We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Glen Lodge. Our arrival was slightly chaotic with cleaning still ongoing after check-in time, but it turned out OK in the end. We found our cabin to be cute, with a large bathroom. However, the place was very drafty near the door and windows, and often cold in spots even with the heater going. The kitchen was well-stocked for all cooking needs, but you do need to make sure you clean, dry, and put away all dishes before you leave or there’s an extra cleaning fee. The location was perfect, with a beautiful stretch of the lake accessible across the street. Other people mentioned a bottle of wine in their reviews, but we didn’t receive that. Charlie was a great staff person and we appreciated his efforts to make our stay a pleasant one.

This is a very nice cozy lodge! The location is great, right across from the lake and restaurants close by. It was very clean with a coffee pot and if you forget your personal items like shampoo and soap its all there for you. The decor is rustic and cozy.

My husband and I stayed in a lodge room for 3 nights in July 2024. The room was spacious enough for the two of us and decorated nicely. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The biggest downside was finding out upon check-in that none of the rooms in the lodge have air conditioning! We were there during a particularly hot week and only having a window fan at night wasn’t enough to keep us cool. We were told only the cabins have A/C but they were all booked so we couldn’t upgrade. The website does mention they have A/C but does not specify there is none in the lodge rooms.
The only other negative is the lack of food available. They have no restaurant on site and no vending machines. They do offer coffee, tea, and water in the lobby, which was nice.
Some of the other pluses were nice views, swimming pool, fire pit area, and convenient location to many attractions.

Service: Everyone was nice enough, the "bring your own wine bar" was not what I was expecting when they said "wine bar". Rooms are only cleaned if you ask, so you have to either find an employee or call the front desk.
Location: Great for summer, too far from ski resorts in the winter.

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us! We do have a cancellation policy in place like most hotels and we are able to work with guests and are flexible with reservations when there is a good reason to cancel such as closed highways or possibly family emergency. We aren't able to cancel last minute when there isn't good reason unfortunately. We are 20 minutes away from 4 ski resorts (Northstar and Palisades Tahoe included) which is hard to find anywhere in the U.S and our guests love the ability to choose between multiple resorts depending on weather and ability of the skier. Thanks again for coming to Cedar Glen Lodge!

Such a beautiful property, wonderful green grounds, great units with well equipped kitchen, close to downtown and many hiking trails. What’s not to love about this place. We actually went in the midst of the pandemic (summer 2021, system didn’t have a choice as it’s a late review) and they took great precautions in ensuring the safety of the guests. We stayed in one of the stand-alone units and felt very safe. While at the time there was no room service, similar to most hotels, they did remove trash that you could leave outside as well as fresh towels daily. They have picnic benches outside that we used on several occasions be it lunch/dinner or just for coffee/tea. You can see lake Tahoe from the grounds. There’s also a pool for use. The property manager provides ingredients for s’mores that you can make in the fire pit. They even offered chairs and other beach stuff for us to take to the beach and enjoy which was icing on the cake. Loved it and will absolutely stay here again.

Our family has been coming here on and off for the last 12 years and this summer we had the best experience of them all. All of the employees were so helpful and friendly with whatever we needed. Our family stayed for just under a week and the housekeeping staff was great and really helpful whenever we needed anything. The proximity to the lake is so amazing, literally across the street, such a great spot for a family vacation. We plan on coming back next year and every year after. Thanks Cedar Glen Lodge!

I spent so much time looking for an accommodation, because my wife is very picky...hell I can sleep on cardboard boxes....
I booked the Romance suite - which is a standalone cabin and we have a gas fire place and our own kitchen.
My wife absolutely enjoyed and loved this place - she especially loved the bed because it was comfortable, and the fireplace because it kept her warm. The Bathroom was clean and bright.
The kitchen was pretty nicely equipped as well, so we were able to get groceries and cook in the cabin; the staff was also kind enough to let me use the grill for grilling. We baked fish, grilled meat, drank wine and ate cheese in the nicely warmed up cabin. Every morning, we buttered up the frying pan and had fried eggs.
The staff is amazing as well; coffee every morning, both regular and decaf. One day, we were driving back from a flurry of snow and called to plow our parking and cabin area - when we arrived our area was plowed and it was easier for me to park in the snow. The staff even provided me with a parking space that allowed me to get in and out easily.
Location is great too; there is a quiet beach across the street. It's only a 10 min walk and I went there a few times with my wife to enjoy the sunset and sunrise.
This lodge is very nice and worth staying when you visit Tahoe....I can't thank the staff enough for their hospitality. Thanks!

This is one of the most beautiful and cozy cabin to stay. Especially for someone who lives in California Bay Area, this is a very nice weekend getaway relaxation resort.
Pros: very nice location right near Lake Tahoe. Cabins are comfy and beautiful and very clean. Electric charging station option. Very friendly staff and very helpful.
Cons: you don’t have breakfast buffet option and another very minor one. Bathroom shower water is very slow. I think this is mainly because of the California drought, any hotel or resort you go usually the showers will have additional filters to limit water usage. Well this would be ok during the summer but when weather outside is very cold, having water running this slow might be a big disappointment for some guests.

We recently stayed at Cedar Glen Lodge in Tahoe Vista. What a sweet lovely resort. The rooms were recently updated and are lovely and have that cabin resort feel. We had a room with a kitchenette which allowed us to prepare our own food. A definite perk. The resort is a work in progress it has lots of activites and a pool, The pool area is nice, but definitely could use some updates along with the outdoor carpeting on the patios at the lodge. Despite that we felt it was clean inside the rooms. Private beach access across the street. They provide beach chairs and coolers if needed as well. The service is excellent. We had an issue with our reservation, but with prompt assistance by all the staff and Charlie the manager it was cleared up. The staff was extremely helpful in general. It was a surprise birthday party for a family member and it was made extra special by having it at this resort. It's a great location, quiet with amazing views of the lake. We will stay there again!

We were in one of the cabins - one away from the office. I don't recall if that was room 11 or room 12. But, the wifi was not great in that room. We had to find "just the right spot" to be able to make a phone call from the room - and at times, had to go outside near the picnic table area to make a phone call. (We have AT&T.)
Yes, all rooms with kitchens are equipped with cookware as well utensils, plates, glasses, etc.. Should you need an item that is not provided, please inquire at the front desk and we will do our best to accommodate. Please stay safe and we'll see you soon.
Thanks for getting in touch! Our "single studio cabins," do share walls with other units. If you are looking for a unit that doesn't share walls with any others, then you need a "stand alone." The stand alones are "Romance Suite #6," which accommodates 2 people, Fireplace Cottages #7 & #8, which are for 4, as well as the Anniversary Suite #15.
Hope this helps, but please feel free to give us a call. We'd love to talk to you and help you find the perfect accommodation!
