We just happened by chance to come across Zamaca Bed and Breakfast when our flight got canceled and we needed a place to stay. The property was actually closed at the time due to the owners leaving on vacation, but after telling them our situation they graciously allowed us to stay the night. We showed up late in the night, but were welcomed with such kindness and amazing hospitality. Ellen and John made sure we were welcomed and that we had everything we needed for the night. Upon arriving, we did not know the house didn't have AC, which seemed way more daunting at first, but in reality wasn't so bad. The house and all the rooms are very spacious with lots of windows with screens. There are high ceilings and lots of balconies. There really is a great breeze that runs through the entire house. Waking up in the morning we could finally take in the SPECTACULAR views of the ocean and the banana plantation. There is such a sense of tranquility and peacefulness while being at this property. I woke up to the sounds of waves, birds chirping, and a cow mooing! Ellen presented us with the most amazing breakfast, even though she admitted they didn't have much since they were closed... But she pulled off an outstanding breakfast either way! We are SO grateful that Ellen and John opened their home to us at the last minute. It truly was a wonderful and unexpected ending to our vacation. I would go back there in a heartbeat when visiting St. Lucia.

I started this review in my head so many times, and the reason is because I absolutely loved Ellen & John's home. The moment we arrived, we felt at home. Elle greeted us with a big smile and so much warmth. She asked us to sit and have a drink, to enjoy the sunset and the stunning view. John appeared in that moment and he, too, greeted us with the biggest smile. Once we finished our drinks, we were shown our room. The room was exquisitely decorated, comfortable bed and had also a big bathroom. The moment we stepped into our room it was hard not to go outside in the balcony and enjoy the breeze. After a week of air-conditioning, the feeling of a fresh breeze was needed. Ellen and John are the perfect hosts. You can have it both ways, if you want your privacy, you'll be left to it. If you would like to socialise with them and others guests, you will absolutely be able to do that too. Over the 4 nights, we got to know Ellen and John, as well as their other guests. We shared a drink or two and it felt like family. This couple will make your stay memorable as they will do everything they can to make you feel at home and happy. Now, I'm leaving the best for last. Ellen's cooking. We had good, bad and terrible experiences during our holiday when it comes to food. Ellen's food made up for all of it as we had the best meals of our holiday. Breakfast, delicious. Dinner, absolutely perfection. What more can we say? Thank you so much for having us, Ellen and John. We absolutely loved your company and home. 💖

Zamaca is a real gem. It’s a little hard to find, but well worth it. The view over the valley and the sea is breathtaking. Ellen and John are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They went beyond normal helpfulness to us, providing the kind of attention that you don’t usually find in any accommodation. You’ll love them. Ellen is a fabulous cook, and for a very reasonable fee she will cook a delicious 3 course dinner for you. Don’t miss it! Breakfast is served on the patio. Gorgeous view. Ask Ellen to make you her frittata, it’s memorable. Zamaca is an easy 10 miles from the airport, so it’s very convenient just before or just after your flight. It’s very reasonably priced. You won’t be disappointed.

We spent a night here in August while traveling to Bequia and another on our return in September. The proprietors John & Ellen are a warm and charming couple - and Ellen is an incredibly cook. She prepared breakfast both mornings and dinner our last evening. WONDERFUL..

I wish we would have had more days to stay at John and Ellen’s Bed and Breakfast. The location is incredible with spectacular views of the ocean. The hosts are so friendly and hospitable. If you have the opportunity to have Ellen cook for you I would highly recommend it. Her cooking is delicious and indulges you in the traditional cooking of St Lucia. We truly had a great time visiting their Bed and Breakfast. You will not be disappointed as they are passionate about creating a memorable stay for their guests. They also recommended transportation to and from the airport and this also turned out to be first class! Very helpful to have someone knowledgeable helping you since it was our first visit.

We were looking for a warm tropical spot where we could recover from a very busy year. We found that spot at Zamaca. Jon and Ellen are wonderful hosts. They were always willing to chat or recommend places to go. Ellen is a fantastic cook. We were served breakfast on the veranda with a view of the ocean each morning. Ellen served meals that included locally grown produce. We chose to eat dinner at the b&b four nights. We were very pleased with each meal and especially enjoyed trying foods we had never had before. Zamaca is located away from the all-inclusive resorts. While we were away from the tourist areas, we were still able to travel to do everything we wanted. The island isn't big so it doesn't take long to get where you are going. There is a beach just a short hike away. We enjoyed finding hermit crabs and conch shells, and drinking coconut water a man on the beach offered us. We ventured into tourist areas just twice...to Fond Deux Plantation and Castries. Ellen was able to recommend Allyns, a taxi driver, to take us to both places. He was reasonably priced and a good tour guide. We found Zamaca to be exactly what we wanted and needed for an excellent vacation.

The Zamaca Bed and Breakfast, owned by Ellen and John Boccato, is outstanding in every way. I made the reservations about 9 months ahead of time. It was easy to do via email. We had a rental car and found Zamaca very easily using Google Maps. However, if you have problems, just call John Boccato and he will give you good directions. Zamaca is located in Micoud, which is a smaller town. From Zamaca, there's an amazing view of the ocean. The ocean breeze was refreshing and helped us to sleep soundly. Our room was very clean, had a vaulted ceiling, nice furniture, comfortable bed, and a porch with an ocean view. The bathroom was modern and clean. Ellen and John are super friendly and helpful. They can help with taxis, reservations, and tours. The food was outstanding. Breakfast is complimentary and very filling. We also had our dinners with them. Ellen was born in St. Lucia and knows how to cook St. Lucien food. It was always outstanding. John and Ellen are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I highly recommend Zamaca for all the reasons above and more.
