My wife and I wanted to view the McClure and Kebler pass leaves and colors plus do the wineries in the West Elk Valley. Found this wonderful B and B in between Hotchkiss to the West and Paonia to the East, and what a find it was. The inn has several guest rooms, a suite and a yurt. We made reservations less than 24 hours before leaving Denver and had to “settle” for the suite.....wow! It sleeps six in a very comfortable 2nd floor get away. Had its own alarm system at sun up with a rooster letting us know it’s time to see the sites and enjoy a great breakfast prepared by Nancy, the owner. Nancy is one of a kind with a great personality, business acumen to make your stay unforgettable, and cook a AAA breakfast while you discuss the previous day adventures with your peer guests. Not to mention very clean accommodations. The grounds (28ac) are alive with ag products, flowers, trees and beautifully laid out. Great walking. We plan to come back in the spring to see Nancy’s work in the gardens and grounds. John, the farm hand has some great ideas to assist Nancy in her taking the inn to an fully sustainable resort. Pretty cool. What a gem!!…
Agape is an incredibly clean, welcoming, and relaxing place to stay for your time in Paonia. A few minutes outside the town, makes it incredibly quiet and perfect for a laid back weekend. Nancy and Nick are both extremely welcoming and cook an amazing breakfast every morning that's not to be missed. Should we find ourselves back in Paonia, we'll definitely be returning if they have availability.
We stayed in 3 nights in the Yurt. Everything was fabulous from the enchanting night breezes to the amazing views, one of the best is the screen door framed vista that you see the moment you open your eyes in the morning! Breakfast was delicious and fresh, the outdoor dining area is wonderful. The grounds were overflowing with flowers and fruit. Did not want to leave!
Agape is incredibly peaceful and comfortable. Not only are the views breathtaking, but the rooms themselves are perfectly cozy and clean! The host is very personable, kind, and an excellent cook. We didn't want to leave!!
Agape was a magical place and exactly what we needed to take a break from busy Denver and feel grounded again. Nancy and her family, farm interns included, felt like family to us. Agape is beautiful and so comfortable and and the fresh home cooked meals were nourishing and so delicious. We loved the animals and were sad to leave but grateful we chose to stay. We can’t wait to go back! -Sarah and Jamie Scoular, Denver, CO
