Old, tired, dusty and run down. This park is way past it's prime. The couple that runs the park were rude and not in the least accommodating. We stayed one night, and that was more than enough. Will never stay here again.
nice, quiet, clean restrooms and friendly people. great for a day trip to the Dinosaur National Monument and another day looking at the native petroglyphs, especially Carrot Man Site. also dont miss the Rangley Outdoor Museum. Rangley automotive museum, wanted to go but it was closed
This is a nice little park for over night. The entrants is a small road so you have to keep your eyes wide open..or you will miss it. The sites are very level but not more than 50 feet...so you might have to break apart.
The hosts were helpful. They recommended a nice restaurant and supplied a needed pressure regulator when we didn't have one. Everything was very clean. Nice place to choose when you are going to Dinosaur National Monument. Be sure you have your real Good Sam card and not just the #. We had the #, but not the card. Wouldn't give us the discount. Hadn't had that problem elsewhere. Other than that, it was fine.
We were on the return leg of our solar eclipse trip to Wyoming, and the sun was getting low in the sky as we approached Rangely, CO, so I gave them a call. It was a Monday evening and they had room. I had saved their number based on other reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. Check in was painless. She explained that the wifi worked sporadically, but that wasn't a big issue for us. When you're traveling out West a lot of times cell service is sporadic, and wifi service is limited unless you are in a larger town. The campground was well maintained and clean, and although we didn't require hookups with our trailer, they were available. Showers and restrooms were very clean, always a plus when you've been camping in the rough for a few days! It's a little over a mile east of town, so it's no problem to run to town to get a bite to eat. It is located next to some industrial establishments, so there was a little noise and truck traffic in the morning, but nothing annoying. Rangely does have an "off road vehicle" event in the summer, and there is a lot of hunting in the surrounding areas, so it would be advisable to make reservations ahead of time for these events.…
