Awesome little oasis to relax and chill out! The rooms are lovely and cozy. The bed is very comfortable and it is very calm and quiet at nighttime. Everything is very clean and tidied up. Nothing is far away, breakfast is next doors and it is not far away to the boats that will bring you to the islands. There are chill out areas all over the place. Clare is also very helpful and a great person and always there for a little chat. I enjoyed my stay very much and I would come here again!
I bloody loved Clare, she was smashing and great to chat with. Otres has taken a hit due to development the last couple of years, she was straight up and I respect that. The development did not take away any of the charm of the place, it was gorgeous. Really well made and comfortable bungalows, beautiful Garden. Comfortable bed with moskito net. Clean bathrooms, clean everywhere really, nice shower that was perfect after the journey from Phnom Penh. Touch of class though was the filter coffee in the morning. It is the little things about the place that make the experience. I really hope the place stays as it is despite the development because what Clare has built is an oasis and for definite I would stay here again. Back 7 years ago when I was travelling I would've easily lost a month here without a single regret. Thanks Clare.…
This is a lovely group of thatched bungalows hidden amongst the trees in Otres village. Close to all amenities, including a great restaurant doing good pizza next door. Clare is a lovely and very helpful host. Highly recommended!
We had not realised Sihanoukville was such a big building site. The Chinese are building everywhere. We arrived late at the airport and could only get a Boat to the island the next morning so had to stay somewhere. Mama Clares seemed “closest” to the airport. With all the building and road works, not sure it is the shortest journey to a hotel from the airport ! There is not much around. We struggled to find breakfast and after 30 mins walk ended up with a breakfast next door, which was $5 more expensive than the night at mama clares... The accommodation is ok. We had a treetop at the back, “overlooking” the river but also some of the new Chinese building sites in the distance. We did not have a private bathroom. There are two showers&toilets, shared with numerous rooms. One had hot water. The lock on our door did not seem to work, but the backside of the hut is open anyway. There is no lock on the gate, so everyone could wonder in. Clare has been in Cambodia for some years. The change of Sihanoukville is not helping this place. However, it is probably one of the better, authentic place in the area if you have to stay in this area. Better to avoid Sihanoukville all together if you could!…
We stayed in the beautiful and romantic treehouse - a unique experiece.. Woke up to the sounds of exotic birds singing from the roof and the lush garden of orange flowers. We will fore sure come back, 3 nights - not enough!!! The owner Claire is a wonderful person who greeted us in a most welcoming way, felt so relaxed and happy to be back in wonderful Cambodia!
