We booked a room here for a Monday night. The room was clean and the beds were okay. As another reviewer said, this isn’t the best of neighborhoods. The guy in the room next to ours sat outside our room and talked loudly on the phone for about an hour. While this is not a reflection of the hotel itself, it is an indication of the area if is in. I laid on the bed and heard sirens all night long but, overall, it was alright. We got in late from sightseeing and rose around 7:00 A.M. to go to breakfast and head to Joshua Tree. If I had no other choice I would stay here again but, would likely search for a hotel in a nicer neighborhood.

Stayed here for 5 days room was clean but the family wasn't friendly and a necklace went missing from our room. The only valuable item of jewelry in amongst costume jewelry so we didn't notice until after we left. When we rang the motel they hung up on us several times and were really rude. There are no safety deposit boxes of any description available so your belongings are vulnerable and the owners were in and out of the rooms even though they only clean on request. South LA isn't the best choice but this place should be avoided we lost an item of huge sentiment value I wish we had never stayed.

A very proper, clean hotel, just a lack of amenities such as a pool and included breakfast. Experienced no major flaws. Do keep in mind that, like other travelers mention, this hotel is in the middle of the GHETTO- really the "other side" of Los Angeles that you don't normally see... - The staff in charge are very friendly - I noticed that the room was very clean. I saw one of the cleaners also vacuum the carpet floor, something that other hotels usually don't do - Wi-Fi is reliable (keep in mind you are given login codes which only work per device) - Good value for what you pay - It was difficult to find the hotel, especially when it's dark (no proper lighting). Try to arrive before it's dark. - The neighborhood is not nice at all- don't go outside when it's dark. People who walk by seem dangerous! - There's no breakfast, elevator, or pool. When booking online, request a room on the ground floor to prevent carrying all luggage upstairs!

BEWARE to travelers not from this area. This is in the middle of the ghetto. Homeless people strewn across the sidewalk, gangsters slinging guns in open daylight. I am a young female traveler. I couldn't walk to to the grocery store to buy food without being followed and harassed. Men with guns and bandanas on their faces followed me for 3 blocks when I called the police to escort me back to the hotel, where I asked to cancel the rest of my reservation. When I explained the situation the owner (an older indian man) yelled and screamed at me that no other person had experienced this and if I thought men were following me I must be egotistical. Absolutely disgusting response from a disgusting individual. For the safety of other travelers, please do not stay anywhere near this area of LA. The hotel itself was dirty and smelled of burning rubber that burned my lungs for days afterwards. Drilling outside 24/7. Never experienced anything so tramatic in my life, and I travel a lot.

We stayed here for 2 days. Our biggest complaint is the neighborhood where this hotel is located, check it first with Google Street View! It didn't feel safe going out to take the bus. The room was clean but the staff was less than OK. Also, for the price I would have expected a far better hotel, as one tend to expect more from a $70 hotel.

Booked this motel for 2 days online upon arrival at Los Angeles. It wasn't my first choice. After driving for 1/2 hour or more (make sure you have a gps), I pulled into the parking lot. Went to a highly tinted (bullet proof?) glass window I spoke to a invisible Indian female voice coming from the money slot at the bottom. Check in was ok. Was told check out was 10am, and given a perforated use again card key. Room was very spartan. Had a fridge, but no water, tissue, or tourist information. Only had usual toiletries. No kettle, no nothing, except a working order air conditioner and a tv with many channels. Soon after arrival on my 2nd night there, after getting comfortable in my room the phone rang. A Indian man told me my (small Chevrolet spark...the same size as a yaris, or mini) needed to be be closer to the yellow line? But the way he spoke was quite blunt, and rude. Telling me they 'don't like it! I was a bit perplexed, but went down and rolled forward about 1/2 metre. Clearly dead centre between the lines. Really scratching my head, because the back was not sticking out at all . On returning to my room I had to call and find out if it was now satisfactory. I suspected that they had called the wrong room, because there was a car parked over the lines in the carpark. A female Indian voice answered the Reception phone. I asked if my car was parked ok now. She now yelled 'whaaaaat!'. Very abrupt. Then explained that you called me, and is the car now parked ok? She asked me to hold the line, and listen to some phone music, but I hung up. I didn't receive any return call. The only good point is that the Indian family who own/manage the motel do provide good security, by their spooky gazing presence at most hours. If you can live with that unfriendliness, and the location is good for your short term plans, then consider staying there. Not much food in walking distance for a fish eating vegetarian, but a supermarket 2 blocks away, and a diner for usual greasy breakfast and coffee also. Chicken take way there as well. Just felt no good will at all. Just hand over the tariff payment. And don't bother us. We'll watch you but...from behind the blackened glass. Sorry, but telling you how it is. At check out time, a Indian man, possibly the owner, took pains to say good morning to me passing in the carpark. By this time I was well and truly ready to leave, so I explained to him that I already had returned his morning greeting. Yes It was my turn to be rude. Staff need training in customer relations.
