This was a little piece of Paradise nestled in the pines. We felt like we were staying with old friends. Everything was done for us, all we had to do was relax! There is plenty to do and even the pets enjoy it here. No need to worry about viruses, there was no-contact registration and the rooms are completely sanitized after every guest. You can order groceries to be delivered from the market there ( which has just about everything you need) or you can order food from the local restaurants. Great place to get away and enjoy the beauty of nature!

The Pines was much more than we expected in the most delightful ways! We made last minute reservations and were able to get a King Chalet for an extremely reasonable price and an even a very affordable pet deposit so our little dog could stay with us. The location is beautiful and has everything we needed. Two restaurants and bars, a hot tub, friendly staff and a short distance to Yosemite. We could not have asked for more :)

i went to the pines resort at bass lake for my yearly birthday getaway vacation, this year it was almost canceled due to the coronavirus... The staff at the pines resort took extra precautions to assur me that my cabin was cleane and safe! It's a place I enjoy to visit often, the cabins are always clean and well maintained, most have a kitchen with a fireplace and a private deck for BBQ'N and sunset dinners with family and friends! There's lots to see and do in "the great outdoors"...
a classic movie that was filmed there at the lake! On your next visit to Yosemite, take a drive to bass lake,
drive to the pines resort for dinner at duceys restaurant, they have excellent food, I've never had a dinner or breakfast that I didn't like or couldn't finish!
my favorite is there prim rib dinners.. I've come close to eating the entire meal only after a long day of hiking in Yosemite!
Duceys restaurant was closed for dinning this year due to the coronavirus, I was relieved to know that they were delivering meals to there guests, who were staying at there resort,..
that was a delicious dinner, that i thoroughly enjoy eating by a hot fire in my cabin, while watching a beautiful sunset, all while social distancing myself during my stay at bass lake
Looking forward to a return visit for Christmas and possibly seeing snow at the cabins!
..Wade

My family has been coming to the Pines Resort for the last 7 summers. The chalets, while dated, are the perfect size and in the perfect location for a Bass Lake getaway.

Unfortunately, the quality in accommodations has plummeted the last couple of years, hitting a low this summer.

When we first reserved our three chalets (for our family of 10) months ago, my wife requested two “pack and plays” for our newborn twins. The employee my wife spoke to assured her that the “pack and plays” were reserved.

About two weeks prior to arrival, my wife again called and was assured that TWO “pack and plays” were RESERVED for us. Upon arrival, we only received one pack and play and was told that we should never have been told they were reserved, as the pack and plays were allegedly “first come first serve.” The manager told me that another “pack and play” wouldn’t be available for four more days but told me she would look at ordering one on Amazon. She and I both knew that wouldn’t arrive during our stay and I felt that it was a very weak attempt at trying to show some effort in resolving the issue. On one hand, I understand the manager has to bear the brunt of complaints and it likely gets old real fast, but I couldn’t help but feel that my frustration was going in one ear and out the other.

As a result, one of our six month old twins was forced to sleep in a collapsible wagon. Needless to say, it was unpleasant experience for both him, my wife, and I.

Additionally, our room was supposed to be ready at first 4pm but we were told they were running late and we were forced to have a late check in.

Once we finally got into our room, it seems the housekeepers did very little cleaning prior to our arrival. Trash was strewn about outside the entrance to our chalet, and there were dental floss picks, plastic food wrappers, and a condom wrapper underneath our bed. Disgusting.

As my wife and I get into bed, we find there isn’t a remote control for the downstairs television, and no physical buttons on the television allowing one to change the channel. Maintenance showed up and provided us with a new remote, but it’s disappointing basic amenities like this were overlooked during the “cleaning” process.

If you had asked me three years ago if I recommended The Pines Resort, it would have been a resounding “YES!” Unfortunately, the quality of service and accommodations has dropped the last couple of years and I can’t honestly say you get your moneys worth. More unfortunate is the fact that The Pines more or less has a monopoly on accommodations on this side of the lake, so I see little reason for them to work on improving their service.

The Pines was awesome. We just got back home from 3 nights and had a great experience. We stayed in a chalet and lucked out to get one with a fire place/wood stove. The chalet's are situated in a really great way - little winding streets that rise up the hill, allowing for a cute neighborhood feel and privacy. Big plusses were: friendly and helpful staff, full kitchen, super hot water, great climate control, cute wood stove (Duraflame only), beds were comfortable, deck had a lake view, a barbeque for grilling and a cute little loft area above the living room which would be super fun for kids. Although the chalet's are like a duplex and share a wall and you can hear your neighbors while upstairs (loud kids, etc.) the bedrooms are positioned in such a way that you can easily sleep and you don't hear the neighbors. They have a full grocery store on the property with basically everything you could need, a good restaurant if you don't want to cook and it's all situated on the lake. We also rented a pontoon boat and kayak from the place next door which was fun. Note: if you have Sprint or T-Mobile don't plan on having cell reception but the WiFi was great. Overall, service was great, people were friendly and we area already planning another trip back.

I spent 2 nights at a chalet at the Pines Resort with my sister and we had a fantastic time. Everyone at the reception desk was sweet and very helpful.

The fact that it is right on the lake makes it hard to beat. The view of Bass Lake from the resort is just breath taking. You can enjoy the sunset from their jacuzzi with that beautiful view and have a great time.

What stood out to me the most was the structure the resort provided: a supermarket, restaurants, bars, a pool, a jaccuzzi, a spacious chalet, even a post office and a gas station IN the resort! There are so many activities to do in the lake as well!!

