The front desk was so helpful with our short notice stay. The room had an ocean view with a wonderful breeze. It was a warm weekend but didn’t have to use the AC once. The bed was firm but comfortable. The rooms are unusually spacious and while a little older, still very clean and updated. Highly recommend!

1 bedroom, 1.5 bath hotel room Travel Dates: 1 week in June Guests: Husband, Wife, two 12 year old boys, 7 month old, and my brother in law for 2 nights Purpose of travel: Spending time at the beach while visiting family. We spent our days at the beach and our late afternoon/evenings enjoying the hotels kid friendly amenities. My father in law recommended this hotel to stay at, and it’s proximity to my husbands relatives are why we initially chose this hotel. And YES, we will definitely stay here again. We had a great experience. We traveled from Arizona to San Clemente to visit my husbands family and spend time at the beach. The staff at the hotel was exceptionally nice and were able to help us with all of our questions. The Lobby was beautiful and a nice calming place to hang out with the baby each morning while we waited for the family to pick us up. When I left the hotel, I asked the boys what their favorite part of the hotel was - they both said the indoor and outdoor games. My husband and I would have to agree. The boys enjoyed the independence of being able to play the outdoor games in the safety of the hotel whenever they wanted without an adult (an added perk, we could see the boys in the outdoor game areas from our balcony on the 2nd floor). The front desk was also amazing with them. The boys felt comfortable going to the front desk multiple times per day to get the equipment they needed to play with all the amenities (ex: golf ball and putters and bags for corn hole.)The indoor game room had an air hockey table and pool table, as well as a large screen tv with couches for the boys. Outside, the boys played the 9 hole putting course numerous times. They enjoyed the outdoor shuffle board, ping pong table, and corn hole games. They also have a free movie Checkout in the lobby - the boys checked out a movie but we never stayed in our hotel room long enough to watch it. There were too many fun, outdoor activities to do at the hotel. Mid week, my husband invited his family over and we were able to use the outdoor grill (with no reservations) to make hot dogs and burgers for everyone. We were able to hang out at the picnic tables and enjoy playing putt putt and shuffle board with our family. Friday and Saturday night, that grill was very busy with a large family gathering. There is a second grill on the south side of the hotel near the corn hole game and ping pong table. There we met other small families also grilling. This was honestly the best part of our stay. It was so nice to be in California and not have to stay indoors. Just being able to host a get together for our family and having outdoor entertainment for the kids was fantastic. Once it got dark, the adults went to a new restaurant / bar they have at the hotel. Mom got to go back to the hotel with the kids and the baby. But my husband had a wonderful time sharing drinks and quality time with his family. It was so nice he didn’t have to drive anywhere. The location of this hotel was perfect!! The hotel was literally right off the highway. When my husband went to the beach with just the boys, they were able to take a walk from the hotel down to the beach. With the baby, we took the car for the 2 min ride to the beach with all the baby gear. Most days after the beach, my husband used the outdoor shower to wipe the sand off the boys and they went in the pool. The pool was heated and very deep. The shallow end was about 3-4 ft. The deep end went to 8 ft very quickly. The boys met different kids everyday at the pool to play with. There were 2 hot tubs - one for the kids (that was only a few degrees warmer then the pool - not too warm, and half the size of the adult hot tub) and one for the adults. The adult hot tub was large and spacious. It was so great to relax in there. Both the pool and the hot tubs were very clean. I don’t usually get in pools in hotels because they are so dirty…. But this pool and hot tub were very clean. There was also a foosball table on the pool deck. I was surprised how functional our hotel room was. First, I like the 2 bathrooms. We all showered in the main bath, but other family members could still use the toilet or sink in the powder room if someone was showering. The main bathroom had a large closet for us to store our luggage in. The bathrooms were stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissues, and towels/wash cloths. My son and his friend (12 yrs old) stayed on the 2 single Murphy beds. Can I tell you … I wish EVERY hotel geared towards family would have these Murphy beds. During the day when preparing to leave for the beach, or making/serving meals, that extra added room/space where the Murphy beds go was amazing! We were able to lay a blanket out for our baby to play on. Next to each Murphy bed are built in cabinets and drawers, which was nice for the boys to put their clothes away instead of leaving them all over the hotel room. My brother in law drove from an hour away to stay with us for 2 nights. The hotel was exceptionally accommodating. They provided him with a parking pass (max 2 per room), and gave him his own hotel key. He stayed on the pull out sofa bed in the living room. In the evenings, my husband enjoyed playing pool with him in the game room and having drinks with him in the bar/restaurant My husband and I stayed in the bedroom with a pack and play for our daughter. The hotel offered us a pack and play on arrival which is so nice. Next time we come, we’ll leave our pack and play at home. There was a very spacious dresser with 2 night stands and a large closet for storage. The kitchen had everything you would need except an oven (we used the outdoor grill). The refrigerator and freezer were large and spacious. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, utensils, electrical appliances, pots and pans… everything you would need to cook a meal for a family. The hotel also provided dish soap for the dishwasher, as well as cleaning supplies and paper towels. The table had 6 chairs, as well as outdoor furniture on the balcony over looking the putting course. Our hotel room had recently been redone and was beautiful. While we were there, the whole first floor was being remodeled. It was honestly a great cost effective vacation for families. We were able to eat breakfast and dinners at our hotel. And we were able to pack food for the beach. The 12 year olds were never bored at the hotel. There was always stuff to do. The hotel had washer and dryers for this mom to get laundry done before we left. The Wi-Fi at the hotel was easy to access with a strong connection.

