Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for 3 nights to go hiking and biking. From the price you pay, I didn't expect anything more in terms of cleanliness. No stains or hair on the sheets or towels. Toilet, shower, microwave, and fridge all worked fine.
On the last day, I noticed that there was a huge gap in the window screen. I never got any mosquito bites after sleeping with the window wide open.
They do do cleaning, so if you want to opt out of it, make sure you get/use the do-not-disturb sign. I didn't have one in my room, so they went and made my bed, which I did not want because I spent time wiping, cleaning, and organizing it the way I wanted it to prevent any Corona contamination. The maid placed my personal pillow right on the couch, which is pretty gross.
I'd stay here again because of the pricing and location. Can't complain
Oh, the wifi and cable are spotty. Some channels won't load

If you're looking for high brow luxury accommodations this isn't it. However, it fit the bill for what we needed. We were only staying 1 night in the area before going to another spot on Tahoe and Stevensons had an opening. It was affordable, it was clean, and it was close to the lake and to food. Easy walking distance to much of what you'd want to do.
It's an older place and they haven't done much aesthetic updating in a while, but the owner/manager is nice and helpful.
The room we were in would've accommodated at least 4 somewhat comfortably. So if you want a Lake Tahoe vacation on a decent budget, this could be a good spot to consider, especially if you don't plan to spend tons of time in the room (isn't that the point of vacationing, to go out and explore?). It's a fair place to rest your head.

Great price. It’s old and worn but I can’t complain based on the rate I paid, which was far less than anything else I saw in my online search. Pleasant management and I enjoyed playing ping pong and sitting outside the room. Don’t count on the pool or hot tub even during the season — appears not to be maintained.

I think it's the worst place I've ever been ...
I never thought I'd spend a night (on our honeymoon) like this.
We had two nights booked in this "structure", the room was dirty, yellow on the walls, hair in the sheets, carpet that will be at least 20 years old, no air conditioning, cemetery lighting.
If I could give fewer stars I would, but unfortunately Google forces me to enter at least one star to give a rating.
The next day we left our room keys and left, luckily we found a place in the nearby Firelite Lodge (which I highly recommend to everyone, super cute, spotless and wonderful room with lake view).
Stevenson's Holliday Inn to never again !!!

We came to Kings Beach with accommodations booked elsewhere, but got cancelled with only an hour before check-in. Thankfully I remembered considering the Stevenson's Holliday Inn since they were the only other pet friendly establishment I had found. Walked down the street and talked to the manager about availability, sure enough they had a room and were able to offer it to us. After an exhausting day due to the other place, we were very relieved to get into a room. Our daughter immediately was excited to jump into bed after camping for a couple nights.

This is likely the worst hotel we’ve stayed in. Everything is old and gross. I think that cleaning stuff is actually trying and everything was functional, but still this has to be marked as a one star place so people know what to expect and owners might act to either renovate and improve or close down.

Believe everyone says. Owner is rude! Supposed to stay there in May. Snowstorm came and pass was closed. I couldn't get there if I wanted to.He didn't like that I had to cancel short notice, started to berate me! I wouldn't stay there if you paid me!

I know its old but this place is a dump. Rude staff as well. Toilet had dried blood or something on the seat. Just gross. When we went to office about toilet he got pretty irrate. He went to check the room and then called us liars and told us to go and that he would refund us, which he did. Wish we would have taken a picture. The place is just too old and in desperate need of renovations

We stayed during August, there were no other rooms available and since we were there on a family emergency, we had no choice.
We booked the last two rooms....and because I had stayed here before on another family situation I warned my in laws that we were with that this place is a dump. We had no choice...
The beds are horrible with very scratchy sheets that had rips in them sewed up by hand with black thread....the towels in the bathroom were used and dirty, there was a half a bar of used soap sitting on the shower soap holder....the counters and carpets were stained and the pool looked like a toxic waste dump.
The next day, my sister in law told me that my description of "dump" was giving the place credit.....
I wonder how they get away this with the health department?
I want to give it minus 5 stars...I would if I could! ewww it was nasty!

If you are thinking about staying here and this is the last place that is available, just don't go. I cannot stress how serious I am about that. Like the other reviews have mentioned, the "Holliday" in is a complete scam to lead unknowing people in to thinking that this dump is associated with the actual Holiday Inn. Here is my story: attempted to find a place to stay in North Lake Tahoe on a holiday weekend on the Friday of the weekend. Obviously, this is not idea but due to circumstance, that's what happened. The group that was going was my wife and I, another married couple, and one of our single friends. The room was reserved as being able to sleep six comfortably. When we got to the hotel we realized, with horror, our mistake. As if to confirm our fears, the guy at the front desk demanded that we pay for all three nights of our reservation up front, obviously we were more than a little pissed. As we let ourselves into the room we were hit with the overwhelming smell of mold. Although there was no mold in sight the smell was sickening. We attempted to sleep that night in beds that were little more than plywood boards, at least that's what they felt like. In addition to the less than forgiving mattresses, the beds were COVERED with some sort of hair, we were unsure if it was human or animal. The room was incredibly drafty and the furnace was a ridiculously old POS that made the room either scorchingly hot or unbearably cold. Our single friend ended up trying to sleep on a futon that was little more a couple blankets on wood slats, which was made with by the fact that several of the wood slats were broken and missing from the "futon". Needless to say, no one got much sleep the entire time there. In the morning, when we went to shower we thought that someone must have replaced the towels with sandpaper, albeit sandpaper dotted with unidentifiable stains. As if to add insult to injury, the toilet was so suspect that all of us resorted to scheduling our bathroom breaks to when we were out of the room. On the second night were we able to identify several blood stains scattered throughout the room, most notably on the furnace. I can't believe that this hotel hasn't been condemned for health and safety reasons. Let me break it down for you, if you are considering staying here, JUST DON'T. I still shudder and feel nauseated when I think of the smell in the room. I could go on and on about how awful this place is but I hope that just these few things have convinced you enough. It wasn't even a cheap option. This kind of place wouldn't even be a good deal at 20 dollars a day. Not only are you afraid of getting hepatitis but you are getting raped in the wallet as well staying at this place. I hope this place burns to the ground.
