We extended our stay by one day having decided to move on from the previous game reserve which did not suit us and were so glad we did so. We stayed in Room 9 in the "2010" building across the road from the main building. With it's own lounge, dining area and small kitchen facility and a small swimming pool. The room was spacious and comfortable with large bathroom with tub and separate shower as well as a small garden too. Absolutely delightful. The hotel has a wonderful collection of various forms of art and there is a lovely book detailing all the pieces. Breakfast was good and we ate several times in the Jazz restaurant (see separate review). Staff friendly and helpful and it is only ten minutes from the airport. Highly recommended.

We had actually planned to stay at Hotel No5 by Manis in Port Elisabeth for just one night, but after spending some hours here we decided to extend our visit. The level of hospitality is truly outstanding, making our stay incredibly welcomed, comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel's incorporation of a wonderful art deco building with matching interior adds a distinctive touch to the overall experience. Staying in a place that seamlessly combines accommodation with a kind of museum creates a unique and enriching atmosphere, making the stay all . You just expect that Marlene Dietrich come down the staircase after filming the latest Josef von Sternberg Movie :-) The first night we stayed at the Executive Suite at Hotel No5 which is great. Elegantly designed and well-appointed, it provides a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The attention to detail in the decor and amenities makes the stay in the Executive Suite truly memorable. For the second night we choose to stay at the presidential suite which, in our opinion, is a true masterpiece. The tasteful and authentic furnishings create an atmosphere of opulence and grandeur. As we then had to extend for even one more night the staff really cared about us and was very helpful. The hotel has a charming small pool area, offering a perfect spot to relax and unwind. Additionally, the on-site restaurant is of a high quality, we tried it for dinner and room service and were never disappointed. Our stay at Hotel No5 by Manis in Port Elizabeth was very nice, great service , an unique art deco museum setting and great rooms.

Fabulous and enormous suite in stylish and quirky art hotel. Private patio area. Quiet hotel (even when a private event was being held in the wine cellar one evening). Very good breakfast and lovely public deck and pool area (alas too chilly to sit out for long). Only downside was repeated warnings that the area is “not safe after 5pm”. We risked it walking out to supper at 7pm both nights but sadly felt obliged to Uber home, ridiculously short distances.

Good day Sarah. Thank you for the positive review we really appreciate it. We love taking care of our guest and pride ourselves on expressing to guest that we are in a metropolitan area and would like to ensure that their experience is not negatively impacted. However we can understand how repeated warnings can come off as negative and will definetly work on expressing this in a better way. Regards

Lovely location with secure parking. Room was huge with separate lounge and bedroom. However although there are two large windows it never really had full sunshine and was dingy requiring lights at any time of day. There is no bath plug and you need to request this if you want a bath as there is a water shortage. We had dinner on the first night in the Jazz restaurant. The food was a little too fussy for our liking but was good quality. Breakfast is fruit juice to start and then a choice of breakfasts ranging from continental to cooked. You can only have one cup of coffee at a time and it seems to take quite a time to arrive. Would be good to have a pot. Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. Short drive to the beach and very close to the airport.

Good day Mudeford123 Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it and it will go a long way in assisting us to improve the way we deliver service. In response to your points above, we have revisited the bath plug idea and a looking at different solutions for it going forward. To address the coffee issue, we have sent our staff for a refresher training in service so that service can improve in quality and speed. We have also invested in a few coffee pots to assist in easing the pressure on busy mornings. We hope you find this satisfactory and look forward welcoming you back with these improvements in mind. kindest regards

Everything about our stay hit the spot. The staff is amazing and goes out of their way to help. We had an early flight and they packed breakfasts for each of us and arranged an airport transfer. There is gated parking out front as well. The hotel is a short walk to the beach front. But on a quiet street. We had dinner at the hotel which was excellent. Rooms are huge and quiet with plenty of amenities. A great spot and highly recommend.

At the time we went this was the best hotel room we had ever stayed in. I say that because there was better to come later on in the trip. The hotel is a beautiful Art Deco building in small private grounds, conveniently 10 minutes or so walk from the Boardwalk Mall. I'm not sure if our room was representative but it was a huge Art Deco suite. "Suite" often means big room with a sofa in it, but this had distinct entrance hall, sitting area and bedroom. The bathroom was huge as well. The decor was ochre and black with loads of mirrors. The restaurant is perfectly good as well but as stand out as the beautiful rooms. As always in South Africa, the service was great.

This hotel is a real gem, a diamond, in fact. It is less than 100 metres from the beach, too. Everything was immaculate and very comfortable, The Art Deco furniture is stunning. We were thrilled with our room. Sadly, we only had one night there. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and our excellent waitress, Hilda, asked whether we would like to watch an old movie afterwards in the 14-seater private cinema. She even brought our desserts to our seats! We would love to pay another visit one day.

An amazing hotel, close to the beach and boardwalk. Suite was immaculate, very clean and well designed. Only had breakfast, but is was superb. The stand out feature was the staff. Everyone was polite, friendly and very professional. We only stayed one night after 21 hours of flying as it was only a 10 minute driv3 from tne airport. Wished we could have stayed longer.
