I booked this location for 2 nights, we only lasted 1 and will never return. As soon as you walk in there is this weird smell in the place. I later realized it's some sort of air freshener trying to cover up the smoke smell that seems to be embedded in the walls. This location needs a major upgrade. Everything seemed to be dirty, from the holes in the wall, the unstable toilet (moves when you sit), the shower curtain about to fall off the wall and doesn't stay closed because it's leaning off the wall (see pics) to the crud built up in the shower, this place is not good. The bed itself wasn't terrible however the bedding was not great and the pillows were not a standard size, they were small. The bed itself had a metal bar sticking out and is dangerous. The desk was fine but there are no outlets to plug in your computer unless you unplug the microwave nearby. Our room was non-smoking, I'm not sure if smoking is allowed in the building but we could smell smoke coming into our room from the bathroom vent. It smelled like someone was blowing smoke right into our room, it was terrible. I had to purchase an air freshener to mask the order. If you can stay somewhere else, please do. This place was over $250/night and not worth a penny.

Probably the worst hotel we've ever stayed in, for multiple reasons. We booked our stay here as a mudslide took out the road through the Rockies and we couldn't reach Denver. Imagine, if you will, needing to book a hotel last minute due to a natural disaster, finding out that all the hotels within an hour and a half distance are fully booked because it's about 3 in the afternoon on a weekend. We called everywhere and this was the only hotel that had availability - we were so relieved and grateful. Then we arrived at the hotel to find that the price they quoted us on the phone wasn't what they were going to charge us, they bumped up the price. Ok... at least we have a place to rest for the night, we figured. Then we get into the room and it's filthy. Kid you not we couldn't get to sleep fast enough to just get out of there as early as possible and leave this nightmare of a hotel behind. The floors had stains, the chairs were stained, the walls were covered in mold, the towels had a constellation of stains so disgusting we decided to dry ourselves with our clothes rather than touch the towels. Now we wish we'd seen the review about the bed bugs - we'd have slept in our car. Being that this was the grossest place we'd ever stayed we called the parent company - Choice Hotels - to relate our experience. Never once have we ever called to complain about any hotel we've ever stayed in. We asked them what we should do and they told us it was appropriate to ask the hotel for a refund and suggested we called them. So we did. Part two of this lovely experience includes the owner of the hotel telling us that we - along with everyone else online who has left a review reflecting how awful this place is - are just scammers, and that we shouldn't feel bad about being scammers, it's just what we are. He was belligerent and unapologetic, consistently telling us we were liars and when we said we weren't getting anywhere we'd just follow up with Choice Hotels he started screaming how we were threatening him. In sum - filthy hotel with a delusional owner who will belittle and yell at you if you raise any complaint. I hope no one ever has the misfortune of needing to stay here.

Stayed for one night--will not return. Overall the room was not bad: in serious need of an update and with stains in the carpet but it seemed clean. It was after the stay that things went south. After I got home I received the invoice and noticed the pet fee had been charged three times and refunded once (overcharging me one pet fee). I called and was told that the extra charge would be taken care of. Two days later it was still on my credit card. Emails went unanswered. Phone calls were always pleasant but resulted in nothing but excuses and assurances that it would be fixed. After many phone calls the extra charge was still not refunded so I gave up and filed a complaint with my credit card. It was a huge and unnecessary hassle over something that should have been easily resolved. I don't feel that I could trust them to bill me correctly next time so I will avoid this hotel in the future. My advice: if you stay here check your invoice before you leave.

I avoid this property unless nothing else is available in Montrose, where I stay a couple of times a month. There has not been a room in which I have stayed where the desk chair was functional. They all stay at the lowest height. This time there was not even any breakfast. Only small wrapped sweet rolls were available. The owner says he has to go all the way to Grand Junction to get the other wrapped foods (Covid driven). OK, well, don't charge 3 figures for your rooms if you are at the comfort and quality level below the cheapies in town. The sign on the door requires face masks for all guests, but the staff refuses to wear them. The "Business Center" is a joke. 1 computer that was not functional. Oh, you want a receipt. You will have to wait until 7 AM, even though the sign says no service from 11 PM - 6:30 AM.

Book this hotel online. I walked in to book and got a poor deal. The manager agreed to give me the online price but didn't give it to me for the entire stay. When challenged about the price the owner got defensive and didn't try to provide customer satisfaction or match an online price. The hotel was adequately clean though it clearly has not been updated for many years. The furniture had a lot of wear, and the bedspread had such a large hole I could put my hand through it. Unfortunately there are not a lot of options in this small town of Delta, CO.
