Our modern beach resort hosts 78 perfectly appointed spacious guest suites with separate living areas. Private balconies afford 180 degree shoreline views, while bike, kayak, paddleboard and boogie board rentals invite guests to dive right into our SoCal lifestyle. Our full-service D'ames Spa provides signature treatments while our sparkling beachfront heated pool and cabana chaise lounges offer a relaxing respite. I’m a Marriott Titanium member and this is hands-down the worst Autograph Collection hotel I’ve ever visited. Perhaps it had some glory days, but currently the property is dreary and rundown, and I experienced a host of issues with the room and property. I stayed in the nicest

Dear Guest, We are extremely sorry that your stay was mired in challenges and disruptions. We would hope that our guest services team could assist you throughout your stay to avoid so many missteps, thus this was not the case this time. We will take your comments to heart to make the necessary adjustments moving forward. It would be our ultimate goal to earn back your business and show you that this is not a typical experience at our beachfront hotel. Sincerely, Todd Husted General Manager

The property felt old and dated, wallpaper peeling, doors not closing well. The lobby is eccentric (not in a good way) and the magazines in the "gift shop" were 3 years old. The room smelled moldy and putrid. My coworker actually felt sick while we were in the room vs when we

Dear Guest, I am very disheartened by your impressions of our hotel and staff - a property I am very proud of and a staff that work extremely hard to provide sincere and genuine service. We are extremely respectful of our guests and honored to be selected as a travel destination. Your aggressive stance is shocking seeing that you did not approach our guest services team throughout your stay and then submit your review on all social media a month after departure. I will elect to not detail my responses to your review and misrepresentation of Pier South in this social media venue. This could have been conducted with our management during your stay in a professional and respectful manner. Sincerely, Todd Husted General Manager

This is a good place to go if you are intentionally looking for a quieter beach than those farther north in San Diego. The area has an old beach town vibe and there are a couple of nice restaurants in the area. The room is clean and well appointed. (But as is true of almost

The Pier South Resort is located right on the beach and steps from the pier at Imperial Beach. For a relaxing few days at the beach, this is the best place to stay in Imperial Beach. Of note when selecting rooms, oceanfront does not always mean oceanfront. They count some

From check in to check out all the staff are very welcoming and helpful. Happy to let us see rooms before we found one we liked, and any issues dealt with promptly. We had an ocean front studio, an absolutely fabulous room, plenty of space and great views. We were there in a

A lot of the “ocean-view” rooms only have a peekaboo view of the ocean- with some you have to crane your neck around the corner to see the ocean. If you want a true oceanview, choose oceanfront.

There might be enough room, but it would be a tight fit. There is more room to maneuver furniture space in the living area, especially for any type of bed.
