Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I absolutely loved it here. Great location on North Shore. Our room faced the lake with an unbelievable view. Rooms are very spacious, a little older, but very clean. Enjoyed the paddle boards and live music right on property. Although it was just my husband and I, so many families having a wonderful time creating such a great vibe. Staff was very nice as well. Highly recommend. Another great feature is they will text you about events at resort and you can just text them any quick questions without going to the office or calling and receive a quick response.

This resort is great as it is a beachfront property, has it's own private beach, which works great with kids. The facilities are cool. They have a ping pong table at the beach. Fire pits, lots of beach lounge chairs, barbecues. The rooms have diagonal windows to get a view of the lake at all times.
Our room was cozy, comfortable with clean kitchen and all the pots and pans and accessories. The gas oven was great!
It's located right next door to a lot of good restaurants, grocery stores, so having a kitchen was a plus.
The property management keeps contact via text messages, which I thought was great in the covid times, and they also had hand sanitizers kept in almost every area of the property.
Cool place to relax and enjoy 🙂
Great place, will recommend!!
Keep up the good with guys!!!

+1
We had a wonderful stay at Mourelatos! Everyone was so responsive and friendly with all our numerous questions and requests prior to booking, leading up to our stay and during our stay! The text communications and checkout were on point. Our room was very clean and well appointed, Covid- safety protocols in place, bed was comfy with cozy duvet comforter and fireplace was great. We had a stunning lake view from our room where I had my coffee every morning gazing at the waves and the dreamy snow covered beach. The fire pits at sunset were a. Ice detail, The hot tub was perfect.
We came for a ski/boarding trip and Mourelatos is so conveniently located in a gorgeous lakefront location only 15 minutes from Northstar and 20 minutes to Homewood or Diamond Peak. It’s a boutique motel so keep in mind you can hear people walking outside the rooms and there is street noise but that was expected.
We would definitely love to stay here again!

I will start by saying I booked this place because it had good reviews .... I absolutely do not share the same feelings. I thought long and hard before leaving this review as we are still here until morning, but once we got back to the room and it was still 82° @ 8:30pm in here. I am less than thrilled and figured I would leave the review now. I’m so unhappy with the room that we have done everything we can to be out of here the entire time therefore never once using the beach out front yet we will be still billed the $30 a day resort fee... not to mention sleeping in the same sheets every day when your room is 82° feels nice and nasty. The office staff was nice enough to give us a fan that is completely useless. The hotel has wooden decks outside so every time the children are running up and down late at night it sounds like a herd of elephants. I’m sure this is a great place if you have children that you like to let run around and be loud. I had to call down and ask for new coffee cups as the cups that were in our room were more like thin tea cups that did not even hold one 8 ounce Keurig cup of coffee and burned your lips. We did not bother to drink their coffee as we brought our own Keurig. The linens feel rough like they are dried in super hot heat. The towels feel like sandpaper, they were kind enough to bring us new ones that felt a little less sandpapery. When you brush your teeth in the bathroom the floor creek so bad it sounds like you’re going to fall through. The microwave is useless... tried to warm up a cookie 2 1/2 minutes later it wasn’t even warm. Trying to find parking when you get back in the evening is a little rough. I understand that we are in a pandemic so I was ok with no house keeping but who sleeps well when it’s 82 inside. Mind you it’s 70 outside. Had I read a review like mine I would’ve saved myself this grief! The only reason I am even giving two stars is because the staff were nice.

Response from Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort, General Manager at Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort
Responded 31 Aug 2020
We are so sorry you had this experience. We are a summer beach resort that caters to young families and proud of that heritage. We do post quite hours and work to provide plenty of activities for everyone so all are typically quite by the evening. We do acknowledge a lack of air conditioning in the rooms at certain times of the year is an issue for some. We do provide a portable air conditioning unit that works well to address cases like yours. We are sorry we did not have the opportunity to diploy. Our laundry is done in house and we are conforming to COVID-19 protocols which we have posted on our web site. We assure our guests are getting clean and sanitary linens. We typically do not get complaints about the feel and quality but we understand that they may not have met your standards and do apologize. We are regularly investing in room maintenance and upgrades. We are aware of certain units with bathroom noise issues and have plans to address these in the Fall as it will require a significant effort to address. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for the noise. The Mourelatos Lakeshore has so many seasons that make being at a beach front property on the lake. Outside of the Summer season, the resort is much quieter and tranquil where many relax and cherish the view and environment. We hope you give the resort another opportunity to deliver the value you deserve. Thanks again for your input. Alex Mourelatos General Manager

This property is in Tahoe Vista, a small town along Highway 28 in north Lake Tahoe. It is a motel-style property but the rooms are very spacious and large. We were in Room 111, a first story room at the end of one wing of the property. It was as large as a studio apartment, with a king sized bed, living area, breakfast room, full kitchen and full bath. Plus, it had a huge wraparound deck overlooking the lake! The deck had lounge chairs and a full patio table with seating. The property is in an ideal location.
The staff at the resort are all very friendly and helpful. They texted us after our first night to make sure everything was good. The resort also offered live music at night, from a deck on their private beach. It was a treat to listen to music while relaxing on our deck and watching the sunset. The private beach is sandy and features lounge chairs with umbrellas, along with various watercraft to rent. The lake is shallow at its edges and we could wade in quite a distance without the water even reaching our knees. The water is clean and cool and refreshing.
We liked this property a lot and would return.

Mourelatos was such an amazing place to stay on a busy weekend that had epic snow conditions. We had booked this place pretty last minute and it was the more affordable place we could find that was nearby Northstar. The room I had originally booked was a lake view room and to our surprise - we did only got a partial lake view room. Michelle was kind enough to explain to us that since we booked with a third party - they tend to advertise incorrectly. However, she still accommodated us and moved us into a lake view room. The room was gorgeous and hugeee. The bed was quite comfortable and the kitchen had everything you’d need! Everything was done via text and they were so responsive and so kinddd! I would totally return to mourelatos!

I happened upon the Mourelatos as I was looking for a last minute getaway to Tahoe for the family. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived, at the proximity of the Hotel to so many quaint local spots! Nevertheless, I was so impressed by the room! Arriving at the end of winter it was so pleasant to open the door and have the fireplace cracking upon arrival. It truly was refreshing!!! My family and I were so happy with the size of the room, it was really like a mini loft, the spacing in the room when the pull out couch was out was still enough to walk around. The kitchen was perfect with all the appliances that we would need. We were able to cook two pizzas in the oven at once. I was also pleased that there were pots, pans, dishes, and silverware. The service at the Mourelatos was great they are a small staff but have a fantastic service and text system to attend to your needs. Having arrived at night one of the biggest surprises in the morning was seeing the view of Lake Tahoe!!!! It was breathtaking!!
We will definitely visit the Mourelatos again! It is our new family favorite, a jewel in the Tahoe region!!

Booked on Hotel Tonight for a great price. Resort fee was $20 they normally charge $30. Basic large room with a lake view. Great staff, lake toys, kayaks etc, perfect beach with all the umbrellas and reclining chairs you need. Great location. Small frig and microwave were handy. Larger kitchens are available. Will return.

We loved how private and quiet our room was and the sweet hospitality of the front desk and how attentive the staff was at returning our text messages and quickly attending to our needs. Thank you Corrine and Michelle.
We would love if you could offer your guests secure wifi so we could work from our lap tops.
We are already planning another trip to this blessed lake front retreat with full kitchen!!!
Respectfully, Sherrie

We are sorry, we are not pet friendly.
