We splurged on a night here for a baby moon and while the room was nice we were woken by construction work - lights flashing, noise and construction lasted for hours starting before midnight. After calling front desk to find out what was going on they said they didn’t know and

A wonderful stay in every respect. L'Auberge is cozy and welcoming, and it's placement in Del Mar is perfect. We could see the Pacific from our room, the Living Room lobby and Coastline outside restaurant. My husband and I love to walk and shop, and we did both without moving

Thank you for your recent stay with us and for your wonderful review. We take great pride in our service and it looks like it showed. The village of Del Mar is great to explore on foot and we're thrilled you were able to take advantage of it! We look forward to welcoming you back next year!

L'Auberge Del Mar is a low key yet very civilized enclave overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The rooms are decorated in a seaside motif and are most comfortable. The lobby fireplace is a warm, cozy place to have a drink, good conversation or cross-pollinate. The restaurant serves

Under performed at 80% of opportunities to do so. Had to ask staff for things multiple times. Rooms are dated, location is nice. Not sure of better options there. Would try to find somewhere else to stay

Absolutely beautiful hotel with top notch accommodations and superior service. A good sign of a spectacular hotel for me is how much time while I am on vacation I am willing to hang out in the hotel. I love San Diego and did plenty of sight seeing but my family and I also spent

I am not sure the last time the rooms were renovated but overall condition is good with sophiticated seashore decor and large flat screen TVs. The property and common areas had a complete renovation approximately 7 years ago. As far as a honeymoon spot, I would say definitely for the location a block from the beach in Del Mar. But as a I said in my review, I would avoid this place on the weekends because it is wedding after wedding thus loud and very very crowded. I hope this helped.

Indeed there is only one pool which was largely empty most of the time, but there were always people sunning however.

Is the beach close by and easily accesible by foot?
Yes, the beach is very easily accessible by foot, both from the street and also our private pathway. It's a 5 minute or less walk. Depending on the season, we also offer "Beach Valet" rides to the and from the beach in one of our luxury golf carts.

Take the 5 South, stay in the left lane to avoid merging traffic until you exit on 5th South once you reach the city. Continue straight towards the water front. Look for the big sign "GASLAMP" On a good day 20-30 minutes depends on time of day and summer event congestion. If you have the time drive the coast line to downtown.

"Best Views, best staff, professional, stunning beach views"
"2nd and third floors are best. Next time I would try to get a corner suite. There was a beach view but not much of one."
"Ocean view"
"See if you can upgrade to a coastal room with a partial ocean view!"
