It’s a great beach property., walking distance to one of the only dog beaches in San Diego county. Restaurants within walking distance. A short drive to Solano Beach Cedros Shopping and shopping and dining in Encinitas. The rooms are in need of some work, but the property is being upgraded.
Great view, amazing staff, good food and shopping close by.. Beach is a hop skip and a jump..best bars close by..stuff for families to do...play in the sand..or camp grounds close by...definitely one of my favorite spots
We have stayed at this hotel twice now and enjoyed it both times. There is no elevator at the hotel, they do have some first floor rooms and there is a ramp at the street level to access those rooms. They have their own complementary parking garage which is underneath the hotel. Great views of the ocean on the third floor deck but the only way to access this is stairs. We had a queen bed. Room 107 the queen bed is very high off the ground. It does have a sofa bed but we did not realize that until the morning of check out. The air conditioning and the heat has a remote which you point at the unit on the wall to operate and slide down to change ,this was a little confusing . We stayed here March 2021 in room 107 and I don’t recall the room on the second floor that we stayed August 2020. We had an enjoyable time and will be back . A few restaurants in the area that you can walk to. Beach is also close by and easy walk from hotel downhill.…
Building is in need of repairs, old dilapidated condition. In need of updates to electrical, plumbing and interior. Had to move out of 2 rooms, first one was dirty with the air conditioner not functioning properly, second room you couldn’t iron your clothes and have the air conditioning on at the same time light went out twice leaving me and my wife in pitch black. Finally 3rd room was somewhat acceptable except for the old musty smell and broken furniture. What does the owner of these lodge do with the revenue they make pocket it? Never again will I stay in this dump hotel with slumlord owners.
It's not right on the beach. We tried to find beach access when we walked to the beach which you can see from the hotel but rv park on the beach gated off beach access. Access was much further down than one should walk carrying a load of beach stuff. You'll need your car to spend a day at the beach which is not what we wanted to have to do. The room.....mattress old, springs creaked. Pillows very firm and too puffy...head and neck could not line up. Woke in pain. Plumbing in bathroom struggled to keep up. Tub didn't drain while showering. Carpet has many miles on it. No elevator to second level rooms which are 3rd level from parking lot. Otherwise location served just what we needed (except beach access).
