most wonderful hostess. I would recommend this place for luxury, comfort, excellent food and relaxing with nobody bothering you.
Thank you so much to you both. You really spoilt me.

We recently stayed for 4 days in this excellent guesthouse. I can just confirm what all the other reviewers said. The rooms are clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. Excellent WIFI in rooms as well. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast prepared by Baubie and her staff. You must try the omelettes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are going back in December. I can recommend Summer Blue Guest House to anyone wanting to overnight in Port Elizabeth. You won't be disappointed.

Great guest house. It was clean, very neat, spacious and quiet.
Baubie's attention to detail is startling - all the way down to the 30 point checklist for breakfast orders ;)
I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it.