I think this is a great place to stay not only if you're there to enjoy Bass Lake, but if you're traveling to Yosemite as well. It's on the way (I was driving from LA- it's about 1.5 hour away from the park) and after hanging out at the Yosemite National Park, it was nice to "come home" to the cozy environment that Pines Resort provided, and again, to that level of structure. We always knew we'd have access to anything we needed.

The chalet had two floors and it was quite spacious! The kitchen was fully equipped with a coffee and tea station as well, which I highly appreciated. The view from the balcony was beautiful as well, and I LOVE that they were pet friendly. I brought my puppy for the ride and he had a blast.

My only concern was that the walls are thin, so if your neighbors get loud, you'll definitely hear some of that, especially in balcony area of the chalet. A little more privacy in that setting could really elevate the experience for guests. I also think fluffier pillows would be an amazing addition.

My experience with customer service was extremely positive. I even forgot my backpack at the resort and called the reception desk to see if they could locate it for me. By the time I arrived, they had it safely behind the task with a tag and my name on it. I was super thankful for their efficiency and care with my belongings.

Would totally come back! Thank you for the amazing memories and for having us, Pines Resort. :)

The Pines Resort: This is such a beautiful spot. The chateau cabins are simple but lovely. The two patios have a partition, so noise from next door can be heard, but we didn't care because it was a fun environment. We sat on our patio during the evening, we listened to the music playing from the restaurant below (classic rock...sounded great), and we ordered food from the restaurant to-go. The food was fantastic. There was a lot of food, so we were glad that we shared. It is nice to have a separate bedroom downstairs, and the living room upstairs. The kitchen was stocked with everything...microwave, toaster, stove, dishes, utensils, coffee pot, coffee, and some minor cleaning items (sponge, dish towels, dish soap). The little community was within walking distance and had a great market, a pizza place, bakery, bar, and a grill restaurant with hamburgers, etc. There is a nicer restaurant that offered steak, pasta, fish, which was excellent. Overall, this was an amazing find and we were so happy with our stay.

The chalets were nice but could have easily been much nicer. The wood floors were dirty until we were able to get a broom after a day of requesting it and cleaning the floors ourselves. We had to request towels, pillows, and blankets several times to get everything we needed. These are little things, but for the price they should be better handled. But Bass Lake is amazing and fortunately for The Pines made up for it.

My niece chose the The Pines Resort for her April 2021 wedding. So we reserved the Spa Lakeview Suite for our 2-night stay and stayed in #2 on the 1st floor. Here's my feedback:
1. View of Bass Lake is great and you can walk right out to the large patio deck that is shared by the other 1st floor lakeview suites. However, the patio tables were dirty and the patio table umbrellas were broken.
2. Living area was large with a sofa and coffee table, very small refrigerator, microwave and sink.
3. King-size bed was comfortable.
4. Bathroom is VERY DATED and the layout needs to be completely reconfigured and remodeled because:
a) The large pink spa tub takes up most of the room but it looked dirty and we only used it to store the dirty towels.
b) The tiny shower is one the same room as the toilet and the door the the toilet/shower has to be closed in order to enter the tiny shower. If you are overweight you will not fit in this shower.
5. The ceilings/floors of the suites are not well insulated so you can hear the occupants walking around the 2nd floor suites. If you are a light sleeper, request a 2nd floor suite.
6. The previous occupant set the alarm to go off at 6:00 AM and when the room was cleaned, the alarm was not turned off. So it we were rudely awoken at 6:00 AM on Saturday morning and it took 2 of us to figure out how to turn the alarm off.
7. WiFi was spotty and didn't always work in the suite or elsewhere on the resort property. I had to call the Front Desk because the password, indicated on the information sheet I was given when I checked in, was not correct.
8. Many of the hotel guests were not wearing masks, especially inside the restaurant lobby while waiting to be seated.
9. The large wooden deck that connects from the suites to the boat docks is under repair and closed.

The outdoor wedding site was quite nice and right next to Bass Lake. The nearby outdoor tent for the reception had portable heaters. However, the tables were not set up to allow for 6 feet separation from each table. Fortunately, we sat at a table with family members who were all fully vaccinated.

Overall, our stay was ok because we attended a wedding. However, the Pines Resort suites need updating-especially the bathrooms. We have no plans on visiting again.

I really, really wanted to love this place.

I love hole in the walls. I love hokey, small town feels. I love rustic. I don’t need luxury. I am ok with quaint.

The good — the people were amazing and friendly. The staff that helped us were exceptional.

The restaurant - yum! Went for breakfast and dinner - all meals were great.

The room? Eh. I’m glad we were just there to sleep I’ve r2 nights and I’m so glad to be in my own bed again.

We had a king chalet. The kitchen and bathroom was updated but the rest was old, dirty and didn’t feel comfortable. The kitchen is BARE - like, less than basics (no sponge, no soap to clean the dishes) the water — bring your own. The pull out sofa?? Caves into the middle and there is no insulation anywhere so any move upstairs is heard and felt downstairs. This isn’t a room that can comfortably sleep 4 — this is a 2 person, sleep only downstairs on the king bed room.

It really need updating. It feels like a room from the 70’s with furniture from the 90’s.

I’m sad. I wanted to love this place — but I won’t be back.

The Conference Queen Chalet does not have the full kitchen, so no stove and full refrigerator. It may also have a fireplace that the other chalet does not have.