Front desk was extremely helpful with any concerns. Outside property is well-maintained and wonderful for lounging around. Daily towel service was appreciated. Did not like that bedroom window looked on to a public walkway but I'm sure when the accommodations were built years ago this was not a big deal as this seems to be a wonderful place for families and friends to gather.

SMALL seems to be a good way to describe the rooms. We had a 1-bedroom that comes with a double bed and 2 Murphy Beds, along with 2 very small TV's! None of the beds were even remotely comfortable. In addition, the kitchen area is very small (2 burners over a skinny dishwasher, by a short fridge). The heavy dining chairs did not have any sound suppressors and made terrible noise, enough so that we went to Lowe's and bought felt pads so the unit below could not hear us move a chair (We had to tell the neighbors above us to try and be quiet moving the chairs!). They advertise that they are 350' from the beach??? How about 2 or 3 blocks. They are next to the State RV and camping facility, which would have been nice if we could see any of it from the unit. BTW- we had no trouble hearing the freeway! Although they have some nice onsite amenities, we will not be returning to this location! Please feel free to read other reviews and yes, the sofas were dirty!

Not worth the points, exchange rate, and the extra $36 they charge for the maid service when not staying 7 nights. Charcoal grills! Who brings charcoal with them to a timeshare? Small tv's in the rooms. Front desk not accomodating. Stayed in the past but won't ever return.

We are very sorry to hear that RCI did not advise you in advance of your stay about the $36.00 cleanng fee as well as the fact that the bbq units are charcoal. Both of those items should have been printed on the confirmation that was forwarded to you upon booking. Thank you for pointing out the tv size, we will contact RCI and ask that the tv sizes are added to our room descriptions moving forward to assist clients the decesion process when selecting a property to stay at. We are challenged with spatial issues and in lieu of not providing 2 tvs in the units we utilized the space available on the bedroom wall with the largest possible screen so that multiple occupants could watch diffrent television channels if they desired to do so. Please reach out to me directly at 949-492-6103 or information@sanclementeinn.com to discuss the interactions you had with the front desk staff. It is important that not only on site management is aware but also the Board of Directors. I look forward to discussing your stay in detail, i would contact you directly but your tripadvisor ID is anonymous and prevents me from being able to research your stay to provide much needed answers and apologies to your family.

At least at Motel 6 they leave the light on for you, but at this timeshare three lights were out when we checked in. And it took them half day the next day to replace and give us some light. This is the worst timeshare we have ever visited. Last time we will ever visit here!! 👎🏻👎🏻

My family had an incredible stay. The front desk was so nice and very helpful. Their room was wonderful, open spacious and very clean !! Great sunset view over the ocean as well. When my family’s plans changed the management was very accommodating for them and their room. My family drives down from Northern California a lot and the San Clemente Inn is the only place for us. Very pleased.

We were here for 4 days and it is a great location. Staff at check in was friendly and helpful. We had a room on the third floor and got a nice ocean view to watch sunset from our balcony. The room was comfortable, and the kitchen made it easy to have our own breakfast. The restaurant is closed right now so I can't comment on that. Pool and spa is very nice and clean. It is an older property but the rooms are well maintained and that's not an issue. The only down side for us was the sports equipment. The indoor shuffleboard is bad and they didn’t have everything to play some games. But we still enjoyed putt putt, outdoor shuffleboard and amused ourselves. We'd stay here again as the pluses outweigh the minor issues.

We had the best family vacation recently and stayed here. Tons of things for the kids to do, close to shopping, and the ocean! Front desk staff and the manager were extremely helpful, they had a lot of pointers for things to do in the area. I would recommend to anyone!

Great staff. Nice property with family amenities. Games, movies etc. Our studio was small with nowhere to hang anything and no couch. Just 2 chairs and the bed. We had a great view of a natural area and the ocean beyond. Room 263. My husband can't do stairs do I called ahead and they were very accommodating. I would stay here again but in a bigger room.
