At first glance the hotel is well renovated, neat and clean. The rooms are comfortable and have everything that you require. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The noise levels are however unpleasant. We could hear our neighbors talking at the top of their voices for hours. We were in a room with an adjoining door, so possibly that is why. The noise that can be heard from downstairs, and from the street seems to go on all night. Youngsters drinking in the parking lot literally across the road, making one heck of a noise, loud shouting, totally spoiled the occasion for us. Its a lovely hotel, but it is on a busy road, opposite a VERY littered beach, broken bottles, empty alcohol bottles, rubbish everywhere you look. NOT the Hotels fault, but unfortunately made for an unpleasant stay due to this.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are better, but be aware of the noise that comes in from the road below and beach...

Stayed over for few nights. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Good value for money. Standards are such that i would happily bring my wife. Restaurant standards can be better though. Food were pricey but then again you are at the ends of the republic in port nolloth. Staff were friendly and helpful during our whole stay. All in all an enjoyable stay.

The location of the hotel is right next to the beach and the seafacing rooms have got wonderful views. The rooms are really nice and clean and almost better than a 3 star rating.

The hotel is within walking distance from various restaurants. Room service was really good, but unfortunately our breakfast left much to be desired. A lot of items wasn't available, but that was the case at most places in Port Nolloth.

Staff was very friendly and all in all a nice experience!

On a 10 day working stint. Saturday night (first night, 19.08) had music playing excessively loudly from the bar directly downstairs. Ear plugs didn't even work.

A calm and reasonable request to reduce the volume was referred from the bouncer to reception and the manager, indicating that the bar and hotel are linked in their management. The manager stated that the noise should have been communicated at arrival. These parties are reportedly accepted on Fridays and Saturdays with loud music until 02:00am. The manager has no solution and reception/management suggested I find different accommodation.

Given that the management of the bar and hotel are linked, this inconvenience should be advertised to bookers and Fri/Sat rates renegotiated. I actually think such an inconvenience shouldn't exist if you run both the bar and hotel, but being honest at booking already would at least be respectful. The current case is one of committing to a booking and then being suggested to leave when other options are no longer available. This does feel dishonest and I'll certainly demand they refund the company for my sleepless evening here with work early tomorrow, trust the noise will actually be down during the week, and stay clear of the hotel next weekend.

If you're willing to pay R1500 to go to bed at 02:00 on a Fri and Sat it's worthwhile, the rest of the facilities are in decent order.

Please note: I've visited this establishment about four times over the last 5 years and only as a patron of the restaurant. Therefore this review is of the restaurant section only. The hotel section I have no experience of and therefore I must make the distinction.

I had thought that coming to a hotel restaurant, it would uphold and set a benchmark for other restaurants in the area. Usually any visit to a hotel for dinner should be a special occasion, and it's with that expectation that I tried this place again. Now my previous visits weren't that spectacular, and this visit was in keeping the previous ones, hence, consistent, but meh.
There is no innovation. The chef shows no individual flair, and the menu remains tired and drab. There were old favourites, but after five years, I thought there'd be something new.
Dishes served were clearly precooked then frozen, then reconstituted in the oven, cos when you do that you pork, it becomes lifeless as far as taste is concerned. Side dish of carrots basically takes two minutes to saute in the pan, and the only comforting parts of the dishes was the baked potato and chips.
I hope this critique is received well, as I would like your establishment to be a bastion of quality that other surrounding places can look up to. It only bodes well for visitors to your lovely town, as well as locals seeking fine dining.
Kind regards

A holiday visit turned into an ordeal. The restaurant was closed and no food or drink service. On 1st January, everything in Port Nolloth was closed and we ended up eating crackers and cheese for dinner. All that was a available. Little did we know off the horror that was still to come. At 9 pm the hotel club started up and the noise kept us awake until 3am. Reception did nothing, the manager was not answering her phone and we eventually phoned the police to close the club.

A hotel is a place where one is supposed to eat, sleep and drink. We were not able to do any of this. Would love to understand this business model.

I was impressed at first with the cleanliness of the hotel, but then at midnight the disco got going, especially when staying in room 15 or 16. Street fights and arguments were on going through the wee hours of the morning. Breakfast was expensive, with the staff not even knowing how to operate a Nespresso machine. Will definitely not stay here again

Dont stay on a Friday or Saturday night - the disco will not let you sleep - even in the morning before 8.00am the music is still pounding. The restaurant was closed for renovations, they don't supply a full roll of toilet paper, the wifi failed entirely, the hotel is one back from the beach, but our view was of the ATM across the road., but the room was neat and tidy, and very clean - don't think we'd rush to stay here again

We visited Port Nolloth and was told that the restaurant in the Scotia Inn was excellent - proved true. Great seafood menu as well as other selections. Very clean - lovely outside seating. Very friendly staff an lovely food. Service just a bit on the slow side..but unfortunately that seems to be the norm in all the restaurants in Port Nolloth!
