Well equipped cottages built into the rocks. Whoever furnished these, gave attention to detail, including mosquito spray. The Aircon helps in summer. A pity about load shedding, they have a generator, which was used last time, but not this time. There is a pool, which at the wrong time is full of kids. Plenty of lawn available, internet in the cottages, but not outside. The braai place gets cleaned daily as well as the trash removed. The dam is a heaven for speed boats. We kayaked 7 kilometers up stream, and were not phased by the motorboats. Bring or buy drinking water.

A very good, safe, secure, huge, wide-open, Camp Site with loads of space for Tents, Trailers, Caravans, Mobile Homes and Winnebagos (or similar), several flat/leveled or tiered areas & fully functioning & clean Ablution Blocks, Braais & Bins, for sure, but ‘Resort’ – not so convinced.

The huge Lake is actually a man-made creation on the Olifants River, but you wouldn’t know it.

It is very close to the Main Nth/Sth Route 7 and after (heading South) the ghastly miles of Roadworks. Traffic can be heard but mainly from the big Trucks & their airbrakes, so we did not regard it as an Issue.

Highly recommended & Good Value. Would not hesitate to visit again, if in the area

I had cause to spend an overnight at this resort, choosing it because of its pet-friendly status. We stayed in one of the three Stone Cottages and we were so pleasantly surprised by the amenities available and layout of the cottages that we have decided to make this a regular destination whenever we feel the need to take a break. The friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the cottage and overall "feel" of the resort are so positive that I wanted to ask for timeshare options!

The N7 is quite near and the noise of the vehicles at night time is disturbing. Poor communication from Rondeberg staff. In peak time and you close the only shop in 22km!! The shop can do so much more for additional income. Shop 1st impression is a empty room! The Clanwilliam area got a lot of produce that could be put available to campers to buy!! More can be done regarding activities : a big hall with nothing inside except the Kayaks! Maybe few pool tables, table tennis, dart boards, a new years eve dance maybe? The basic service was delivered regarding cleaning the bathrooms - however in peak times toilettes need to be clean frequently. More can be done regarding products at the shop and service delivery to the campers!

Rented a waterside chalet for one night. Equipped with everything we could wish for. Amazing, beautiful scenery. BBQ facilities. On site shop with basic necessities, food, drink etc. Also, lot of campsites for rent - they looked nice: grassy, clean and well maintained

What a lovely camp ground and friendly staff. And a absolute must if you have your own boat. Nice pool and plenty bathroom blocks. Has nice tv/ activity room/hall where you could have a function also.

We just returned from a 2 night stay in the 6 sleeper "family" chalet. This consisted of 2 ensuite bedrooms and 2 single beds in the lounge area.

We travelled with friends who occupied the one bedroom with their 19 month old child. My wife and I were to occupy the 2nd bedroom while our children, 7 and 4 years old were to sleep in the lounge. The problem however was that the bedrooms were seperate units from the living area with no inter-leading access. Not at all practical for our needs. This meant that my wife and I had to split up and share a room with each of the little ones.

The patio is great for entertaining and has an amazing view of the dam and surrounding mountains. The patio however is a lot of hard work if you have a toddler as it has 2 levels without any railings and it has a low fire pit accessible to small children.

Nice addition of a swimming pool as the temperatures exceeded 35 degrees during our stay. I was also very grateful for the air-conditioning in the rooms.

Please be cautious though when departing as there is no directional signage and many people end up on the road into the vineyards where you come under attack by the intruder detection system that tracks you by motion sensor and blasts thunder claps at you while you attempt to execute a 3 point turn while you wife and children scream with terror. Prior to this I thought we were staying opposite a shooting range as the "shots" sounded through the morning. It was only after our drive in the vineyards that I realised that this was a common occurrence and that management had failed to address.

A lovely setting right on the water. But the lack of rules for the campsite means that you end up with people playing their music on full volume all day and shouting to each other.

Management were unwilling to take responsibility to ensure that the park remains peaceful and quiet for the majority of the people staying there. The most we got was a shrug of indifference from the manager.

It's a shame, because it has potential to be a great holiday destination, but we will not be going back.

Well, we are ardent campers and we have been all over the Western Cape. The luxury stands at Rondeberg are something to write home about. Each stand has a kitchen. bathroom, covered braai and a room, sleeping four ( bedding provided) Come rain, hail sunshine or wind , you are perfectly sorted. This is ideal should you arrive late or staying over for one night only. This is also of course perfect staying for a week or more.

The camping site does offer a couple of activities including a swimming pool and a big dam ideal for water activities and fishing.

The only thing that was spoiling the broth was the noise of the traffic on the N7.....

Overall I would call it one of our "gems" when it comes to camping sites

Stayed at Rondeberg in a 4 sleeper chalet. Pleasant spot next to the dam, service friendly and helpful. Strange bathroom arrangement with access through an outside door. Although not luxurious pleasant and comfortable place to stay en route to the flowers!
